LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is getting in on the Star Wars fun this May 4th, the day that Star Wars fans celebrate the entire franchise. It’s on this day the giant LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens MINILAND Model Display, created by a team of Master Model Builders, will take its final landing place in the center of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s outdoor LEGO display area of the theme park. It features memorable moments from Episode VII of the popular Star Wars™ saga enhanced with lights, sound effects, and animation, including the 16-foot-long Star Destroyer Finalizer made of more than 350,000 LEGO bricks!

Just in time for the installation of LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens MINILAND Model Display, a brand new character has arrived at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The fearsome First Order Stormtrooper of the blockbuster Star Wars™ film franchise, LEGO® Captain Phasma was spotted inspecting the model to ensure perfection ahead of its installation. The giant new model is the highlight of LEGO® Star Wars™ Days. This exclusive LEGOLAND event begins May 5 and runs for three consecutive weekends – more event days than ever before. Yum!  Have you seen the new Paddlefish Cheesecake dessert now on their menu?

It is New York Style Cheesecake topped with fresh farm strawberry compote.  At $9.00 it’s the perfect finish to a delicious meal.

When you visit Paddlefish at The Landing at Disney Springs you’ll board an iconic paddleboat anchored on Lake Buena Vista to feast on fresh seafood and savory steaks!

For dinner you can’t go wrong with Maine Lobster served with Farmer’s Market corn and new potatoes or any of their other seafood options including Salmon, Shrimp & Grits and Blackened Catfish.  Or try one of the Seafood Boil choices! If seafood isn’t your thing there are plenty of other options for you to pick from. From Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes to Pork Osso Bucco with cheesy grits, there is something for everyone.

When it comes to lunch, the sandwich options are fantastic.  Favorites include the Lobster Roll with Maine lobster, lemon-infused mayonnaise and celery on a split top bun; the Crab Cake BLT  with bacon, avocado, cheddar, lettuce, beefsteak tomato,  and rémoulade served on ciabatta; or the Caprese with fresh mozzarella, beefsteak tomato and basil aïoli on ciabatta. At both meals you can (and should!) try the Tableside Lobster Guacamole made right before your eyes!

And don’t forget about their amazing selections of beverages.  They have a wide variety of beers from draft beers to  American Craft beers and Domestic and Imported options. They have great Red and White wine choices available by the glass as well.  And their mixed and rocks drinks are fantastic and include favorites like Not Everyone’s Margarita and Prohibition Mai Tai.

We visited the Sprinkles location at Disney Springs yesterday and found an awesome tequila filled surprise! They have now created a key lime cupcake loaded with George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s award-winning Casamigos Tequila. As if that wasn’t enough they have topped it with yummy key lime frosting! There is even an edible sugar disc on top displaying the Casamigos Tequila logo.

This fun cupcake is priced at $5.25 and became available yesterday but will only stick around until May 13th.

The Disney Springs Sprinkles location serves up gourmet cupcakes baked fresh daily with unique flavors and high-quality ingredients. You can also succumb to late-night cravings with a visit to the perky, pink Cupcake ATM nestled outside. Check it out “Phineas and Ferb” fans!  As of Wednesday, May 2nd, every episode of Disney’s global hit animated series will be available to watch on DisneyNOW.

Thanks to DisneyNOW, the first season will be available for all users, while the subsequent three seasons will be available for verified users. Fans using DisneyNow can access full episodes of their favorite Disney Channels television shows on demand for free anytime, anywhere on their desktop, smartphone, tablet or connected TV devices. Viewers who sign in with a participating pay-TV provider can also watch a live 24-hour feed of the respective network and access exclusive programming events.

Also, throughout the month of May, Disney XD will air the entire “Phineas and Ferb” library – 126 episodes, seven one-hour specials and the record-breaking Disney Channel Original Movie “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension. Episodes will air weekdays, beginning Tuesday, May 1 (5:00-8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), leading into a “Phineas and Ferb” Memorial Day weekend marathon, Friday, May 25 (5:00 p.m. EDT/PDT) through Monday, May 28 (8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT).

The beloved Emmy® Award-winning series premiered on Disney Channel in 2008. In the U.S., it was TV’s #1 animated series among Tweens 9-14 and the #1 animated TV series in prime time among Kids 6-11 from 2008-2011.

While on a jaunt through Hollywood Studios, fellow Chip and Co. writer, Heather, and myself stopped by Fairfax Fare to try their new breakfast items.

There are four main breakfast items to choose from: a Breakfast Sandwich, Loaded Scrambled Eggs Bowl, oatmeal, and a basket of baked pastries.

First we tried the Breakfast Sandwich. For $8.79 Fairfax Fare serves up an onion roll topped with eggs, ham, Swiss cheese, spinach and herb-cheese spread.

 

Loaded Scrambled eggs Bowl

Next up was the Loaded Scrambled Eggs Bowl. For $7.99 you’ll get  bowl of scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, peppers onions and breakfast potatoes.

The scrambled eggs bowl offers a perfect blend of breakfast flavors and the breakfast sandwich has a touch of herb-flavoring which really gives the sandwich a boost. Both of these dishes were tasty, filling and provided us with plenty of energy to make it though the parks all day.

Be sure to get to Hollywood Studios and try out these breakfast items before the test phase is over.

One of my favorite segments in all of late night TV has to be the Mean Tweets bit on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” And, just because “Avengers: Infinity War” brought in over a record-breaking $250 million this past weekend, doesn’t mean its stars are immune from getting mean things tweeted at them on Twitter.

Take a look at some of the “Avengers: Infinity War” stars including Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chadwick Boseman reading their Mean Tweets:

During the clip, Tom Holland gets mocked for clapping when a plane lands, Samuel L. Jackson is compared to certain reptile, and Chadwick Boseman has his name made fun of!

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights on ABC at 11:35 pm EST. “Avengers: Infinity War” is in theaters everywhere.

Disney Research Is Building Baymax From Big Hero 6

Disney Research has released hardware design labeled “Design and Fabrication of a Soft Robotic Hand and Arm System”. It looks very similar to everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion, Baymax from the hit movie Big Hero 6. Baymax was created by Tadashi Hamada as a robotic nurse to help improve healthcare. Designed to be soft, he can assist his patients without harming them. Baymax is activated when he senses someone is in need of assistance.

“We present the hardware design and fabrication of a soft arm and hand for physical human-robot interaction,” according to the design and fabrication report. “Our goal is the realization of a robot arm and hand system which can physically interact with humans and gently manipulate objects.”

This Baymax inspired hand and arm is shown to gently ‘grasp’ a bag of marshmallows, showing the softness of the grip.

After the testing phase on the Baymax robotics, “the hand design was validated by implementing a grasping algorithm in which each finger follows a given trajectory until a certain fingertip pressure threshold is met.”

Researchers are hoping to better the design in the future but Baymax could be a reality soon!

Did you tune in for Disney Night on American Idol last night?  If so you probably got to hear Disney’s D Cappella perform.

Disney Music Group’s new a cappella singing sensation, D Cappella is pretty fantastic. As a group they delight listeners with favorite Disney Classics from tales like “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King” and many more. The group is made up of seven performers (ANTONIO FERNANDEZ, JOE SANTONI, MORGAN KEENE, ORLANDO DIXON, RJ WOESSNER, SHELLEY REGNER, SOJOURNER BROWN) and Deke Sharon serves as music director, arranger and artistic producer.

"Avengers: Infinity War" Has Biggest Box Office Opening Weekend Ever

Avengers: Infinity War officially delivered the biggest box office opening OF ALL TIME.

The Avengers sequel beat out Star Wars: The Force Awakens, making an estimated $258.2 million domestically on its opening weekend. And if that isn’t impressive enough, the movie has raked in $382.7 million internationally bringing its global tally to $640.9 million.

The numbers put Disney past the billion dollar mark in annual ticket sales faster than any other studio in history.

This weekend, Fox’s Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds sent congratulations to the Marvel team with this tongue-in-cheek tweet:

Meanwhile, there will be a bit of wait to see how that cliffhanger will be resolved. The follow-up to Infinity War will be released on May 3, 2019.

This cuter than words can describe popcorn bucket is shaped like a three tear Birthday cake! Donald sits giddily atop the cake, that is decorated with yellow “icing” Mickeys, and strawberries. The popcorn bucket comes with a carrying strap too. Donald’s Birthday popcorn bucket will be ¥ 2,500 and will be available on June 7, 2018 at the Tokyo Disneyland Parks and Resorts.
