Work Continues on EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion

Work is still ongoing in Epcot’s Canada Pavilion. Construction crews have recently added plywood over the structural addition to the Hotel du Canada facade in the pavilion, obscuring the progress of the ongoing refurbishment project.

Recent observations at the Hotel du Canada facade in EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion reveal a significant change in the ongoing refurbishment project. Previously, a visible steel framework extended from the back of the faux hotel structure. However, this framework and the surrounding wall sections are now concealed by plywood. This suggests that the structure in progress is likely a new awning or similar feature.

Just below the newly constructed awning, a window or doorway remains visible. This area previously housed Le Boutiques des Provinces, a shop on the first floor of the Hotel du Canada. However, the store has been closed for an extended period. The current construction work may signal a potential reopening of this space, perhaps with a new purpose or tenant.

Plywood now encloses the pre-existing doorways of the Hotel du Canada, extending beyond the construction walls on the opposite side of the pavilion. While Le Boutiques des Provinces has been closed for years, the walkway adjacent to the hotel offers guests an elevated perspective of the pavilion’s scenic water features.

Construction has been happening on and off in the Canada Pavilion for a couple of years now. Hopefully it’ll all be complete soon!

Wine Bar in France Pavilion Temporarily Closed for Refurbishment at EPCOT

Les Vins de France, a popular wine bar nestled within the charming France Pavilion at EPCOT, has temporarily closed its doors. This beloved spot, known for its extensive selection of French wines and delightful atmosphere, is currently undergoing a refurbishment.

Les Vins de France, the charming wine bar adjacent to the France Pavilion’s theater, is currently closed for refurbishment. While the My Disney Experience app may still display operating hours, the venue’s doors remain shut.

This closure coincides with the traditionally slower season at Walt Disney World, minimizing inconvenience for park guests.

Guests typically access Les Vins de France through the charming La Maison du Vin façade, however, these entrances are currently closed. Within the adjacent gift shop, construction barriers and black curtains obscure the wine bar from view, further indicating its temporary closure.

As Les Vins de France remains closed for refurbishment, a temporary French wine bar has been established between the Morocco and Japan pavilions. This makeshift venue occupies a former merchandise kiosk, with a lingering “Holiday Market” sign serving as a reminder of the recent EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

Disney Company Commits $15 Million to Los Angeles Area Fire Relief

The Walt Disney Company is deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Recognizing the profound impact on our community, including many of our own employees, we are committing $15 million to support immediate relief efforts and long-term rebuilding.

Walt Disney Company Rewarding Shareholders with $1 Per Share Cash Dividend Payout 2

Our initial focus is on providing essential aid through organizations like the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. We are also dedicated to supporting our employees who have been affected by the fires, offering assistance through our Employee Relief Fund.

As the community begins to recover, Disney will collaborate with local businesses and organizations to contribute to rebuilding efforts and help restore the areas impacted by the fires.

Disney Cruise Line Shares New Details on Expanding Fleet with Smaller Ships

Disney Cruise Line has unveiled exciting new details about its fleet expansion, including a new class of ships and a fourth Wish-class vessel. These ships, slated for delivery between 2027 and 2031, will be built at Meyer Werft in Germany and designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, as announced at the D23 Expo last year.

New Ship Class

The three vessels in Disney’s new ship class will feature industry-leading technology and design to expand Disney Cruise Line’s global reach and support its environmental goals. Able to carry 3,000 Guests and measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons, they will be 20 percent larger than the Disney Magic class and smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Wish classes, ultimately allowing Disney Cruise Line to access more ports and destinations across the globe, bringing its world-class entertainment, incredible dining, Guest service, and uniquely Disney experiences to more families in more places. The three ships are planned for delivery in 2029, 2030 and 2031.

Among the lightest cruise ships of their size in the industry, the new vessels will save fuel with a streamlined hull, next-generation power and propulsion systems, and numerous other operations optimized for energy efficiency. In addition to an innovative design and the efficient use of building materials from bow to stern, the ships will be outfitted with energy-efficient systems and a battery system to support and supplement the main engines.

When in port, the new vessels can rely on shore power technology to turn off their engines and “plug in” to a port’s energy grid to run onboard systems. They will also have the capability and flexibility to operate on a variety of fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil and renewable methanol fuels, while remaining adaptable to additional fuel options that become available to the cruise industry. The new class will also continue Disney Cruise Line’s long-standing initiatives to minimize waste, conserve water and align with The Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals.

Fourth Wish Class Ship

In addition to this new class of vessel, Disney Cruise Line will introduce an additional sister ship to the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. The ship, set for delivery in 2027, will be approximately 144,000 gross tons, accommodate 4,000 Guests, and be powered by liquefied natural gas.
