Could Bill Hader Be Joining Anna Kendrick in A Disney Movie About a Female Santa Claus?

Could Bill Hader Be Joining Anna Kendrick in A Disney Movie About a Female Santa Claus?

News has recently been circulating that Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods) is in talks with Disney to star in a new motion picture titled Nicole which will tell the story of a female Santa Claus in a project directed by Marc Lawrence and produced by Suzanne Todd.

With the project starting to gain momentum,  another rumor circling through the Disney-sphere is that Bill Hader is in the running to play the male lead in the film.  As many of you may know, Hader has a history with Disney voicing the role of Fear in Inside Out.

The project will reportedly center on Santa Claus’s daughter as she prepares to take over for her father who is up for retirement.

Little else has been revealed about the project or regarding a potential release date.   Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with Chip and Co for the latest news and information regarding this and the other exciting films in the pipeline.

Changes Coming to Disneyland’s Parade Landscape

With so many huge announcements coming out of last week’s D23 Expo, we wanted to make sure the return of a favorite nighttime parade didn’t get lost in the shuffle. That’s right, Paint the Night nighttime parade is officially returning to Disneyland! This time at California Adventure in 2018. Disney is also hinting at a new float to be added to the parade. Space Ranges, anyone?

With Paint the Night going to California Adventure, the Pixar Play Parade will be going to Disneyland Park. Pixar Play Parade will begin it’s run at Disneyland Park in 2018 as part of the year-long Pixar Fest celebration. Guests of the Pixar fest will be able to experience the magical worlds of Pixar in brand new ways as the entire resort comes alive with some of your favorite stories.

Changes Coming to Disneyland's Parade Landscape

With those two parade changes, the future of Main Street Electrical parade is still up in the air. The parade has been cursing down the streets of Disneyland since January after moving over from the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. The parade was originally scheduled to end it’s run at Disneyland in June but was extended to August 20. The strongest rumors have it going back to Disney World but no official announcement has been made by Disney.

What do you think of all these parade changes. I personally never had the chance to see Paint the Night and was selfishly wanting it to come to Disney World. But I am definitely up for a trip to the west coast to see it when it makes it debut at California Adventure.

Mobile Order allows guests the convenience of reviewing menus and placing food orders from the convenience of their smart phones. Guests simply access the service through the My Disney Experience app. Once the app is opened, the steps are pretty easy to place your order.

  • Tap on your character, then scroll to “My Plans” and press the “Order Food” button.
  • Select “Dining” from the top of the app, select the restaurant you want and press “Order Food.”
  • Once your order is complete, you pay from the convenience of your phone. Currently, Mobile Order is only accepting Credit and Debit cards. Other forms of payment, including dining plans, would have to be ordered in person.

Upon arrival at the restaurants, guests then open the My Disney Experience app and select “I’m Here, Prepare My Order.” When your food is ready you will receive a notification from the app and you will gather your food from the “Mobile Food Pick up” area.

Will the Magic Kingdom See the Return of the Main Street Electrical Parade?

Will the Magic Kingdom See the Return of the Main Street Electrical Parade?

We previously were all but certain that the Paint the Night nighttime parade, most recently at Disneyland, was packed up and ready to be shipped off to another Disney Park. The Main Street Electrical Parade has been running at Disneyland Park since January after leaving a hole in the Magic Kingdom’s nighttime parade schedule. With all this information it seemed like the most logical place for Paint the Night to go to was the Magic Kingdom.

Well, we will admit it. We were wrong. While it was announced at the D23 Expo that Paint the Night is indeed going to another Disney Park, it’s just going across the Esplanade at Disneyland to California Adventure. Lots of people didn’t think it was going to be coming to Disney World anyway due to the size of the floats not being able to fit the streets of any of the Disney World Parks. While the Pixar Play Parade is coming back to Disneyland Park, the Main Street Electrical Parade is scheduled to end it’s run there next month. (It was actually scheduled to end in June but was extended to August.)

Now the question is, what happens to the Main Street Electrical Parade? The folks over at The Kingdom Insider give us three theories:

  1. Disney retires the parade completely.
  2. Disney ships the parade off on a “world tour” of the other Disney Parks around the globe.
  3. The parade is sent back to the Magic Kingdom.

Rumors have been circulating that Disney is working on a next-gen replacement for the parade ever since it left the Magic Kingdom last Fall. However, the debut of a brand new parade does not appear to be happening anytime soon. We can only hope that the Main Street Electrical Parade will be sent back to the Magic Kingdom so we can have our nighttime parade back to hold us over until a new one is released in the future!

Let us know what you think will happen to this iconic parade.
