Check Out The Awesome Mural Artwork At Splitsville In Downtown Disney

Splitsville Luxury Lanes opened only a few months ago at Downtown Disney in Disneyland and is already turning heads. It’s vibrant venue complete with dining, drinks, bowling and entertainment make for a fun family event. Guests are also enjoying the incredible artwork.

These custom murals are inspired by the Southern California location and cover most of the interior of Splitsville. There is also a ground floor mural that features an orange grove with a great big “orange” bowling ball. There is even a mural dedicated to the California grizzly bear. He’s even bowling! All of the murals at Splitsville were hand painted by the late artist and longtime location partner, Matt Callahan.

Splitsville features a 40,000 square foot, two story venue. It has 600 dining seats, two craft cocktail bars along with 20 bowling lanes. There is even an outdoor patio that has live entertainment everyday. Their menu includes rice bowls, sushi, pizza and more!

Due to Subtropical Storm Alberto Today's Disney Fantasy Sailing Changes Course

Due to the presence of Subtropical Storm Alberto, guests on the Disney Fantasy’s 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise departing from Port Canaveral today are being notified of alterations to the itinerary.

Here’s a look at the new schedule:

Saturday, May 26th – Port Canaveral
Sunday, May 27th – At Sea
Monday, May 28th – Falmouth, Jamaica
Tuesday, May 29th – Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Wednesday, May 30th, Cozumel, Mexico
Thursday, May 31st – At Sea
Friday, June 1st – Castaway Cay
Saturday, June 2nd – Port Canaveral

As a result of the storm, which will reportedly bring heavy rains and strong winds into the Gulf area, Disney Cruise Line opted to switch the dates the Fantasy will be stopping in Jamaica and Mexico to keep the ship out of the storm’s way. Guests with Port Adventures booked at either port are being advised that their excursions will be still be available when the ship stops at those ports.

Kim Possible Movie Casting News

We’ve got more live-action Kim Possible movie casting news! There are some big names being attached to this project and we are so excited! This live-action Disney Channel Original Movie is based on the global hit animated series about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains.

Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother”) will play the role of brain surgeon Dr. Ann Possible (aka Mom Possible) and Connie Ray (“The Big C”) joins the cast as grandmother Nana Possible! Also joining the cast are Todd Stashwick (“12 Monkeys”) and Taylor Ortega who will play fan-favorite villains Drakken and Shego, respectively; Ciara Wilson (“OMG!”) has been cast as new high school student Athena; and Erika Tham (“Make It Pop”) will play Kim’s childhood frenemy, Bonnie.

These new cast members join previously announced leads, Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible and Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable, in the comedy-adventure set to debut in 2019.

The writers of the “Kim Possible” live-action movie are the creators of the animated series, Emmy® Award-winning Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley (“Big Hero 6 The Series,” “The Penguins of Madagascar”), and Josh Cagan (“The DUFF,” “Bandslam”). Executive producers of the movie are McCorkle, Schooley and Zanne Devine (“I, Tonya,” “Easy A”). The movie will be co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (both of Disney XD’s “MECH-X4”). Blyth Nailling (ABC’s “Last Man Standing” and “Scrubs”) is the casting director.

Launched in 2002, the animated comedy-adventure series centered on a strong teenager who uses her brain, heart and expertise to save the day. Throughout 87 episodes, Kim Possible traversed the social hierarchy of high school and, with her loyal sidekick Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat Rufus by her side, thwarted power-hungry villains Drakken and Shego, among others. Two popular animated original movies, “Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama” in 2005, which was the first animated title in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, and “Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time” in 2003 are also a part of the Kim Possible franchise.

Viewers’ connection to “Kim Possible” also led to an off-TV franchise, including Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable characters at Disney Parks & Resorts and a line of “Kim Possible” branded consumer products at mass retail, soundtracks, books and games.

The live-action Kim Possible movie is set to debut on the Disney Channel in 2019!

Stitch Is Back At World of Disney But Guests Are Noticing A Difference

Experiment 626 is back at the World of Disney store in Disney Springs! Guests everywhere were disappointed when Stitch was removed a few weeks ago. Not only is he cute and fluffy, he also ‘spit’ on guests passing by, making him an attraction all on his own.

The World of Disney is experiencing some magical enhancements to the store’s interior. The store has been scaled down tremendously to allow for the construction work to take place. To make up for the loss of store space, Every After Jewelry Co and The Corner Store are carrying the merchandise from World of Disney temporarily.

A completion date has not been set but guests are very happy to see Stitch back in place above the World of Disney sign.

One big difference for Stitch though, he no longer spits on guests. We can only hope that this will change once construction is complete as it has been a guest favorite for years!

Disney Channel’s ‘Elena of Avalor’ Receives Prestigious Award

Do you have any “Elena of Avalor” fans in your house like me? If so, you’ll be happy to know that the show was recently honored with the Media Trailblazer Award during A Place Called Home’s 14th Annual GirlPower Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles.

A Place Called Hope (APCH) is located in Los Angeles and offers a safe, nurturing environment for at-risk youth, ages 8 to mid-20s. The non-profit’s Annual GirlPower Awards were created to celebrate strong, courageous women who are positive role models in their professional and social accomplishments and who inspire young girls to develop their potential and direct their lives onto a positive path. “Elena of Avalor” winning the award marks the first time the organization has ever handed out the Media Trailblazer Award to an animated series and the team behind it.

Craig Gerber (creator and executive producer of “Elena of Avalor”) along with Aimee Carrero (voice of Princess Elena), were on hand to accept the award. Even Princess Elena made an appearance too!

This past March, some of the members of the GirlPower program were invited to visit the “Elena of Avalor” production facility and were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour to see first hand what goes on bring the animated series to life and TV screens everywhere. The participants on this unique visit were able to speak with Craig Gerber and co-executive producer/story editor, Silvia Olivas, and met some of the artists, writers, and editors who work on the series. As an added bonus, each member received “Elena” Ear hats.

The time we have all been waiting for his officially here at Walt Disney World! This Memorial Day Weekend marks the beginning of an “Incredible” Summer! With a variety of different events at each of the Parks, this Summer is not only going to be magical but also “Incredible!”

“Incredible” Tomorrowland Expo at the Magic Kingdom

This event kicked off yesterday at the Magic Kingdom and we were there to celebrate! Highlights of this event include special appearances by Edna Mode, Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and other characters from the Disney·Pixar film “The Incredibles” and the upcoming “Incredibles 2.” Guests will also find a dance party, unique decorations, special photo ops, food, merchandise and more during this interactive event.

Donald’s Dino Bash at Animal Kingdom

Over at Animal Kingdom, Guests are invited to a prehistoric party hosted at DinoLand hosted by Donald Duck! Donald has discovered that ducks are actually descendants of dinosaurs and has invited all his friends to celebrate this finding including Daisy, Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack, and others during a rip-roaring party. Guests attending this daily event will be treated to a nightly Dino-Riffic dance party with Chip and Dale, along with a DJ spinning wild tunes.

Memorial Day Summer Kickoff at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

During this two day, free event, Guests are invited to enjoy a variety of food and beverage options, listen to high-energy music by a DJ, check out event merchandise, and more. Soccer fan? There will also be a television viewing party Saturday afternoon for the UEFA Champions League title match between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! Takes the Stage at Epcot

Guests are invited to Epcot to jam out with Star-Lord and Gamora from the hit movie series, “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The event will feature a live alien band and take Guests on a musical journey through the cosmos with hits from Awesome Mixtapes 1 and 2 – fun and favorite tunes from the two movies’ soundtracks – building the anticipation for a new Epcot Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. This event kicks off June 9.

Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Disney H2O Glow Nights

Guests are invited to this nighttime event to watch special lighting effects transform the water park like never before as Buzz, Woody and Jessie throw a Beach Party inspired by their friend, “Partysaurus” Rex. This event features dancing on the beach, play party games, and meet-ups with Buzz, Wood, and Jessie, plus, all attractions are open for guest enjoyment. H2O Glow Nights is offered Thursdays and Saturdays from June 21-August 11, from 8-11 pm. Disney H2O Glow Nights are a separate ticketed event and the party is not included in daytime admission.

Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios

And, what everyone might be most excited about this Summer is the official opening of Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios! When Guests enter this new land, they will shrink to the size of toys and experience the fun in Andy’s backyard. While there, Guests will be able to enjoy two new rides – Slink Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers. And, of course, Toy Story Mania will be open with a new entrance that will allow Guests to enter the queue directly through Toy Story Land. Andy’s Lunch Box will also be open for Guests to enjoy tasty meals and old-fashioned soda floats.

Fabulous new Mickey and Minnie Alex and Ani Bangles have arrived at Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories in Disney Springs. These beautiful new bangles are available in both silver, and wait for it… rose gold! These beautiful baubles are exclusive to Disney Springs through May 28!

There are a total of six bangles in this collection, three styles in each color. There is a classic Mickey, and classic Minnie Mouse bangle, featuring full color enamel charms. These feature Mickey and Minnie in their more traditional poses, and classic colors. There is also a Mickey silhouette bangle, which is a new take on a bracelet that was originally a wrap style. The silhouette bangle makes a great bracelet to wear on it’s own, or as an accent to another bangle. It seems the rose gold popularity has really taken off, because it has replaced to usual gold bracelets we see in these collections.
