World Renowned LaLiga Soccer Association Teaming Up with ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

LaLiga Soccer

LaLiga Soccer

Walt Disney World recently announced a newly formed partnership with one of the biggest names in European soccer. This newly formed relationship with IdeaSport, LLC will result in the launch of a youth soccer training institute at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex sponsored by LaLiga, one of the most successful professional soccer leagues in the world.

Disney Parks Blog shared some information on this exciting new partnership:

Through this multi-year agreement, the program presented by LaLiga and Walt Disney World Resort will provide a holistic approach to soccer education with proven, year-round training and development for youth soccer athletes, developing them on and off the field. It will also offer training for coaches and officials.

Open enrollment begins June 1-4, and training and development will begin later that month – just as many kids are getting out of school for the summer.

It’s a rare opportunity for aspiring youth soccer players to learn the Spanish style of soccer from world-class coaches, players and officials associated with LaLiga, the Spanish professional soccer league that’s one of the most popular in the world. In addition, this is expected to bring multiple events and exhibitions to the complex each year, including a tournament, on-site events with current and former LaLiga players, summer camps with current and former players and coaches, visits from LaLiga legends and ambassadors, and more events.

For more information on this exciting, new soccer program, visit www.idea-sports.com.

Pandora

Pandora

This morning Disney has released a first look at the new Cast Member Uniforms and Name-tags for Pandora: World of Avatar.

These images were posted by Deb Wills from All Ears.

(Please be patient while tweets load)

Here is a sneak peak at the new cast member costumes that will be worn in Pandora – The World of Avatar. Animal themed prints with purple and earth tones make the outfits really unique.

This next photo is a close up of the cast member name tags. Throughout Disney World property, cast member name tags let guests know their city and state of origin. Can you see a difference in these “Pandoran” name tags?

Just a couple more Pandora Cast Member Name tags pictures. The top of each has a reference to “ACE”, which stands for Alpha Centauri Expeditions, the company that operates civilian flights to Pandora.

The Imagineers at Disney World are incredible story tellers that do an amazing job incorporating small details to bring their stories to life. These extra details help guests not only appreciate their surroundings but also feel like they are apart of the story themselves.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet Celebration Review

Disney's Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet Celebration Review

What better place to celebrate Earth Day than at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?  This year, Disney Nature presented the Party for the Planet as a way to connect guests with nature.

Here is our review of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet.

We picked up a Times Guide to take a look at the offerings for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet presented by Disneynature.  The celebration ran from April 21st-April 23rd this year.  One thing we would like to see next year would be to extend the celebration to the entire week.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet Celebration Review

We noticed that Boiled Books and Petal Pushers were on hand for Specialty Merchandise.  Both vendors work with real plants to create works of art.

The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail featured Cast Members along the trail to help us learn about certain species of fish and birds as well as many other animals.  Our favorite was the sleeping Hippo.

Near Flights of Wonder, there was the option to meet a Veterinarian, or a Cast Member, and learn about the care and well-being of a variety of birds.

Our favorite Veterinarian, Doc McStuffins, was ready to greet us at Conservation Station in Rafiki’s Planet Watch after we learned about the migration of birds.

Specialty Cupcakes are all the rage during Disney Special Events and Celebrations.  This Earthday Cupcake did not disappoint.  We particularly loved the Party for the Planet White Chocolate banner topper.

PhotoPass options and Magic Shots are a great addition to any Disney Parks Event.  Disney’s Animal Kingdom Party for the Planet Photo Frame option makes a great Facebook profile picture.  We were excited to find Kion the Lion Guard as a Magic Shot at Discovery Island along with the Simba Says game that challenged us to Roar like a lion.

We also really liked the Magic Shot with the Bugs Life Butterflies.

You can see that one here:

We enjoyed our day at Animal Kingdom celebrating Earth Day with the Party for the Planet presented by Disneynature.  The Cast Members were fantastic and taught us all about how to #ReversetheDecline!  If the Animal Kingdom hosts this celebration again next year, we will definitely be attending.

“The thing that impressed me about this race is the overall energy of the run,” said Nascimento. “Other races I have run in the past, there have been one or two people on the sideline cheering and here there is a whole different energy to it, which helped me perform at an entirely different level.”

Earlier in the race weekend, Nascimento won the Stars Wars 5K, and Star Wars 10K before taking the half marathon on Sunday. When asked about winning the weekend’s three racing events, Nascimento simply replied, “Mission accomplished.”

Sydney Devore, 25, of Lakeland, Fla. was the first female finisher of the 13.1-mile race, setting the race record with a winning time of 1:20:15. “This was a bucket list race for me, and I PR’d (set a personal record) by five minutes so I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out,” stated Devore. “It’s a dream come true, really.”

The 2nd annual Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side boasted a weekend of galactic family-friendly events, including the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo and the runDisney Kids Races, in addition to the Star Wars 5K, Star Wars 10K and half marathon. Shanghai Disney Celebrates Earth Month with The Lion King

The Lion King

The Lion King

Guests of the Shanghai Disney Resort in China were recently treated to a very special performance of the popular Lion King Musical. This performance marked the first-ever Mandarin production of the Broadway musical and was held to kick off the “Celebrate Earth” series at the Shanghai property. The event was held to raise funds for wildlife protection awareness in China and also honored the story about the “Circle of Life.”

Earth Month

This event marks the first Earth Month for newest Disney resort after its opening, and Disney teamed up with the China Wildlife Conservation Association and WildAid, an environmental non-profit, to bring you plenty of fun ways to celebrate and support this great big beautiful world of ours.

Shanghai Disney Celebrates Earth Month with The Lion King Earth Month

Disney’s new Join the Herd wildlife conservation campaign focuses on the protection of elephants and other endangered wild animals, and it all starts with a stunning photography exhibition at Walt Disney Grand Theatre. You can step into the natural habitat of animals that inspired The Lion King’s lovable characters and even make an ivory free pledge on a special wall installed at the theatre.

A “Celebrate Earth” fair will be set up at Disneytown and Shanghai Disneyland, including a host of environmentally-friendly themed games for kids. Everyone is invited to come out and learn how small changes make a big impact on the world around us. Don’t forget to take a stroll around Wishing Star Park during your visit and enjoy all the beauty nature has to offer.

Shanghai Disney Resort continues Disney’s longstanding commitment to engage communities in the protection of wildlife and their habitats. Since 1995, the Disney Conservation Fund has been working to protect wildlife, including efforts to reverse the decline of elephants, with more than $2.3 million in support to elephant projects in 25 countries across Asia and Africa.

Marvel’s ‘Avengers 4’ Won’t Film Back To Back With ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ May End the Modern MCU

Marvel’s ‘Avengers 4’ Won’t Film Back To Back With ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ May End the Modern MCU

Kevin Feige has been talking lately. Along with the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” junket, it seems the Marvel‘s movie boss has taken on a string of interviews, taking the opportunity to provide updates on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Including some particularly juicy comments about the ‘Avengers‘ movies and where the Marvel universe as a whole might head at the conclusion of Phase 3. And while that might be the more enticing storyline, let’s begin with the (relatively) smaller piece of news.

In a conversation with Collider, Feige provided a few updates on the production of “Avengers: Infinity War” and let it slide that the studio was no longer looking to shoot it back-to-back with the yet-untitled “Avengers 4.”

“We’re doing them one right after another… It became too complicated to cross-board them like that, and we found ourselves — again, something would always pay the price. We wanted to be able to focus and shoot one movie and then focus and shoot another movie.”

This is a totally understandable approach for Marvel to take. While back-to-back shoots became popular in the early 2000s — with Peter Jackson‘s ‘Lord Of The Rings‘ trilogy and the Wachowski Sisters‘ ‘Matrix‘ sequels both benefiting from the practice — the Marvel universe must be a logistical nightmare compared to those films. “Avengers: Infinity War” will feature anywhere between six and eight bonafide movie stars — not “good actors,” not “interesting talents,” but international stars — and trying to build a shooting schedule around them while also bringing together the disparate storylines introduced after “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” sounds like a real headache. Good on Marvel for bailing on the approach before it became a problem.

The big news, though, is Feige’s comments on the post-“Avengers 4” MCU. Feige spoke about the direction the studio might head after their Phase 3 movies had come to a close, and Feige admitted they may decide to go in another direction entirely:

“We’ve been lucky that [contract expirations] haven’t factored in too much. We’ve had people under contract for certain films, then we’ve had new ideas and new directions like Civil War like we wanted to do, and we’ve been lucky enough to make new contracts. Or Spider-Man: Homecoming, the cast has been awesome in their enthusiasm for the direction and the storylines that we’ve been telling. So it really does, right now, all start with where we wanna take the stories. Certainly as we get to Infinity War there is a sense of a climax if not a conclusion to, by the time we’re at untitled Avengers 4, the 22 movies that will have encompassed the first three phases of the MCU. And what happens after that will be very different. I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.”

There you go. Marvel was always going to have a tough time pivoting from its old cast to its new one. It’s been pretty loyal to the original comics, and those fans that do know the original cannon know that some characters still need to be introduced and some get … replaced. How accurate Feige and team decide to be to the material will be an interesting thing to watch unfold.
