Guests visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar are are fully immersed in the far away planet of Pandora. Everything is designed for guests to be able to connect with the nature, animals, and the overall living, breathing planet of Pandora. Guests are invited to experience everything from riding on the back of a banshee to tasting a traditional Na’vi meal at Satu’li Canteen.

With the clip below, you can experience another way to connect with this world – through music.

Swotu Wayä (“sacred place of song”), is located in the heart of Mo’ara Valley, and is where guests can interact with a collection of instruments fashioned by the Na’vi that are connected into the moon’s root system. As guests play instruments, they connect to a living memory of song that responds to fill the space around them with music and light.

At various times throughout the day and into the evening, a group of musicians gather at Swotu Wayä to perform a traditional Na’vi Drum Ceremony. Led by a musicologist who has studied Na’vi musical culture, the group also includes an expatriate from Earth and a native Pandoran who is among the first generation of humans born on Pandora.

They sound truly magical! Can’t wait to see them in person.

Disneyland Resort Now Linking Guests Photo to Admission Ticket Changing Re-Entry Policy

Say goodbye to Disneyland’s hand-stamping, as of last Sunday July 9th this form of re-entry for guests with multi-day tickets, is a thing of the past. With changes like the new FastPass system and the upcoming Maxpass service, it comes as no surprise that Disneyland Resort has changed their re-entry process.

For a few years Disneyland Resort guests with annual passes have had their photo on file eliminating the need for hand stamps. Now all guests, including those with one-day tickets, will have their photo attached electronically to their tickets.

With the new process, when passing through the turnstiles upon re-entry at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park guests will only need their admission ticket or annual pass. When a guest scans their ticket their photo will appear on a computer screen for the Cast Member to verify their identity. Cast Members will be on hand to photograph guests using their tickets for the first time. The new process will help crack down on guests attempting to fake their own hand stamp for re-entry, or passing off admission to someone else.

Woman Suing Disney Due To A Fall Resulting In Injury At Boardwalk Villas

A complaint was filed by an Illinois woman against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts alleging neglect on June 13, 2017. Mary Millonzi states that while at the Disney Boardwalk Villas she was injured while visiting the shops and restaurants.

Millonzi alleges in that on June 25, 2015 while shopping she tripped on a raised screw and fell. The complaint states that she suffered bodily injury, resulting pain and suffering, disfigurement, mental anguish and aggravation of a previously existing condition.

A trial by jury has been requested by Millonzi and she is seeking judgement against Disney for damages of more than $15,000. The plaintiff holds Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly permitted and/or allowed a dangerous hazard to exist and failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The Disney Diet: Man Loses 40 Pounds Visiting Disneyland Everyday for Over Five Years

This diet sounds too good to be true… but it’s not! When I think of any Disney Park my mind jumps to the churros, specialty cupcakes, and all-you-can-eat buffets. It’s definitely not the first place you think of going to visit to lose weight.

Jeff Reitz, 44 of California, did just that though! He manged to lose over 40 pounds, 2 pants sizes, since he started visiting the Disneyland Park everyday in 2012. Reitz is an Annual Passholder and learned his way around the food scene of the park to work it to his advantage. That and of course all the steps you add up when you are walking around your favorite park.

Reitz says his favorite Disney delicacy is the ice cream nachos at the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland. The ice cream nachos were originally created for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2014 are part of a “secret menu.” They consist of a crushed waffle cone, there to four scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and three cherries. As you can see below, the end result is actually a Hidden Mickey!

Another tip from Reitz is to forgo the Mickey-shaped pretzels and “Get the Bavarian-style from Sonoma Terrace Beer Garden that’s almost twice the size but only costs 25 cents more.”

At the end of the day, Reitz’s drastic weight loss can be attributed to just walking around the park each day.

“I enjoy the park and walking around every day,” Reitz said. “I’m always meeting new people and characters and cast members.”

John Oliver, host of of the HBO political talk-show”Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”, is set to join the cast of the Disney’s upcoming live-action “The Lion King“. Oliver will voice the the role of high-strung Zazu the king’s royal adviser.

The Lion King has already seen a number of big names join the cast including James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Donald Glover (Simba), Billy Eichner (Timon), and Seth Rogen (Pumba). After his technologically groundbreaking production of Disney’s “The Jungle Book”, Jon Favreau is returning to direct a new re-imagining of “The Lion King”.

Disney’s The Lion King will be in theaters July 19, 2019.

Disney Springs Portabello Restaurant Has a New Name – Terralina

We recently reported that the Portobello Restaurant at Disney Springs was closing to undergo an extensive refurbishment and would reopen with a new name. Today, we have learned that the restaurant has been renamed “Terralina Crafted Italian” or “Terralina.”

In addition to a new name and a new look, guests can expect a new menu when the restaurant opens its doors again. Here is complete information of what we can expect to find when we enter the new restaurant as well as what will be cooked up in the kitchen!

Life is meant to be savored through the simplest of pleasures.

D23 Expo 2017 Will Host Mickey’s of Glendale Pop-Up Shop

Mickey’s of Glendale, Walt Disney Imagineering’s (WDI) famed employee store, will be hosting a pop-up shop at the D23 Expo 2017 this weekend. Typically this store is only open to Disney Imagineers and cast members, so this is extremely awesome! I wanted to share with all of you some of the unique Disney Parks-inspired merchandise that will be available for purchase.

Disney Imagineers worked with the Mickey’s of Glendale team to create items using their original artwork. Some of these Imagineering Exclusive pieces include camp shirts featuring artwork and patterns created from iconic symbols from Pirates of the Caribbean and Adventureland.

You’ll also find clothing that honors Star Tours which is celebrating its 30 year anniversary at the Disney Parks this year.

Make sure you hurry for this limited-edition collection as it won’t last long. For the first time ever, Mickey’s of Glendale will feature bronze collectibles celebrating Walt Disney Imagineering’s heritage. These are going to go very fast as only 25 pieces of each figure will be available.

And to round everything out, Micky’s of Glendale will be offering unique merchandise featuring designs inspired by the stories being shared at the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts: A Galaxy of Stories pavilion also in the Expo. We don’t know what they will be yet but I’m sure it’s going to be awesome!
