I’ll start out by admitting my complete bias when it comes to anything regarding the Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs. Perhaps it’s my heritage, perhaps it’s the smorgasbord of Irish fare, and perhaps it’s the distilled whiskey that goes down a little too easily to the sound of my homeland’s music and wooden shoes of the Irish dancers. Regardless, this is one of my favorite restaurants on Disney property and Raglan Road’s dessert flight is just one more reason why.

The one thing I do not like about a meal at Raglan Road is deciding what to eat. There are so many delicious items on the menu, that to choose one is nearly committing a sin. Thankfully, the chefs here have saved all of us a lot of heartache by creating this spectacular dessert flight.

Loaded up with four of the most popular desserts, this dessert flight includes:

Fluffy Lemon Clouds – a lemon curd tart topped with meringue
Dundon’s Delight – raspberry pavlova topped with vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis
Dunbrody Kiss – chocolate mousse topped more chocolate and a raspberry garnish
Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding – traditional bread pudding served with butterscotch and Créme Anglaise sauces

A taste of all these goodies comes at the price of $12 and for what you get, we don’t think that’s too bad!

Downtown Disneyland Businesses Closing to Open New 700 Room Resort

Disney announced plans to close several Downtown Disneyland businesses to make way for a new 700-room hotel. ESPN Zone, Rainforest Café, and AMC 12 Theaters, as well as many others, will be apart of the largest renovation of the major shopping-and-entertainment district. The closing comes as a shock to many park goers.

The new diamond level resort will take up approximately 17 acres and add more room for out-of-town visitors on this high end resort.

Chris Evans Will Be Retiring His Role as Captain America

Chris Evans has shared that he does not have plans to return to the Marvel film franchise after finishing up filming of the fourth Avengers movie this year. The third film, Avengers Infinity War will debut in theatres April 26th and the fourth film, which remains to be named, is expected to be released in 2019.

The role of Captain America has been played by Evans since 2011, when he first debuted in “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Evans told the New York Times, “you want to get off the train before they push you off”. Evans will now make his Broadway debut in “Lobby Hero”, where he will play the role of a police officer.

What does this mean for Marvel? Will Captain America be revived by a new actor? Will Captain America be killed off? Or will Captain America wander off into the distance never to be heard from again? It appears we will just have to wait and see.

Yacht & Beach Club 2018 Easter Egg Display Photo Tour

Easter week is upon us and we were excited to tour this year’s Easter Egg displays at the Walt Disney World Resorts over the weekend. You can currently view the displays at the Yacht & Beach Club as well as The Grand Floridian. Here is our photo tour of the Yacht & Beach Club 2018 Easter Egg Display.

The Beach Club Resort display is located front and center as you enter the main lobby area. Here you will spot beautiful eggs inspired by Baymax, Stitch, Peter Pan, Villains, Wreck It Ralph and Chip to name a few. Be sure to search for the Hidden Mickey’s too!

The Yacht Club is featuring a small table display of lovely eggs as well. You can find this display across from the Ale & Compass Restaurant just off the main lobby.

We always enjoy visiting the resorts to admire their seasonal displays. This is the 2nd year the Yacht & Beach Club have presented an Easter Egg Display. If you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the next couple of weeks, be sure to stop by and see these amazing eggs. The Yacht & Beach Club 2018 Easter Egg Display will be available until April 10th. We at Chip and Company wish you all a beautiful Easter.

“Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art”

Epcot World Showcase does a fantastic job of brining authentic cultural experiences to guests. This summer a brand new exhibition called “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art” will be coming to the American Heritage Gallery at The American Adventure.

Featured artists will include fashion designer Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo), noted doll maker Glenda McKay (Ingalik-Athabascan), and Juanita Growing Thunder (Assiniboine Sioux) from the Growing Thunder family of Montana.

Just like the other exhibits we’ve seen at American Heritage Gallery, “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art” will feature interactive elements where some of the artists will share, in their own words, inspirations behind their works and their creative process.

This new exhibit is made possible through the collaboration of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C.

The American Adventure isn’t the only country getting an updated exhibit. Updates to the art gallery in Mexico happened last fall and more exciting work is underway to refresh the gallery in Norway.

Be Our Guest Dessert Revealed For New Dinner Menu

We recently brought you the news that dinners at Be Our Guest inside the Magic Kingdom would be transitioning to a three-course prix fixe dinner menu starting July 27th. We now have more details to share on the dessert course! Guests will be served a personal dessert platter with a trio of delicious treats.

First up is a raspberry macaron with lemon filling and fresh raspberries, then indulge in a whole maraschino cherry dipped in dark chocolate with hazelnut topping. Then top off the experience with a white chocolate Chip cup filled with signature Grey Stuff!

This dessert will only be available on the new dinner menu. Disney has confirmed that dinner will go up to Two Table Service Dining Credits for those on the Disney Disney Plan and that the prices will increase to $55 per adult and $35 per child for dinner.

“Captain Marvel” Filming Has Begun in Los Angeles

“Captain Marvel” filming is underway. Principal photography began in Los Angeles for the upcoming Marvel Studios film which will also shoot on location in Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

The film is set to release on March 8, 2019. “Captain Marvel” is directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

With an all star cast including Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law, we are excited to see this previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe come to the big screen.

Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, “Captain Marvel” continues the lineage of epic big-screen adventures chronicled in other Marvel films, most recently, “Black Panther,” which is on track to the become the highest grossing superhero film at the domestic box office.

“Captain Marvel” was written by Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch, and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck. Kevin Feige is producing. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patty Whitcher and Stan Lee are executive producers, with Lars Winther serving as co-producer/first assistant director and David Grant serving as co-producer.
