Discovery Cove’s Paradise Nights is now open select evenings. Offering a buffet-style meal, Live Music, Animal Ambassador Meets and a Dolphin Show as you sit beachside, Paradise Nights is an amazing experience. Here is our review from our preview night.
As you enter the beachside area of Discovery Cove you will search for your assigned table. You will be walking through sand so we strongly recommend flip-flops, sandals or comfortable shoes. The tables all have lovely lanterns with electric candles offerering an evening glow and adding to the ambience of the evening. If you would like, you can relax in a hammock and listen to the sounds of the dolphins at play in the water.
Live Island Music is playing throughout the evening. These gentlemen were great fun to interact with. They will love it if you actually get up and Dance so give it a try.
Discovery Cove’s Paradise Nights Buffet has many options. Pan-seared Salmon, Trio Cheese Tortellini, Steamed Buttered Red Potatoes, Green Rice, Hawaiian Chicken Breast, Southern Chili Lime Chop Salad, Tri-Color Tortilla Chips with Pico de Gallo, Traditional Ceasar Salad, Couscous Salad, and Marinated Vegetables are some of the dishes on offer. You may even be fortunate enugh to meet Executive Chef Hector Colon as he carves the Herb Roast of Beef just for you! Our personal favorites were the Pan-seared Salmon and the Green Rice.
Visiting with Little Ones, or not-so-little-ones, who are picky eaters? Then the Children’s Buffet options might be the way to go. Chicken Tenders, Macaroni & Cheese, Hot Dogs, French Fries, Applesauce, Milk and Juice are available. We tasted the Chicken Tenders, Hot Dog and Macaroni & Cheese. The Hot Dogs and Chicken Tenders are good. The only item we did not care for was the Macaroni & Cheese.
There is Soft Drinks, Water, Beer, Wine and Specialty Drinks on offer as well. We enjoyed the Vodka Fruit Punch.
We had the pleasure of meeting two Animal Ambassador’s. Owlie the Screech Owl and Louie the Sloth are both adorable and you can have your picture taken with them as well. Animal Ambassadors on hand will vary.
Some of the Dolphin Trainers are on hand to speak with you and answer any questions you may have about the Dolphins. Capricorn is their largest Dolphin coming in at about 10 1/2 feet long.
After Dinner you we had the pleasure of seeing a lovely Dolphin Presentation. The Speaker and Trainers share and demonstrate some of their training techniques. Seeing the Dolphins jump out of the water in synchronized fashion is spectacular.
The evening closes out with a fabulous dessert buffet. You will likely find it impossible to choose just one! Our favorites were the Coconut Cake and the Key Lime Pie.
Discovery Cove’s Paradise Nights is available select nights at Discovery Cove. Adults are $65 and Children (3-9 years) are $19.
