Marvel To Launch New Animation Franchise Dubbed 'Marvel Rising'

We are pleased to announce that Marvel has just released details regarding a new animation franchise dubbed ‘Marvel Rising’ which will consist of an upcoming feature-length film as well as 6 4-minute Digital Shorts that will be launched shortly. The voice cast recruited for this exciting project include Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet, Tyler Poser, Kim Raver and BooBoo Stewart just to name a few.

Meet the characters and all-star voice actors behind the project in this exciting new video released by Marvel:

“Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors” will bring together Marvel’s newest and beloved characters that have garnered a massive fan following over the last few years. The characters featured include Ms Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, Patriot, America Chavez, Inferno and of course Ghost-Spider which is voiced by Dove Cameron.

When a treat no one could have expected bears down on the Marvel Universe, this untrained band of teens must rise together and prove to the world that the difference between “hero” and “misfit” is all in the name.

Now, per WDWMagic, we are excited to share the complete schedule for entertainment, meet and greets, and attractions, and more!

Inside the Sage: A Galaxy in the Making: Don’t miss this one-night-only panel discussion about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Join host David Collins—a voice actor known for his work on Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story—and an expert panel of team members from Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm, including: Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering; Robin Reardon, Executive Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering; Chris Beatty, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering; and Doug Chiang, VP/Creative Director at Lucasfilm.

The panelists will take you around the galaxy and inside the making of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the 14-acre expansion scheduled to open in 2019 at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

During this fascinating sneak peek, find out what it’s like to bring the epic saga to life—from the big screen to the real world! Jedi Training: Guests ages 4 to 12 are invited to train in the ways of the Force and put their skills to test against the Dark Side. Sign up is in the Star Tours area. Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away: Witness iconic Star Wars moments live during this special event performance. Taking place in front of the park’s iconic Chinese Theater at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, and 10:20 pm during the event, Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away gives Guests of all ages the chance to watch in wonder while Characters like Kylo Ren, Chewbacca and BB-8 recreate some of the Saga’s most famous scenes—right before your eyes! Buckle up for high-energy clips featuring standout moments from the Saga while enjoying action-packed Character appearances onstage from Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and many more.
Imperial March: Guests can catch the iconic march from Centerstage to the Main Entrance at 7:05, 8:05, 9:05, and 9:55pm during the event.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular: Feel the Force flowing at this nighttime spectacular.

During Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, you’ll see and hear and feel the music, magic and characters from the Saga as they light up the night with memorable Star Wars moments—complete with state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, pyrotechnics and more.

Plus, before you’re thrust into the middle of the action starring the Skywalker family, keep your attention glued to the main stage for a special interactive pre-show—exclusive to the event!

Guests can catch the fireworks in the Centerstage area at 11:45pm during the event.

Have plans to visit Star Wars Galactic Nights at Hollywood Studios later this month? Then you will be lucky enough to get your hands on this event-exclusive merchandise! Star Wars Galactic Nights promises celebrity appearances, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge panel discussions, Star Wars-themed entertainment, fireworks, photo ops, and merchandise that is out of this world! What better way to celebrate the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

We’ve previously shared a full rundown of this year’s Star Wars: Galactic Nights activities in this blog post – but with so much fun offered in just one evening, we want to make sure you make the most of it.

Here are some new ways event attendees can really let their inner Jedi shine at the event.

First off, guests attending the event will have the opportunity to purchase event-exclusive merchandise, including Star Wars: Galactic Nights t-shirts, tumblers and pins.

While you’re celebrating Star Wars: The Last Jedi and taking advantage of all of the Star Wars-related activities at the event, it’s never too early to start preparing for Solo: A Star Wars Story! These shirts are the first products for the film created especially for Disney Parks and will be available through May 25, 2018. On behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change, 25% of the retail sale price of this product will be donated to UNICEF USA in support of UNICEF Kid Power. The Adult Tee will be at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Galactic Nights on December 16, 2017. This item will then roll out to the various locations starting December 17th. And speaking of merchandise, to celebrate the debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, anyone attending the event who presents a proof of purchase or ticket stub from the opening weekend of the film, December 14-17, will receive a commemorative holiday ornament. One per guest, while supplies last.

Guests who really want to show their Star Wars spirit at the event can do so by getting a makeover from a galaxy far, far, away, thanks to a Senses-A Disney Spa Pop-Up Experience. They’ll be set up in the Sunset Boulevard area of the park to offer three different makeover packages that include Star Wars-inspired nails, makeup and hair transformations. Makeovers take 30-60 minutes (depending on the package) and range in price from $50-90 for children and $80-120 for adults.

If a “digital” makeover is more your style, be sure to download Snapchat – or simply open your app – throughout the night at the different photo stops located throughout the event. A total of eight different location-based Snapchat filters have been created specifically for this event.

We are also hearing that all event attendees should also be on the lookout for a special takeaway upon exit at the end of the evening. Can’t wait to see what that will be!

The Edison Grand Opening Will Be A Dazzling Gala on New Year’s Eve

It looks like our initial report of The Edison opening date was pretty darn close! The Edison at Disney Springs will host a dazzling gala Grand Opening on New Year’s Eve, showcasing its lavish Industrial Gothic-style, crave-worthy food, and exceptional cocktails plus a truly spectacular lineup of world-class entertainment all within Central Florida’s newest entertainment hot-spot.

The Edison’s doors will open at 7:30 p.m., allowing guests ample time to eat, drink and be merry, right up through a special midnight toast to ring in 2018. A fully immersive dining experience, The Edison features multiple themed areas to explore, such as the Lab performance space, The Ember Parlour, Telegraph Lounge, The Patent Office, The Tesla Lounge, The Radio Room, and the Waterfront Patio.

Tickets for The Edison’s New Year’s Eve Grand Opening are $150 and available to the first 350 lucky guests to purchase. Club Mickey Mouse — the digital revival of Disney’s classic Mickey Mouse Club program — today caps off its successful first season by releasing a Christmas special on Facebook. The Christmas special features a new original song by the Mouseketeers: “When December Comes.” Walt Disney Records also release the tune one day following, on Friday, Dec. 8. Also starting today, @ClubMickeyMouse will release videos and holiday content counting down to their Christmas Day performance on the “Disney Parks Magical Holiday Celebration” airing on ABC on Tuesday, Dec. 25.

“When December Comes” is Club Mickey Mouse’s new, original single, a candy cane-sweet pop song pulling inspiration from holiday classics with jazz untones of the era and remixed with flavors of today’s generation. Resident rockabilly crooner Sean Oliu kickstarts the medley on the electric guitar, while lyricist Regan Aliyah intercuts the upbeat second verse with a rap breakdown.

The song is written and performed by the eight Mouseketeers, who follow in the legendary footsteps of Club alumni Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears — and whom have become viral sensations in their own right (150 million views).

Club Mickey Mouse is an always-on, digital-first variety program from Oh My Disney that reboots the 90’s pop culture sensation, Mickey Mouse Club, for the digital age. As one of the first digital content programs created entirely for the social feeds and specifically for Facebook and Instagram, the program took fans behind the scenes into the creative process in making seven original songs and music videos.

Between backstage rehearsals and first-person social vlogs, the Mouseketeers made their worldwide debut with a reimagined version of the 1955 theme song, “Mickey Mouse Club March,” with help from mentor and influencer Todrick Hall. When it takes to the stage, the extravagant adaptation of the hugely successful 2013 animated film will remain true to the story fans know but will enrich it with new ideas and “more gravitas,” according to director Michael Grandage.

There is still the fairytale aspect that fans will expect, but it will be peppered with darker motifs found in Norse mythology. For example, the friendly and funny rock trolls have been transformed into shadowy “Hidden Folk,” inspired by a Scandinavian forest spirit know as the huldra.

The bond between Elsa and Anna, played by Caissie Levy and Patti Murin, respectively, remains the heart of the show. And fans won’t be disappointed with the show-stopping “Let It Go,” which Grandage says “Appeals to the underdog and to the outsider. People who need a voice have adopted it as their anthem.”
