Hi there Chip and Company friends! It’s time for another check-in with @bioreconstruct, but this time we are taking a look at the construction progress of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see it completed in 2019! Let’s take a look….

This is a great shot taken from above the Hollywood Studios Parking area. You can really get a feel for its massive dimensions from this angle.

Overview of the whole land!

Rock work is being installed by the entrance tunnel from Grand Avenue. This is the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge side of the new entrance tunnel into the new land. It will transition guests from Grand Avenue into the Star Wars-inspired lands.

The “Battle Escape” attraction building contains 2 very large AT-AT walkers. This new attraction puts guests on a Star Destroyer and will make them feel like they’re inside a hangar bay in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Guests will be in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon, piloting the ship, shooting blasters or preparing for hyperspace – all while completing a critical mission.

Your Toy Story pals can’t wait to have you join them in Toy Story Land where kids and grown-ups alike can experience all-new adventures. In the so-much-larger-than-life setting of Andy’s backyard, your family is invited to shrink down and become a toy alongside Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the Toy Story gang. Take part in the adventure together—among giant building blocks and board games that Andy’s rigged up to become a playground straight out of his vivid imagination.

Woody’s Lunch Box

Toys love snack time, too. The gang has taken a Woody’s Roundup lunch box and turned it into a Quick-Service window, dishing out all sorts of tasty treats for “honorary toys.” Woody’s Lunch Box will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving up classic American fare, old-fashioned soda floats and other Toy Story-themed specialities.

Disney Dining Plan Quick-Service credits will be accepted here. Although we don’t know the official menu yet, Disney has announced that they are partnering with Mini Babybel to bring this location to life.

You can see Woody’s Lunch Box located in the middle left of the concept artwork above. It will be across the path from the Alien Swirling Saucer attraction and next door to Toy Story Midway Mania.

New Experience to Open In May in Hong Kong Disneyland

I reported the other night some of the exciting announcements from the D23 Expo Japan about Hong Kong Disneyland. Some more exciting news has been released!

Guests at Hong Kong Disneyland will soon be able to experience a brand new stage show in Adventureland, “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” featuring the newest heroine from Walt Disney Animation Studios. This will be debuting in May.

Construction has also begun on the transformation of the castle, which will feature a new daytime show and nighttime spectacular. The expansion will also add an all-new, immersive “Frozen”-themed area where guests will experience new attractions and entertainment, including meeting the royal sisters Elsa and Anna.

On February 12, Disney hosted Black Panther “Welcome to Wakanda” – a celebration of fashion inspired by the movie that included a daytime press preview and an exclusive evening event in celebration of the campaign.

During the day, more than 40 fashion media and influencers met and interviewed the designers who have made bespoke looks and capsule collections inspired by the film. Later in the evening, the one-of-a-kind looks by CHROMAT, Cushnie et Ochs, Fear of God, Ikiré Jones, Laquan Smith, Sophie Theallet, and Tome were on display in an immersive, Wakanda-inspired venue that hosted an exclusive New York Fashion Week party attended by film talent and other celebrities from across the Company; Disney and Marvel executives; and fashion, entertainment and mainstream media and influencers. Following the event, the one-of-a-kind looks were auctioned off via CharityBuzz.com in support of the humanitarian organization, Save the Children.

Atlanta Braves Kick Off 2018 Spring Training at Disney World This Week

It’s that time of the year again! As the temperatures slowly begin to rise, your favorite MLB players are getting ready for the 2018 baseball season. For the Atlanta Braves, the hard work of molding and building a potential playoff caliber team begins on Tuesday when pitchers and catchers report to Champion Stadium for the 21st edition of spring training at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World.

The Braves, 72-90 in 2017 and third in the National League East division behind Washington and Miami, enter this season with baseball’s deepest farm system.  Many of their top minor league stars will be on display at spring training, including left fielder Ronald Acuna, arguably the number one prospect in all of baseball.

Braves fans have a lot to be optimistic about in 2018 when you consider the positive attributes of their roster, which include one of baseball’s premier power hitters in first baseman Freddie Freeman (.307, 28 home runs and 71 RBIs last season) despite playing in only 117 games because of a fractured wrist; a veteran catching tandem (Tyler Flowers and Kurt Suzuki) that was among the game’s best in 2017; and a Gold Glove National League All-Star centerfielder in Ender Inciarte. On the mound, multiple pitching prospects could provide a much-needed boost to Atlanta’s starting pitching rotation. Veteran Sean Newcomb, power thrower Luiz Gohara, and lefty Max Fried will add depth to a bullpen featuring veteran All-Star pitcher Julio Teheran and Brandon McCarthy, who joined the club in December via trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As for Acuna, he will compete for a spot on the club’s opening day roster.  Longtime MLB observers have already named Acuna, Gohara and Fried among the very early top candidates for National League Rookie of the Year honors, so watching them and the other young Braves develop on the big stage should be exciting this spring and throughout the season for Braves fans.

Braves fans will definitely be keeping close tabs on the working infield duo of second baseman Ozzie Albies (six home runs in 57 games last season) and home-grown shortstop Dansby Swanson (Kennesaw, Georgia), who is looking to regain the red-hot form of his rookie season in 2016 when he hit .302.

Atlanta will play 33 games before the start of the regular season with 18 taking place at Champion Stadium.  Atlanta begins its home spring training schedule on Feb. 26 when it hosts the Washington Nationals at 1:05 p.m.  The Braves will play their final home game at the Sports Complex on March 24 against the vaunted New York Yankees.

The 2017 World Series champion Houston Astros will also visit Champion Stadium later this spring.  The Astros, who won their first World Series title in the team’s 56-year history last October and celebrated it afterward with a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park, take on the Braves in an afternoon contest on March 8.

Pitchers/catchers first workout: Wednesday, February 14

Full squad first workout: Monday, February 19

First Home Game: Tuesday, February 26 vs. Washington Nationals
