Work is continuing on the new 15-story tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort that will bring an additional 500 rooms with suites and concierge-level services. This new tower which overlooks Lago Dorado, the resort’s centerpiece lake, will offer a rooftop dining experience with panoramic views of popular nighttime fireworks from nearby Disney theme parks.

The new tower is scheduled to be completed by Summer of 2019. We can see from aerial photos (thanks to @bioreconstruct) that construction has reached the 14th floor. One more to go!
Disney has stated that the transformation will stay true to the resort theme, reflecting the vibrant spirit of adventure that lived within the Spanish explorers of North America. The addition of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort tower will bring the number Walt Disney World Resort rooms to nearly 30,000 within its 27 resort hotels.

Work has also begun on the new dining location located in the middle of Lake Lago. In order for guests to access the new location, three walkways will be constructed over the water to connect it with the rest of the property. In just 12 days, Avengers: Infinity War surpassed $1 billion in worldwide box office numbers. With it’s release at the end of April, this milestone seems to have come awfully fast, right? And that’s because it did. The latest Marvel film has become the fastest movie ever to hit this number.
Infinity War opened on April 25 in overseas territories before hitting the U.K. on April 26, opening in the U.S. on April 27, and finally opening in Russia on May 3. With Friday’s global box-office total of $69.5 million, the film has, release to that point, earned a total of $974.5 million worldwide. Surpassing $1 billion was set to happen by Saturday evening – before the film even hit the China market.
Perhaps all this hype has something to do with the fact that Avengers: Infinity War is said to be the culmination of a story we’ve seen play out over 18 other films. . Thanos (Josh Brolin), who we first saw in the post-credits scene from The Avengers, finally emerged from the shadows and wants to wipe out half of existence by collecting six Infinity Stones.
And the cast is star studded, assembling nearly all of the Marvel heroes to date for what is sure to be an epic battle. Those signed on for this fight include Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).
Becoming the 34th film to break $1 billion, “Avengers: Infinity War joins other titles like Avatar, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Titanic, Jurassic World, and Captain America: Civil War.
As of Friday, Disney, which includes Marvel Studios, exceeded $3 billion in ticket sales for 2018 to date. That makes Disney the fastest studio to hit that number in a given year – breaking their own record set in 2016 when they reached $3 billion by May 6th.
Disney released Black Panther, which grossed approximately $1.3 billion globally and is the highest-grossing Marvel Studios film to date and A Wrinkle in Time earlier in the year.

Roadster Goofy from Mickey and the Roadster Racers will soon join the character crew at Hollywood and Vine‘s Disney Junior Play ‘n’ Dine. This popular character dining location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios currently features Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Handy Manny, and Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. On May 13th, Handy Manny will head back to Handy Manny’s Repair Shop and Roadster Goofy will take his place.
Mickey and the Roadster Racers debuted on the Disney Channel in January 2017. It features the Sensational Six (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Pluto). The characters spend time racing around Hot Dog Hills and the world. Goofy races the the Turbo Tubster. He also owns the Hot Diggity Hot Dog Trailer.
Hollywood and Vine features the Disney Junior Play ‘n’ Dine character meals daily as well as Minnie’s Seasonal Dining parties throughout the year. Be sure to stop by before May 13th to catch Handy Manny before he leaves and come back afterwards to see Roadster Goofy! Reservations are highly recommended.

The Wilderness Explorers location at Dinoland, USA in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is relocating. The current location is in between Dino-Bite Snacks and The Boneyard. The new home for this stop on the Wilderness Explorers challenge will be near the queue for DINOSAUR. The former site is going to be the new home of Donald’s Dino-Bash! coming to Animal Kingdom May 25, 2018.
Inspired by Russell from the Pixar movie Up!, the Wilderness Explorers challenge gives guests of all ages a chance to complete missions through dozens of self-guided activities. The missions take place in different locations throughout the Animal Kingdom park. Guests receive a Wilderness Explorer field guide to collect their badges in once they complete a challenge. Badges include the Veterinary Badge (earned while helping diagnose a sea turtle), the Dinosaur Badge (includes dinosaur fossils) and the Animal Find Badge (where guests can check off animals as they see them).
The Wilderness Explorers headquarters is located on the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island. Field guides can be picked up at this location or any others throughout the park.

Cath Kidston has teamed up once more with Disney to create a whimsical new collection. The newest collection takes us through the looking glass! That’s right, coming this May is a beautiful new Cath Kidston Alice in Wonderland Collection!
The Alice in Wonderland x Cath Kidston Collection launches with a private early release at their website on Thursday May 24th! May 24th, the collection will also debut in select UK Stores. The collection will then be available online and in all UK stores on May 25th. No word on when we’ll see it in the states, but so far all of the Cath Kidston collections have come to shopDisney some time after release.
The Alice in Wonderland x Cath Kidston Collection has taken illustrations from Disney archives, and woven them with Cath Kidston’s iconic print designs.
Beautiful elements from the iconic film are highlighted on a gorgeous array of apparel.
