Just a reminder to those hoping to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this season that it is important to book your tickets well in advance to guarantee your space.  This morning we noticed that the first party which will be held on November 9th is already sold out.

Those at Disney that week that are hoping to attend the Magic Kingdom’s Christmas party may want to book your tickets for November 10th which as of going to print is still showing availability. The parties each year are wildly popular bringing in a mix of both vacationers and locals and it’s not uncommon to see many of the dates sell out as we near Christmas.

Here is a complete list of party dates for the 2017 Season:

November 9 (SOLD OUT), 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 26 and 28
December 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 22

Adult tickets range in price from$89 – $109 depending on dates. Tickets can be purchased at disneyworld.com.

Brand New Interactive Show Called ‘The SpectaculuLAB’ Debuting In EPCOT In November

A brand new interactive show is coming to Innoventions at EPCOT this November. “The SpectacuLAB” will have guests exploring their imagination, creativity and curiosity in a fun new way. Real scientists will be joined with their tech savvy intern will invite guests to join in on a series of thrilling experiments that put scientific principles like ultrasonic pressure, barometric pressure, acceleration and force to the test. This no doubt is the reason for the wide-eyed and naïve “scientific interns” casting call we brought to your attention back in August.

Don’t worry this isn’t just another boring science lesson. This show promises to be both funny and fascinating for all ages. Giving us all the opportunity to participate in the demonstrations and discover how each scientific principle has inspired amazing technologies we enjoy today.

The Walt Disney World sponsor Murata is collaborating with Disney to bring this show to life. Murata is a global leader in the design, manufacture and supply of advanced electronic components, and Science from Scientists, a nonprofit organization that aims to improve STEM literacy at schools.

The Disneyland Paris partner for over 20 years, France Telecom Orange, is celebrating the park’s 25th anniversary by offering a very unique experience. Located opposite the Opera Garnier on Rue Halévy, their Orange Opera Boutique is giving Disney fans a chance to enter the glittering world of Disneyland Paris through a series of dazzling experiences until November 4, 2017.

Upon entering the boutique, guests are given an RFID badge and asked to follow white stars that guide them to the second floor to participate in several magical activities:

  • Experience a changing display that retraces the stages of the park throughout the years
  • Guests will immerse themselves in the new Disney Stars on Parade parade thanks to virtual reality
  • Dance with Mickey and his friends in a unique holographic experience
  • Challenge friends to an interactive virtual game of conducting fireworks high above Sleeping Beauty castle
  • Take home a souvenir picture of your experience

After each experience guests will scan their RFID badge to see if they have won a free gift (pens, Disney keychains, Orange chargers, hands spinner, etc.). If the RFID badge has been scanned after all experiences then there is even a grand prize that can be won each day for a Disneyland Paris Vacation.

The series kicks off with Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this Holiday season. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated film was released in 1937, making Snow White the first Disney Princess. The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs themed collection of totes, wristlets, backpacks and accessories celebrates the film’s upcoming 80th anniversary. The must-have styles feature vibrant pops of apple red balanced with splashes of black, gold, and white along with prints of magic mirrors, poison apples and Snow White herself. Walt Disney World and Union Fail to Reach Agreement on Cast Member Wages

As we have been reporting, the largest Union of Walt Disney World Cast Members and Disney have been involved in negotiations since August to increase Cast Member’s wages. Both sides met at the bargaining table again yesterday and failed to meet an agreement.

Since no agreement was met, both parties agreed to extend the existing contract through December 1, 2017.

“All of our Cast Members earn nearly $2 more an hour than Florida’s minimum wage—and on average, our full-time STCU Cast earn over $13 an hour, including overtime and premiums,” Disney said in a statement. “We agree our Cast Members deserve a raise, which is why we’ve offered an increase of up to 5 percent over the next two years for most existing Cast Members.”

Last, week Cast Members held a rally to bring awareness to their cause. The rally directly in front of Walt Disney World and was broken up by police after two hours.

Negotiations are set to began after the Thanksgiving Break on November 28, 2017.

Improvements to Parking and Transportation Coming to the Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort is set to undergo a multi-year expansion, and part of that includes upgrading, improving and adding new parking and transportation enhancements that have been long envisioned for the resort. An all-new parking structure is to be built on the current Pinocchio surface parking lot next to Mickey & Friends.

This new 6,500-space structure is designed to dramatically improve parking and traffic flow throughout the resort. It is expected to significantly speed up guest arrival by providing a 60 percent increase in the number of access lanes and adding additional parking capacity on the west side of the resort.

The additional parking capacity and access lanes will streamline vehicle arrivals on the west side of the resort and eliminate backups onto city streets. In addition, the tram boarding area will be reconfigured to enhance the transportation experience for guests parking at both the new structure and Mickey & Friends.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2018, with the structure set to open in 2019.

La Nouba, Cirque du Soleil’s currently running show at Walt Disney World, will be holding its final performance on December 31, 2017. This Disney Springs staple has been been dazzling audiences for nearly twenty years. But what’s next for the custom-built, freestanding theater? Many have speculated, but it appears that just because La Nouba is leaving doesn’t mean Cirque is saying goodbye.

Jerry Nadal, Senior Vice President of the Resident Shows Division for Cirque du Soleil gave this statement. “We are incredibly proud of the success that La Nouba has had for nearly two decades. We want to thank Walt Disney World Resort for a wonderful relationship over the years. We look forward to announcing what’s next for Cirque du Soleil.”

Disney has also stated that, “Given Disney’s strong relationship with Cirque du Soleil over the years, we may soon have news to share about exciting new entertainment coming to Disney Springs”.

BREAKING NEWS: New Hotel Announced for Disneyland

We have some super exciting news to pass along to you this evening. A brand new hotel has been announced for Disneyland Resort! This will be the fourth “on-property” Hotel for Disneyland and the first Four Diamond Hotel to open at Disneyland in more than two decades. The hotel will be located near the west end of Downtown Disney and provide a new entrance to the Disneyland Resort.

The stunning 700-room hotel will feature a sophisticated design and be a game-changer for Anaheim, creating a dynamic dining, entertainment and hotel experience for resort visitors and local residents. Extensive landscaping and water elements will create a resort oasis, showcasing nature on every level of the hotel. The hotel’s location embraces the iconic Disneyland Monorail with a dedicated platform inside the hotel for direct transport into Disneyland park.

Guest rooms, public spaces and gardens will provide views of the Downtown Disney District. In addition, an upper-level restaurant and lounge will give guests a view of the popular Disneyland park fireworks.

The ground level of the hotel will include shops and restaurants opening onto an expansive landscaped plaza complete with playful water features, creating a gathering place for guests and visitors. The new hotel also connects all four Hotels of the Disneyland Resort through lush gardens and beautifully landscaped walkways, transforming the gateway on the west side and creating a welcoming entry for our Disneyland Resort guests.

And that’s not all. This new hotel creates great benefits for the community, generating approximately $25 million in new taxes in its first five years of operation that go directly to Anaheim’s general fund. It also will create thousands of additional construction and permanent jobs and attract new hotel guests to the resort area.

Construction is scheduled to start in summer 2018, with a grand opening slated for 2021. An official name for the hotel has not been announced at this time.

Annual Passholders May Soon Be Able to Enter Walt Disney World Parks Even Quicker

The Inquisitr is reporting another perk that might become available for Annual Passholders. They soon may be able to bypass the long security lines at the Parks.

Within the past years, the security checkpoints at the Magic Kingdom have changed locations in an effort to cut down on the lines at the entrance to the Park. Guests who are going to the Magic Kingdom from one of the three Monorail Resorts or the Transportation & Ticket Center receive their security check prior to getting on the Monorail or ferry boat.

While Annual Passholders already have their own dedicated entrance at each of the Parks, they still have to go through the sometimes long security screening process. The Inquisitr says, “Since the majority of Annual Passholders are those who visit the WDW parks quite frequently, this would make sense as those guests know exactly what can and can’t enter with them. Not only would this speed up the process for them, but it would take more out of the security lines and speed up everything for everyone as well.”

This process would be similar to the TSA pre-screening programs such as Clear or PreCheck line at airports. These programs enable frequent-fliers to go through an expedited security screening process prior to their flights.

Of course, nothing is official until Disney confirms it. But, Disney is constantly trying to find ways to make visits to the Parks more enjoyable for Guests.

STK In Disney Springs Lets Bartender Go After Negative Yelp Review and Is Now Facing Lawsuit

STK, the upscale steakhouse located at The Landing at Disney Springs is in the news this week, however not for its delicious cuisine but rather for firing a member of its bartending staff after a negative review surfaced on the reviewing site Yelp.  The bartender is now filing a lawsuit against the company on the grounds of racial discrimination.

According to an article in the Orlando Sentinel,  the lawsuit filed in the U.S District Court in Orlando argues that Serkan Sorkon, a former bartender at STK was fired after a negative post about the bartender was left on Yelp in January of this year.  The user writing the post said they did not know the name of the bartender only that he was Turkish and was making negative comments about the USA that left the reviewer and other guests feeling uncomfortable.

According to the lawsuit, Sorkon was the only Turkish employee working at the time.  Sorkon denies making the comments and argues that he was not given time to refute the comments before he was let go from STK.   Sorkon also argues that additional negative reviews were posted regarding other employees at the restaurant but these employees were not disciplined or dismissed, leaving Sorkon and his lawyer Ryan Morgan to concluded that Sorkon was let go due to his ethnicity.

As of going to print STK has not officially commented on the incident.
