Starting April 26th, the Single Rider Line at Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom will be temporarily closed for refurbishment.

The line is scheduled to re-open on May 16th.

The Standby and FastPass+ lines will remain open during this refurbishment.

Lion Guard Museum Exhibit Traveling to Children’s Museums Across the Country

A new museum exhibit based on the Disney Junior’s hit series “The Lion Guard ” will be making its debut at Miami Children’s Museum in January next year. This exhibit will continue the story of Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala from “The Lion King“, and his safari friends as they work together to protect the Pride Lands. After its six month run at the Miami Children’s Museum this exhibit will travel to other children’s museums across the country through 2022.

Spotlighting important learning areas such as social and self-development, problem solving, creative thinking and arts & culture, this one-of-a-kind exhibit will bring “The Lion Guard” story to life for young children and their families. Through hands-on activities and interactive and imaginative play, guests will be transported to the Pride Lands to discover the unique traits of each member of The Lion Guard team – Kion, the leader of the group and the fiercest in all of the Pride Lands; Bunga, a fearless honey badger and the Pride Lands’ bravest; Fuli, a confident cheetah and the fastest in the Pride Lands; Beshte, a friendly and good-spirited hippo and the strongest in the Pride Lands; and Ono, an intellectual egret who is keenest of sight – that allow them to work together to maintain balance in the Circle of Life.

Delicious Desserts at Pandora’s Satu’li Canteen are Delightful to the Eye (and Tastebuds!)

As we are starting to get the first look at some of the specialty food dishes that will be featured at Pandora – The World of Avatar’s Satu’li Canteen you can quickly see that the Walt Disney World Resort chefs placed a great deal of time in creating delicacies that enhance the theme and design of this new land. Disney Parks Blog recently shared the chef’s storytelling magic behind the creation of two specialty desserts for Animal Kingdom’s Satu’li Canteen, the new land’s fast casual restaurant.

“We watched ‘Avatar’ and noted that the Na’vi are in stellar shape – very lean, with beautiful skin and bright yellow eyes,” said Executive Pastry Chef Stefan Riemer. The chefs took inspiration from the film’s tropical environment and the Na’vi colors to create the Blueberry Cheesecake with Passion Fruit Curd. Umm, umm cheesecake!

Chocolate lovers the Chefs had you mind with the creation of this next mouth-watering dessert. Using the inspiration of the healthy Na’vi the Walt Disney World Resort chefs created a Chocolate Cake with a Crunchy Cookie, Banana Cream and Goji Berries. Riemer explained “We used dark chocolate because it’s rich in antioxidants, then add a little crunch with a cookie wafer and the contrast of creamy mousse.” The cake is topped with banana cream, made with a few simple (but delicious) ingredients: cream, white chocolate and bananas, with a little drizzle of lemon. “The chocolate-banana is a great flavor combination,” says Riemer. “Then we added goji berry on top – it tastes a little like a raisin, and we hydrated it with simple syrup. The taste of the goji berry with the banana cream and chocolate is a lovely balance of flavors.” Excuse me while I wipe my mouth.

Disney Descendants 2 announces summer premiere date across 5 networks

A far-reaching, unprecedented and simultaneous premiere has been set for the Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants 2” across five networks within the Disney|ABC Television Group, FRIDAY, JULY 21 (8:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform and Lifetime. The announcement, made today by Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney|ABC Television Group, continues the group’s commitment to showcasing its programming in new, innovative ways to reach an even wider audience, joining the announcement of ABC’s exhibition of “Marvel’s Inhumans” in IMAX theatres worldwide this fall.

This extraordinary “Descendants 2” summer block party ushers in the sequel to 2015’s “Descendants,” the fifth most watched movie in cable TV history (12.2 million Total Viewers) and will extend to each network’s branded digital and several on-demand platforms (live feeds on apps; plus on-demand on the Disney Channel, ABC, Freeform and Lifetime apps, beginning Friday, July 21, at 10:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. PDT; and on Disney Channel, ABC, Freeform and Lifetime VOD beginning Saturday, July 22).

This weekend, “Descendants 2” stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson and Booboo Stewart will make a special appearance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards to bring fans the exclusive world premiere of the “Ways to Be Wicked” music video featuring never-before-seen “Descendants 2” footage. The award show will be telecast SUNDAY, APRIL 30 (7:00 – 9:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel.

In “Descendants 2,” the story deepens as the Villain Kids (AKA “VKs”) – Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay – continue to try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royal becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

New Castle Holiday Shoppe Opens At Disneyland

On Saturday, April 23rd Disneyland welcomed it’s newest shopping opportunity Castle Holiday Shoppe to Fantasyland. Located just through the gates of Sleeping Beauty Castle, this new store will offer holiday decorations to the park’s guests.

Previously this location was the home to the Castle Heraldry Shoppe which gave guests the opportunity to look up their family name and see if it had a family crest associated to it. Merchandise was available for purchase and the store would print their family crest on it for display. Other items at the store included specialty swords and collectible coat of arms.

Much speculation was made by park guests on what would replace the Castle Heraldry. Many fans guessed that the space would be used to extend the queuing area for Peter Pan’s Flight or possibly a new meet & greet opportunity.

Disneyland surprised everyone by keeping this as a retail space. Disneyland officials are reporting that this new shop is a permanent installment to the park but will offer merchandise that is updated regularly.

The Castle Holiday Shoppe will offer a variety of holiday decorations like ornaments and stockings. There will also be a Cast Member available to personalize ornaments for their guests.

Disney parks are always shifting and changing trying to provide their guests with the best experience. Walt Disney himself even said that “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Our friends at Vivoli il Gelato Disney Springs are celebrating this special day by serving up some sweet blueberry treats this week. Be sure to stop by and see what they have created for us.

Florida blueberry farmers carefully tend to these small fruits throughout the year to help produce the freshest pies in the country. Details Emerge About Banshee Connect Experience at Pandora-The World of Avatar

We have a bit more information on the Banshee Connect Experience that is coming to Pandora–The World of Avatar. Nothing like this experience has been at Walt Disney World before and guests will definitely be flocking to see it and claim a banshee of their own.

Disney released a picture recently where you can see brightly colored banshees perched on branches. At Banshee Connect Experience guests will enter into the area where the banshees are waiting and then a banshee is paired with a specific guest. The guest then has the option to purchase the banshee that was selected just for them. No doubt this will be the souvenir everyone will want to take home from Pandora-The World of Avatar.

Disney Releases New Job Numbers For Pandora – The World Of Avatar

May 27th marks the opening day of Pandora – The World of Avatar. When James Cameron began talks with Disney about creating this new world in 2011, the public has been eagerly awaiting this epic new experience. Even though the focus has been on how Pandora will change the landscape of Animal Kingdom, the reach of Pandora’s influence has gone far beyond the park.

To create Disney’s one-of-a-kind experience, over 800 pre-production jobs were required in Central Florida over the past 6 years.

“When you’re building an immersive land such as this, it takes all types of individuals,” Djuan Rivers, vice president of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, said. “There are people who are technical experts, there are artisans, there are crafts, there are laborers.”

But the hiring process didn’t stop there. Once Pandora is complete Disney will need 700 more operations positions filled to keep the land running smoothly. Some of these positions include cast members for the new restaurant and gift shops, and also cast members who will need to be trained in the art of the Na’vi culture, dress, and even their language.

The backstory of these new cast members are explained by Imagineering producer Matt Beiler who said “It’s a group of people who have come to Pandora, and they’ve fallen in love with it, and decided to stay here”.

Pandora will dazzle park visitors with it’s massive floating mountains, bioluminescent jungles and plant life, and a special river that flows throughout. Disney will also be showing off it’s creative side with the flowers and food native to the Na’vi culture.

“It’s going to be something that opens their eyes, and their mouths will be wide open at the beauty of this place,” Beiler said. “It’s truly going to be a place that you’ve never seen before, that guests have never experienced before.”

One more month until Pandora – The World of Avatar opens to the public. Once it does we’ll be able to see how all of that hard work has paid off.

“Avatar” Sequels Get Theatrical Release Dates, Beginning In December 2020

After a couple of push backs, all four “Avatar” movie sequels have official release dates. Discovering more of the world of Pandora will happen on December 18, 2020; December 17, 2021; December 20, 2024; and December 19, 2025.

The announcement came on Saturday from the movie’s official Facebook page. James Cameron first announced the planned sequels a year ago with the goal of releasing “Avatar 2” in December 2018.
