Today I’m bringing sad news to our chocolate lover fans out there. One of the wonderful things about stepping into the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop at Disney Springs is being handed a delicious Ghiradelli square as you walk through the doors. When we visited yesterday for “research” we were surprised when we received a “mini” sized square and not the standard square that had previously been given out.

When we asked the cast member about this change she could not confirm if this only during the holidays but she lead us to believe that it most likely was a permanent change.

As we walked through Disney Springs yesterday we noticed that AristoCrepes has a new (and very cute) red Christmas Mickey Ornament mug for purchase during the holiday season. There is a handle and the top lifts up for the beverage of your choice. The great thing about this offer is that you have the option of just purchasing the mug without a drink too!

The price is $8 on its own or you can add the cost of beverage for $11.99. But I have saved the best part for last!

The Coach Store is Now Open at Disney Springs

Shopping just got a bit more fun at Disney Springs!

Disney Springs has announced via their Twitter account that the Coach store is now open!

Coach sells high-quality leather handbags, apparel and fun and modern accessories.

The store is open Monday-Thursday from 10am-11pm; Friday-Saturday from 10am-11:30pm; and Sunday from 10am-11pm

 

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Offer “Aloha After Dark”

According to a recent piece on Orlando Theme Park News, December guests at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are in for a special treat as the Resort plays host to an “Aloha After Dark” event each Wednesday night at the Great Ceremonial House Lawn (in the same location as The Torch Lighting Ceremony)  from 7-8pm.  The event will be open to guests of all ages and will be jam-packed with island-themed interactive activities.

New Show Featuring Russel

Disney has a new announcement for today’s “12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas” event. We now know an all-new show featuring Russell and Dug from Pixar’s “UP” is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this Spring 2018.

The new show coincides with the park’s 20th anniversary next year and will give guests the chance to see Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug as they discover species of birds from around the world in their newest adventure at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur village. This will give new meaning to “UP” close encounters of the feathered kind!

This means that we will be saying goodbye to Flights of Wonder who currently has their shows at the Caravan Theater. The final show for Flights of Wonder will be on December 31, 2017.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts returns January 12, and will be full of vibrant sights, tastes, and sounds. This year’s Epcot International Festival of the Arts merchandise showcases the colorful festival with painted silhouettes of Disney characters, and bold splashes of color.

The assortment or merchandise is filled with brightly colored souvenirs that celebrate 39 days of creativity at Epcot. You’ll find wine glasses, mugs, caps, apparel and more featuring the colorful silhouettes of Mickey, Mouse, Goofy, and Rafiki.

Of course the iconic purple dragon we all know and love, Figment will be joining the specialty merchandise as well. It’s not an Epcot festival collection with out the pop-culture favorite. You’ll find him on Annaul Passholder festival products like the Tervis tumbler with lid and handle.

You’ll also see him represented in the beautiful trading pin line made just for the festival. Figment will be featured on the pins, which are each inspired by an iconic work of art, including Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and Monet’s “Water Lilies.”

You’ll find Epcot International Festival of the Arts Merchandise at Epcot during the festival which runs January 12th till February 19th 2018.

With only two weeks until Christmas, visitors to Walt Disney World may be done with your Christmas shopping but it shouldn’t stop you from enjoying all that Disney Springs, Disney World’s downtown shopping district has to over.   We were at Disney Springs this past weekend and managed to pick up one of the December Guide Maps which we thought we’d share for those wanting to enjoy some of the fun Disney festivities.

  • December 13 – National Cocoa Day. We can’t think of a better place to indulge than Ghirardelli
  • December 14 – National Cupcake Day. Head on over to Sprinkles for a wide range of sweet treats. Be sure to check out their Cupcake ATM!
  • December 15 – Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens and will be available for screening throughout the season at AMC Disney Springs
  • December 16 – The Void Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire a virtual reality experience opens.
  • December 17 – Rebecca Hook Jewelry Trunk Shop at World of Disney
  • December 21 – National Hamburger Day- The perfect day for a pit-stop to D-Luxe Burger
  • December 26 – National Candy Cane Day – Celebrate with special offerings at The Ganachery
  • December 31 – Disney says good-bye to Cirque du Soleil La Nouba

Speaking of Christmas Tree Trail, there’s still plenty of time to check out the 25 Disney-themed trees at this seasonal exhibition.  Have your cameras at the ready because not only are the trees gorgeous but Disney also magically makes it snow!
