Chip was at Disney California Adventure for the Food & Wine Festival and was delighted to see that The Cove Bar, a Paradise Pier staple, has re-opened its doors until just after Pixar Fest when it will close and be re-imagined as the Lamplight Lounge. The new concept is slated to debut with the opening of Pixar Pier on June 23rd.

In the meantime, this California Adventure watering hole will continue to serve up much-loved dishes like the Lobster Nachos and as well as delightful and colorful libations. The Cove Bar even offers a “Hidden Menu” which is where you’ll find one of our all-time favorite Disney cocktails the Fun Wheel.

Trust us when we say that this cocktail tastes as good as it looks. Its comprised of pineapple juice, X-Rated Passionfruit Vodka, blue curacao and all the fixins of a good Long Island Ice Tea (vodka, rum, triple sec, gin and a bit of soda water). Its the perfect drink for sipping as you watch the world pass by from the terrace!

Our First Look at Apartments Coming to Disney World’s Flamingo Crossings

Have you ever wanted to live at Disney World? Here is your chance! Around 1,300 apartment units are planned to be built at Disney World’s newest development project, Flamingo Crossings.

Per Orlando Business Journal and permits filed with Orange County, the apartment complex will be called “Flamingo Crossings West” and located on 93.3 acres just south of Flagler Avenue. Each apartment building will be four stories tall and painted various colors. A community center and fitness center will also be part of the complex.

Once completed, the entire Flamingo Crossing complex is to include up to 150,000 square feet of commercial space. It will be located on State Road 429 near Western Way. A completion date has not been announced at this time but the project will be brought to life in multiple phases.

LILLEbaby unveiled their new carrier collection featuring Mickey Mouse today. The collection will include prints featuring popular characters, with the first two prints showcasing the beloved Mickey Mouse. Prints include Mickey Traditional, a gray pattern with black and gray mesh, and Mickey Embossed, a luxe red pattern with black and gold accents. Additional prints will be released this spring and summer with characters from other Disney franchises.

Design-a-Tee at Disney Springs Will Be Saying Farewell

Many changes have been happening around Disney Springs Marketplace. Today the closing of Disney’s Design-a-Tee located in Disney Springs Marketplace was announced. Design-a-Tee opened in late 2008, but later this month will be closing its doors for good.

Hanes had been a sponsor of the store since 2007, but that agreement has recently come to an end, resulting in the closure of the store. It is still unknown what may replace Design-a-Tee at this time.

The shop allowed guests to design their own custom t-shirts on Hanes brand t-shirts. Using a computer kiosk you were able to choose from over 400 stock images and then apply their own text to make it one-of-a-kind. Design-a-Tee was a favorite spot for families to make their custom family park shirts.

The store is located next to Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories and across from Wolfgang Pucks Express.

Design-a-Tee at Disney Springs Will Be Saying Farewell

Guests are still able to create their custom design t-shirts through the end of the month when the store is slated to close.

New Super Hero Themed Land Coming to Disneyland and Other Disney Parks

Exciting news coming from Disney this afternoon! In the next few years, Guests at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland will be able to immerse themselves in a different universes filled with epic heroes and adventures!

The new Super Hero-themed land will make its debut at Disneyland in 2020 with new attractions and experiences to follow later on. In this new land at Disney California Adventure, Spider-Man and the Avengers will team up with the already-in-place Guardians of the Galaxy to create an a brand new immersive Super Hero universe. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will be the anchor of this new land. The land will expand into what is currently “a bug’s land.” Yesterday, March 19, “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” closed its doors for good and the rest of “a bug’s land” will close later in the summer when the transformation to this new heroic experience begins.

We previously reported on all the changes that were coming to Disneyland Paris. Part of the changes will be the new Marvel-themed area coming to Walt Disney Studios Park. The new area opening in 2020 will feature an attraction where riders team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure.

In the meantime, Guests are invited to join an epic adventure beginning this Summer when Disneyland Paris hosts Marvel Summer of Super Heroes. This special event beginning on June 10, 2018 and lasting until September 30, 2018 invites Guests to see their favorite Super Heroes on stage for a brand new, live-action super-production featuring cutting-edge special effects and spectacular projections!

Over at Hong Kong Disneyland, expansion is already underway. Including in the expansion is a new Super Hero-themed area that will feature a new attraction that allows Guests to team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp. The Iron Man Experience which debuted last year and quickly became the the most popular attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, will also be in this new themed-area.
