Star Wars: Jedi Challenges Lightsaber Battles

For the first time in Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, Star Wars fans can have lightsaber battles against each other in local multiplayer mode, the newest feature expansion for the smartphone-powered augmented reality experience from Lenovo and Disney. The feature update, titled Lightsaber Versus Mode, is the second free update since the product launched in November 2017. Lightsaber Versus Mode is available now in the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges app, which is free to download on the App Store® and Google Play™.

A first-of-its-kind, Star Wars: Jedi Challenges has allowed fans to train like a Jedi, battling against legendary dark side villains like Kylo Ren and Darth Vader in AR since its launch in late 2017. Driven by overwhelming fan demand, the new multiplayer mode allows two players – each equipped with the smartphone-powered Lenovo Mirage™ AR headset, Lightsaber Controller, Tracking Beacon and a compatible smartphone1 – to face off in AR lightsaber battles, while in the same room. This is the first time two players can play simultaneously while being able to see the other player’s lightsaber in AR.

In Lightsaber Versus Mode, players are guided by visual cues indicating when and where to block, dodge, and strike. As players face off, the battle increases in difficulty until one player claims victory. Each player must download the latest version of the Star Wars: Jedi Challenges app2 on compatible smartphones,1 with access to the same Wi-Fi connection.

Redd is known for traveling throughout the Caribbean selling rum and looking for treasure but is making a swing by Disneyland Park just for the Summer. Ahead of her arrival in Disneyland, Disney Parks Blog writer Jennifer Fickley-Becker caught up with her for a Q&A session. See what Redd has to say below:

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, if I needed friends, they’d call me Redd. Pirates call me ‘Rrr’ for short. I been ‘round the world, but the sea is always home.

Do you know Captain Jack Sparrow?
That Sparrow owes me a new ship. Wouldn’t be surprised if he found himself in irons once more. If you see Mister Sparrow, I’m lookin’ for ‘em!

Some pirates think it’s bad luck to have a woman aboard a pirate ship. What do you think?

Coin o’course! I accept it all—Spanish doubloons, English farthings, French livre, Dutch lion dollars and Portuguese moidore.

Star Wars Rival Run Weekend Announced for 2019

In celebration of Star Wars Day, Disney announced details for the 2019 Star Wars marathon: Star Wars Rival Run. More than 43,500 runners took part in the 2018 Star Wars Half Marathon-The Dark Side held this past April at Walt Disney World. The 2019 race will celebrate epic Star Wars rivalries where runners will have to choose the light or dark side of the force.

The marathon dates are scheduled for April 4-7, 2019 with distances geared for all running levels. There will be a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and the runDisney Kids Races as well. There will also be two challenges for runners to battle, the Star Wars Rival Run Challenge-a 10K and the half, and the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge-completing the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon and running the Star Wars Virtual Marathon at home.

Whether you choose the light or the dark side, you won’t want to miss a chance to participate the runDisney Star Wars Rival Run. Characters from the Star Wars films will line the adventure through the course to finish your journey earning one-of-a-kind medals.

Select Disneyland Paris Restaurants Now Available for Online Booking

I am happy to report that select Disneyland Paris Restaurants are now available for online booking! But, there is a catch. You must be logged on the website under the Dutch or Belgium version.

It is assumed that the online reservation system is just in a beta or testing phase at this time since it is only available for one region with the intention to roll it out to other regions and countries in the future. Currently, the only way to make dining reservations is to call Disneyland Paris directly. However, here in the United States, this can be a hurdle since their operating hours are different than our normal business hours.

As a Travel Agent, I currently have a few clients traveling to Disneyland Paris. I was very happy to be able to look into the new system and make reservations by going to the Disneyland Paris website and changing to the Belgique/Belgie version. Then, I selected the French option. Since I was using the Google Chrome browser, I was asked if I would like the page to be translated, which I accepted. From there, I was able to go to the “All Restaurants” option under “Things to Do” just like I would do on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

The reservation system includes most table service dining locations in Disneyland Park, the Disneyland Paris Resorts, Disney Village, and Walt Disney Studios Park. Reservations typically open up for Disneyland Paris Restaurants two months in advance.

Two New Events Announced for SeaWorld Orlando This Month

Looking for something a little different to do this month in Orlando? Then make sure to check out these two new events coming to SeaWorld Orlando this month! The first event, “Just For Kids” Weekend invites visitors to experience SeaWorld through the eyes of a child with kid-centric headline entertainment, dance parties and interactive shows designed for SeaWorld’s youngest guests. SeaWorld Orlando is also introducing a brand-new event, “Inside Look,” which welcomes guests to learn more about the animals at SeaWorld and meet the team who cares for them.

Inside Look: May 5 & 6 / May 12 & 13 / May 19 & 20
This one-of-a-kind event will allow park guests to learn more about the inspiring day-to-day care SeaWorld’s animal experts provide, as well as the life-saving operations of the SeaWorld Rescue Team. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions with SeaWorld veterinarians, rescuers, and animal experts, all while encountering extraordinary animals.

Guests can visit 11 “Inside Look” locations throughout the park where SeaWorld’s Animal Care Experts and Behaviorists highlight the park’s mission to provide extraordinary care and help animals in need. Upon entering the park, guests can pick up a helpful Explorer’s Guide at the SeaWorld Rescue store to guide their day. Guests who collect six stamps in their Explorer’s Guide will earn a SeaWorld Expert Explorer’s pin, while supplies last, at the SeaWorld Rescue store.

As an in-park exclusive, the park is also offering 20% off purchases at the SeaWorld Rescue store and a buy one, get one free offer on animal tours and interactions at the park on event days.

Event activities take place during normal park operating hours Saturday and Sunday from May 5 through May 20, 2018 and are included with park admission.

Just For Kids Weekends: May 5 & 6 / May 12 & 13
Starting Saturday, SeaWorld Orlando kicks off an all-new event that allows park guests to experience SeaWorld through the eyes of a child. “Just For Kids” Weekends invites visitors to dance, play, learn and share a day of kid-centric fun. Each event day sparkles with interactive surprises, kids dance parties, and entertainment designed for SeaWorld’s youngest guests.

SeaWorld’s Nautilus Theater is your “Just For Kids” concert destination for engaging, interactive shows starring popular children’s performers. Shows take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and are included with park admission.

A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you’re fast asleep. Our hearts wished for a Cinderella Dooney and Bourke Collection, and the wish came true! The next line in the Disney Princess Dooney collection is here, and now available at Disney springs!

Brand New Cinderella Dooney and Bourke Collection!

Just like the Tiana and Snow White Bags, there is a tote with a full coverage design, and an all over pattern for the rest of the collection. In addition to the tote bag, there is a satchel, and zip around wallet clutch. The satchel and zip around print showcases Jaq and Gus framed by light blue vines, on a sapphire background. Silhouettes of Cinderella’s Carriage, and Glass Slipper are also woven into the repeating pattern.
