BREAKING NEWS: Stitch's Great Escape To Become 'Alien Encounter' Character Greeting

UPDATE: Oct. 6, 2017

Disney has confirmed that starting on October 8th, the queue of Stitch’s Great Escape will be used as a meet and greet location for Stitch. This has been speculated since October 2nd when the new signage for the meet and greet location was seen in the Tomorrowland.

Limited Edition Magic Bands and Buttons for Epcot's 35th Anniversary

Epcot‘s 35th anniversary celebration is almost underway, and with such a huge occasion, you know they were going to be releasing limited edition merchandise. Magic Bands and Trading Pins made the cut were included!

The MagicBand is now available for purchase at select locations in Epcot. This retro themed band is limited edition, only 3,500 are being sold. You can pick up one of your very own for $32.99 within the park. The band is eligible for discounts at the time of purchase, however, all sales are final; with no refunds, exchanges, or returns.

Aside from it’s cool retro look, the Epcot 35th Anniversary MagicBand creates a little extra magic as you use it throughout the park. The limited edition band includes a special effects feature, that when tapped at FastPass locations around the park, guests will hear “Reflections of Earth” said, along with a unique orange light flashing before your FastPass flashes green. How cool is that?!

Epcot Celebrates 35 Years with Special Cupcakes at Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival honors the park’s special day with 35 Global Marketplaces this year as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of Epcot on Oct. 1 . Imagine how much fun the chefs had as they created these amazingly delicious looking cupcakes!

Three adorably yummy looking cupcakes have been created for the anniversary celebration, all beginning Oct. 1, 2017. This Spaceship Earth Cupcake is at Fountain View, a yellow cupcake with strawberry pastry cream filling and topped with a dome of cake covered in silver fondant. And it’s edible!

You’ll find the Flower Pot Cupcake at Sunshine Seasons, a vanilla cupcake with peanut butter and jelly filling, topped with edible flowers from The Land Pavilion.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at The Landing at Disney Springs is serving up a new dish that will make your taste buds do a little dance. The new Nacho Picchu is piled high with Key Lime Tortilla chips smothered in beans, fresh salsa, a blend of shredded cheeses and a few other Chef favorites and finished off with your choice of chicken or chorizo. You can find this new Chef Special on the Full Menu.

This family-friendly waterfront outpost is housed in a 1940s airplane hangar turned bar. The restaurant serves casual fare with a daring flair and rare cocktail concoctions Some guests’ favorites include Rolling Boulder Sliders (brisket meatballs with tomato-bacon jam), Lao Che’s Revenge (Asian sticky wings) and Brody’s Brats.

Who is Jock Lindsey? You may remember him as Indiana Jones’ barnstorming pilot and owner of a pet snake named Reggie. Love the explanation on how the Jock Lindsey Hangar Bar came to be located at Walt Disney World.

The two globetrotters stumbled on Disney Springs in 1938 while chasing down a mythology-based tip in central Florida. Attracted to the town’s natural springs and lush terrain, Jock bought some waterfront property and eventually settled down, piloting seaplane tours across the fast-growing Sunshine State.

Jock eventually built an airplane hangar, air tower and runway, and invited fellow members of The Society of Explorers and Adventurers to pay him a visit. His home base soon became a popular stopover and watering hole for world travelers and locals alike.

SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular Opening Weekend Review

SeaWorld Orlando hosted opening weekend of their 2017 Spooktacular on September 23rd and September 24th. Character Meets, a Pumpkin Patch, Event Merchandise, The Count’s Countdown to Halloween Show, and the popular Trick-or-Treat Trail make this event great fun for the entire family. Here is our Review of Spooktacular’s Opening Weekend.

Character Meets abound at SeaWorld’s Spooktacular. Children will enjoy meeting Princesses, Household Pets, Sea Life, a Mermaid, Witches and Crabby Stiltwalkers. The Characters are true to form and answer every question in character making these interactions a lot of fun. If you meet one of the Princesses be sure to say, “Tag you’re It!” as this is a game the Princesses play with one another even though they are in different locations around the Park. The Witches are brewing up a magical potion in their cauldron so be sure to ask them about their concoction.

Stop by Penelope’s Garden Party area to check out the Pumpkin Patch. Be sure to Make a Wish on a Pumpkin Fish!

SeaWorld Orlando's Spooktacular Opening Weekend Review

Event Merchandise ranges from t-shirts and hats, to Halloween trick-or-treat bags and head-bands.

The Count’s Countdown to Halloween is a really great show that you must see if you attend SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular. From fun songs like “The Monster Mash” and “Pennsylvania 1, 2, 3, 4, 5” to the amazing Spooky Skeletons Dance this show is for all ages. The Narrator will encourage you to sing and dance along with all of your favorite Sesame Street Characters. We did not have any very young children in our group and we thoroughly enjoyed this show so be sure to check it out. You will find this show at the Seaport Theater. Seating does fill up so be sure to arrive early.

What Spooktacular Event would be complete without trick-or-treating? SeaWorld Orlando does not disappoint in this respect. You can go through the lines as much as you like and the trail meanders along Festival Pathway, through Penelope’s Garden Party, along the pathway of Bayside Stadium, past Wild Arctic and ends at Shamu’s Happy Harbor. Family members with allergies can stop by any treat bag table to review the list of allergen ingredients in the treat offerings.

SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular Event runs weekends from September 23rd through October 29th. The event is included with your park ticket so not need to purchase anything additional. Plan a day to meet some interesting characters, see a fun show and collect lots of candy along the trick-or-treat trail. Spooktacular is a wonderful family event for all ages. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open because you never know what you might see next!

Good news Annual Passholders! Walt Disney World has extended the 45th Anniversary celebration dining discounts for passholders.

A year ago Disney celebrated the 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney World with the release of a 20% dining discount at 45 select Walt Disney World restaurants. Lightning McQueen Welcomed To The NASCAR Hall of Fame

Nascar Hall of Fame

World-champion racer Lightning McQueen, #95, was welcomed by NASCAR racing legends, executives, and “Cars 3” filmmakers and voice actors to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Lightning, along with numerous NASCAR-inspired characters from Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 3,” are making an almost seven-month pit stop in a hands-on, family-friendly exhibit in the Great Hall, as they gear up for the arrival of “Cars 3” digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™ on Oct. 24, and on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD™ and Blu-ray™ on Nov. 7.

“We are honored to showcase the NASCAR stories, characters and locations that inspired the world of ‘Cars,’ in this new special exhibit,” says NASCAR Hall of Fame Executive Director Winston Kelley. “And we’re excited for our friend Lightning McQueen to join us in welcoming guests from around the world, including the next generation of young fans, as they discover the rich history and heritage of NASCAR.”

Lightning McQueen Welcomed To The NASCAR Hall of Fame

Through May of 2018, visitors to the NASCAR Hall of Fame will get the chance to enjoy an action-packed animation spectacular featuring a full-size, fiberglass replica of Lightning McQueen from “Cars 3,” hands-on kids activities as well as 16 displays that feature renderings, biographies and artifacts from real-life NASCAR personalities who contributed their voices and stories to the movie. Featured legends include Ray Evernham (voice of Ray Reverham), Kyle Petty (voice of Cal Weathers), Jeff Gordon (voice of Jeff Gorvette) and Junior Johnson (voice to Junior “Midnight” Moon), as well as young drivers like Chase Elliott (voice of Chase Racelott), Ryan Blaney (voice of Ryan “Inside” Laney), Daniel Suárez (voice of Danny Swervez) and Bubba Wallace (voice of Bubba Wheelhouse).

“When developing ‘Cars 3,’ we consulted and recruited NASCAR greats, from rookie drivers and legends to the voices behind the sport,” says director Brian Fee. “They revealed what happens behind the scenes of racing and helped bring the film’s characters to life. To see them displayed at the NASCAR Hall of Fame—a shrine to the history and heritage of NASCAR—is a real thrill.”

The evening’s events included a VIP reception/Panel to celebrate the new “Cars 3” exhibit. Attendees included:

Can you believe that the song “I Want You Back” turns 48 years old on October 7th? As one of Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Songs of All Time,” the Jackson 5 hit was a teen-age Michael Jackson’s first foray into a legendary music career. To celebrate, the Mouseketeers, Disney’s first class of young entertainers in over two decades, released their rendition of the quintet’s first single with a “throwback” music video that pays homage to the instant smash that launched the King of Pop’s career.

Michael Jackson was only 11 years old when he first belted those iconic opening notes. Much like Jackson, who would go on to be the most awarded recording artist in the history of music, Disney is hoping to launch the next generation of superstars.

Following in the footsteps of the Club’s famous alumni Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, young soul singer Brianna Mazzola and country-rock artist Sean Oliu – of the newest class of Mouseketeers – lend their vocals to a retelling of the Motown classic.

This video is now available on online music stores like Spotify and Apple Music Friday.
