Unlock Your Room With The My Disney Experience App From Your Phone

The My Disney Experience App offers a one-stop location on your mobile device to check park wait times, see maps, book FastPass+, book dining, find characters and so much more. A new feature now allows guests to open their resort room door and common area resort doors directly with the app. Guests staying at Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Wilderness Lodge, and Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge already have this feature available for their stay.

Using the app on your mobile device you need only to open the resort room reservation and select “unlock door,” then place your phone against the door lock. You may still continue to use your Magic Bands to open the door as well in addition to all of the other many features they offer. There is no word currently to say if this will eventually expand to other resorts.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY New TV Spot

The journey to a galaxy far, far away is underway as the new “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” TV spot was released. Follow along as Han and Chewbacca meet Lando Calrissian, the notorious gambler, in the journey into the criminal underground. The movie comes to theaters on May 25th and is a highly anticipated new look into the life of Han Solo.

“The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. Ron Howard directs “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” and Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are the producers. Lawrence Kasdan, Jason McGatlin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. Jonathan Kasdan & Lawrence Kasdan wrote the screenplay.”-Walt Disney Studios

Due to its overwhelming popularity, the SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival has been extended for an additional two weekends. New flavors at the Culinary Markets around the park are sure to tempt your palate as you enjoy a variety of eats, craft brews and wines. Bayside Stadium will feature four additional artists that are sure to have you dancing and singing during these live concerts.

Bayside Stadium begins to fill up just prior to the start of the Concerts. Be sure to arrive early if you have a specific preference for show seating location.

Toy Story Themed Parties Will Celebrate the 2018 Disney Grant Recipients

This week Disney is going to infinity and beyond with plans to surprise five nonprofit organizations with $500,000. This is part of their plan to invest more than $34 million in the Central Florida community in 2018.

And because we can’t get enough Toy Story as we gear up for the Hollywood Studios opening of Toy Story Land, a traveling Toy Story-themed tailgate party will make its way around the community, stopping at the five organizations being recognized for their efforts in the community. The “party-on-wheels” made its first stop yesterday at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The organization applied for a 2018 Disney Grant to help expand its current School Market and Teen Nutrition program.

“This unique program reaches a very vulnerable population,” said Dave Krepcho, President and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. “Teenagers often hesitate to ask for help, and this program brings nutritious, complimentary and easy-to-access food straight into their schools, encouraging them to eat healthily and get the assistance they need in an environment where they’re already comfortable.”

This Disney Grant will fund an extension of the program into both Osceola and Celebration High Schools. This will have them joining six other local participating schools and further advancing Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s mission of alleviating local hunger. In addition, the grant will fund the launch of the Teen Nutrition Team. This is a one-year internship opportunity for students at participating schools, where they will engage in peer-to-peer nutrition education.

The celebration included more than 50 staff members who enjoyed Toy Story-themed food, drinks, games and entertainment. There was also a special visit from one of the most dynamic duos in town: Buzz Lightyear and Woody!

For more than 25 years the Walt Disney World Resort and its Cast Members have supported Second Harvest Food Bank. They have shared in their mission of fighting hunger and feeding hope into the local community. The 2018 Disney Grants are part of more than $34 million in giving that Disney plans to invest in the Central Florida community this year. The impact of Disney’s support in these efforts will continue to positively impacting the lives of Central Florida children and families through their promise of significant, long-lasting and solutions-driven change.

The Toy Story-themed celebrations will continue through the week as more organizations are awarded 2018 Disney Grants.

New Jack Jacks Cookie Num Nums Kiosk Coming to Pixar Pier

We all know food is a major part of any Disney vacation. Well, at least for me it is! With the new Pixar Pier opening this year, that means new snack kiosks too!

The new concept art suggests Jack Jacks Cookie Num Nums will be the new kiosk for the Pier. Whether or not that’s the only one remains to be seen.

It makes sense that this snack kiosk would go near the new IncrediCoaster sense it’s themed towards the Incredibles.

Word on the street… Main Street that is… is that we may be seeing Pixar balloons popping up at Pixar Fest sometime soon!

While on his most recent venture through the streets of the Disneyland Resort, our very own Chip received some insider information from a Cast Member. The yellow, blue and red ball with a star which we have all come to know as the “Pixar Ball” may soon be found floating around Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park.

Will We See Pixar Balloons Coming To Pixar Fest?

Of course, you can still find the iconic Mickey head balloons within the parks, but soon we may see Pixar Balloons on the rise. What a clever way for the balloons to join in all the fun and festivities of Pixar Fest.

We’ll keep our eyes and (Mickey) ears open and let you know when and if they become available.

Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience

During our Pixar Fest adventure this weekend we took some time out to try out the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience which made its debut last summer and has been on our bucket list ever since. For those of you who haven’t hear about it, it was created as a sort of fireworks dessert party held high above Tomorrowland to create some breathtaking views.
