As you approach the park entrance, the shadow of Oogie Boogie sets the scene for a frightful night of Halloween fun! Journey down Buena Vista Street and take in the, The Nightmare Before Christmas theming decorating the street.

Disneyland Resort's Halloween Time Expanding to Disney California Adventure Park

Disneyland park will feature guests favorites like the Pumpkin Festival, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and Spaace Mountain Ghost Galaxy.

Mickey’s Halloween Party has returned to Disneyland Resort and with Halloween Time’s expansion to Disney California Adventure, comes changes for party guests. Halloween Party guests will be able to enjoy Disney California Adventure park as a “pre-party,” arriving three hours prior to party time, guests can explore both parks with their party admission. Mickey’s Halloween Party will also include Disney PhotoPass, to capture all your spooky memories.

Mickey’s Halloween Party includes:

Disney Characters – including Disney villains
Halloween Screams, a special fireworks spectacular
Frightfully Fun Parade featuring The Headless Horseman
Trick-or-Treating

Halloween Party tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 24th, and are on sale now for Annual Passholders, Disney Visa Card holders, and Disney Vacation Club members.

Experience the Spirit of Dia de los Muertos with a New Seasonal Event at Disney California Adventure Park

Dia de los Muertos

Disney California Adventure park is introducing a new seasonal experience, this fall. Join the festivities and celebrate family and the spirit of the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. This new seasonal experience will be held from Sept. 15 through Nov. 2.

The Dia de los Muertos event will be an immersive celebration filled with special entertainment that will feature musicians and dancers, even interactive activities that include a representation of Mexican folk art. There will even be special décor as well as foods inspired by this Mexican celebration of family. The concept art for the Aborl De La Vida or Tree of Life looks enchanting with bold and beautiful colors that complement the essence of the tradition.

The new seasonal experience will also feature the upcoming Disney•Pixar animated motion picture, “Coco”. There will be special themed experiences inspired by the film as part of the celebration. On November 5, select elements of the celebration will move to “a bug’s land” where they will be presented alongside a special sneak peek of the film. The sneak peek of the film will continue through the holiday season until January 7, 2018.

Disneyland turns 62 years young today! Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955 and to mark the occasion 62 characters were on hand in Town Square with the Disneyland Band and Dapper Dans to wish Disneyland a Happy Anniversary. Take a look at everyone who came out to celebrate!

Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Now Open at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Today marks the official grand opening of Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

A breathtaking DVC property, Copper Creek Villas was inspired by the industry and architecture of the Pacific Northwest and features natural elements like wood and stone in its design as well as features that give a tip of the hat to the American transcontinental railroad.

The property offers a range of room options to accommodate families of all sizes including: Deluxe Studios which sleep up to four guests, larger one and two bedroom villas and there’s even 3 bedroom options for large groups travelling together. Many of the properties also boast full kitchens and in room laundry facilities.

In addition there are 26 luxurious waterfront Cascade Cabins that need to be seen to be believed. Each cabin features two-bedrooms, has 2 bathrooms, plush living room and dining room spaces along with a screened in wraparound porch with a private hot tub. The cabins can comfortably sleep a family of 8.

While staying at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins guests have shared access to all of the amazing amenities at Wilderness Lodge Resort including the Geyser Point Bar & Grill which opened earlier this year and offers amazing views of Bay Lake. There’s also Roaring Forks, the properties original quick service restaurant which has recently re-opened and now features a new look and outdoor seating.

Guests can also take a dip in the resorts new leisure pool, Boulder Ridge Cove. This area is themed after the legendary mining history of the Northwest and features a zero-depth entry pool, whirlpool spa and rustic cabanas. Whoopi Goldberg Wants To Bring "Song Of The South" Back

There were so many surprises announced at the D23 Expo this past weekend. The first one of the convention was that Whoopi Goldberg was to be a surprise addition to the Disney Legends honored on Friday.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies Goldberg was asked what her favorite movie is. Instead of giving that answer she instead wanted to talk about the movie Song of the South.

“I’m trying to find a way to get people to start having conversations about bringing Song of the South back,” she said of the film. “So we can talk about what it was and where it came from and why it came out.”

Goldberg also referenced the controversial crows in Disney’s 1941 animated classic Dumbo. “I want people to start putting crows in the merchandise, because those crows sing the song in Dumbo everybody remembers.” The song Goldberg refers to is “When I See An Elephant Fly”. “I want to highlight all the little stuff people maybe miss in movies.”

Song of the South is based on the collection of Uncle Remus stories as adapted by Joel Chandler Harris and is set in the south shortly after the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery.

Although the movie was a financial success when it premiered in 1946 it has remained a subject of controversy due to critics describing the film’s portrayal of African Americans as racist and offensive.

Disney never released Song of the South on any home video format in the United States but the cartoon characters of the movie continue to be featured in books and in the extremely popular Disney attraction Splash Mountain.

Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections

Last month Disney released a sneak peek of two new Dooney & Bourke collections launching this month at Disney Parks. On July 22, a release party will be held in the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs for these two new collections.

Not only will there be the new collections, but guests can also meet Ian Ray, Creative Director for Dooney & Bourke from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on July 22.

New Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections Coming Soon

The first collection will be the second release of the ‘Dream Big, Princess’ collection. Tiana will be the second princess feature after Belle from earlier this year. The new tote has a large single image instead of a repeating image, so that each tote will look the same. A repeating pattern will still be on the top and bottom of the tote. I love the full design because it really captures the essence of Tiana.

New Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections Coming Soon

In addition to the Tote, there will also be a Crossbody and Foldover Crossbody available. These will feature the all over repeating Tiana pattern.

New Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections Coming Soon

The second collection releasing this month is inspired by The Haunted Mansion attraction. We’ve seen Haunted Mansion Dooneys before, but these purple handbags will feature Madame Leota! Other recognizable icons from the popular Disney attraction will also be mixed throughout the repeating pattern design. These purses will have contrasting black leather accents, and silver toned hardware.

New Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections Coming Soon

The new Madame Leota inspired Haunted Mansion design will also be featured on a new MagicBand! These will come in a specially designed box and have all the benefits of regular MagicBand2s.

With the exception of the MagicBand the new Tiana and Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Collections will be releasing at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World July 22nd.

Tickets for Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Special Events On-Sale This Week

Good news for fans of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival– Bookings open up this week for the exciting range of seminars, workshops and tasting events! So elevate your Food & Wine experience from the ordinary to the extraordinary by booking in some of these fantastic options to supplement you time at Epcot.

Bookings will open up for Tables in Wonderland members, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and Golden Oak Residents starting at 9:00 am EST on July 18th. Members of these groups also receive a $2 discount (per person per event) for the seminars and culinary demonstrations tacking place Monday – Thursdays during the Festival.

The General Public are able to book beginning on July 20th starting at 7:00 am EST.

Bookings can be made online or by calling 407-WDW-FEST (939-3378). Those qualifying for discounts should note that bookings can only be made over the phone. DVC bookers also have the option of using their Member Services line at 1.800.800.9800 to make their bookings.

It’s time to break out the party hats and birthday cake, Disneyland is celebrating its 62nd Birthday Day today! Disneyland has some magical plans in honor of this big day. The fun will begin today at 12:20pm (PDT) at the Main Street Train Station.

The birthday celebration will include the Disneyland Band, Dapper Dans and many Disney friends.

Also, in honor of 62 magical years, Fantasmic! will be officially returning tonight! This nighttime show is scheduled for 9:00pm, 10:30pm and 11:30pm.

New Park Maps and Times Guides are available today for Disneyland guests. The new maps are highlighting the much anticipated return of Fantasmic!, Disneyland’s nighttime show.

Fantasmic! is officially returning today as part of Disneyland’s 62nd Anniversary Celebration.
