Construction Progress at Caribbean Beach Resort

In recent months we have reported about the renovation/construction going on over at Carribean Beach resort. With the Old Port Royale, Skyliners, and the construction of Disney’s Riviera Resort, the newest DVC addition, a lot is going down, and up, over there. It was originally stated that construction was supposed to be complete in late 2017, now we no longer have an end date. These are some really extensive projects, so it’s no wonder it’s taking a long time. Take a look at some of the photos we have grabbed recently on the current construction going on.

This is Old Port Royale where the food court and gift ship were located. That is still closed as they are in full swing of renovations.

Construction Progress at Caribbean Beach Resort

Here you can see cranes currently building the tower for the new confirmed DVC property, Disney’s Riviera Resort. This will be a 10-12 story project that will be going up.

Other construction they are working on is the Gondolas, called the Disney Skyliner, will take guests from Carribean Beach to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Very exciting things in the works for Carribean Beach resort. We can’t wait to see more progress!

Could BeaverTails Be Returning To Walt Disney World?

We recently came across a rumor from WildGravityTravels.com that the popular BeaverTails pastry food trucks will be returning to Disney World. It’s been the early 2000s since we have last seen the addicting to some pastry at Disney World. That could be changing soon as the process has reportedly been started to offer BeaverTails once again at the most magical place on earth.

Could BeaverTails Be Returning To Walt Disney World?

Last time they were on property was at the Canada Pavilion at Epcot. Supposedly this time will reportedly be much different and bigger! The vendors could possibly be coming to Disney Springs given the rumors. While we’re not sure if it will be a cart, trailer or actual building, the process and talks have reportedly started.

BeaverTails was started 1978 and based out of Canada. They are known for their delicious pastries. BeaverTails has traveled as far as Davos, Switzerland, Washington, DC, and Iqaluit, Nunavut to deliver treats to pastry loving fans.

Could The Hall of Presidents Open Before Christmas?

Hey there Chip and Co Readers! After months of no updates, it looks like something might be happening at the Hall of Presidents. WDW Magic is now reporting that “sources familiar with the matter” are stating the attraction will reopen before Christmas. The Walt Disney World website is still showing no official opening date.

The attraction has been closed for refurbishment since January 17, 2017. With the addition of President Trump, The Hall of Presidents is getting a new show, and a complete theater upgrade including a new sound system, lighting, and high-definition projection system. The multi-screen viewing experience you may have seen in prior versions of the attraction is returning with an even wider vantage point of our country’s history.

Despite some media reports, it was confirmed by Disney that President Trump will have a speaking role in The Hall of Presidents, like every president since 1993. According to Jacquee Wahler, vice president of communications for Disney “The same thing that we’ve done with other presidents, is the same plan we have for President Trump.” When asked if Trump would have a speaking role, Wahler said that he would.

Of course, nothing is official until Disney confirms it!

SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration: Where The Season Meets The Sea 2017 Review

SeaWorld Orlando's Christmas Celebration

SeaWorld Orlando is hosting its Christmas Celebration Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from November 24th through December 10th. Beginning December 15th, the Christmas Celebration will take place nightly through December 31st. We were on hand for opening night of SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration: Where The Season Meets The Sea. Here is our Review of this busy fun-filled evening.

As you enter the park be sure to pick up an Event Guide that lists the Shows, Packages and Specialty Brews & Bites Packages available throughout the evening. Have your photo taken by the giant Christmas Tree with Sydney the Shark. You might even find an Elf or two as well.

Your Event Guide will be helpful when choosing which shows you want to attend and may give you some ideas on what foods you wish to sample. From festive holiday foods, to Specialty Hot Chocolate, Holiday Brews and amazing shows, there is something for every member of the family.

We began our day with a journey through Antarctica and a ride on The Empire of the Penguin. Be sure to bring a sweater as penguins love the cold!

Elmo’s Christmas Wish takes place in the Seaport Theater. Even though there are four shows daily, arrive at least 30 minutes prior to showtime as this popular show does fill up. Set to fun holiday music, Elmo and his friends sing along to share with the audience their Christmas Wishes.

Traveling with little ones? Be sure to visit Shamu’s Happy Harbor to enjoy some festive and fun family rides. The entire area has been decorated for the Holidays and is worth seeing even if you do not have children in your party.

SeaWorld Orlando has strategically placed some fun family photo opportunities around the park for their Christmas Celebration.

Are you a coffed, tea or cocoa drinker? Enjoy a hot beverage in your refillable Souvenir Mug. With refills costing .99 cents, this makes for a great deal and leaves you with a Christmas Celebration Souvenir. If you are looking for some great food options you may want to try the all-new Dinner with Rudolph or a Tasting & Brew Package to tempt your palate.

Cypress Bakery has some lovely sweet treats. Try a Sprinkle Brownie, a Pumpkin Cheesecake or a Bacon Cupcake.

O’ Wondrous Night is a beautiful show. They begin seating one hour prior to showtime so arrive early! The singing voices of the actors, and the amazement you feel as the Camels enter the Nautilus Theater, make this incredible show worth the wait.

The Christmas Trail opens at 5:00pm. Stop by one of the Cottages for a Specialty Brew such as the Cranberry Kringle or a Winter Wonderland Hot Toddy. If you are looking for something without alcohol we recommend a Specialty Hot Cocoa. Our personal favorites were the Peppermint and the Gingerbread. A fun treat to try is the S’mores served in a Waffle Cone.

Be sure to stroll through Rudolph’s ChristmasTown to meet some of the characters from the movie and see the interactive life-size story boards.

The Sea of Trees Show and Display can be seen from any vantage point along the lakefront. Watch as the trees dance to the music and reflect off the water. A lovely display that we enjoyed from wooden walkway bridge.

If you can only see one show, then it must be SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration of Winter Wonderland on Ice. From the violinist and the backdrop of the Sea of Trees, to the skating, dancing and costuming this show is a spectacular must-see show!

We ended our evening with Shamu Christmas Miracles. This stunning show is resplendant in its rendition of music, miracles and the Christmas wonder through the eyes of children. Do you Believe in Miracles?

SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration: Where the Season Meets The Sea 2017 was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the shows, the food, the displays, the photo-ops and the opportunity to enjoy time together as a family. We recommend a two-day visit as you will be hard-pressed to experience all of the shows in one evening. We missed a couple of them and are planning to return before the season ends to explore the other shows and some of the Brews & Bites along the Christmas Trail.

Today comScore announced the official worldwide weekend box office estimates for this Thanksgiving weekend (ending November 26, 2017). Disney’s “Coco” received glowing reviews from critics and overtook Warner Brothers “Justice League” as the top box office film over the holiday.

The film has already become the highest-grossing film of all time in Mexico, earning 965M pesos since its October 27 release, surpassing the 827M pesos earned by The Avengers during its entire run.

Coco tells a story rich with universal themes surrounding family and following your dreams, but the film also boasts dazzling animation and innovative visual effects that transport audiences, along with young protagonist Miguel, from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Dead.
