We recently visited Epcot to see the Festival’s food and beverage offering and couldn’t pass the opportunity to try the Maple Buche de Noel! Beautifully crafted with an abundance of flavors that complimented each other and danced on our palate.

Look at that swirl! Pure perfection.

We also couldn’t wait to sink our teeth into the rich and chocolaty Gold Chocolate-Chip Cookie that would go well with a nice cup of coffee.

For guests who like to “Drink Around the World” there is also a special Blueberry Banjo Frosty available during this holiday season, with a non-alcoholic option available as well, called the Blueberry Slushy.

There is plenty to see and do at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays, and we know you will enjoy these delicious treats available in the Canadian Pavilion during the 2018 Holiday season.

The Haunted Mansion is not only my favorite Disney Attraction, but it was the very first Disney ride I ever went on! So when I think about Disney, the Haunted Mansion is always one of my favorite memories. This Home is Where The Haunted Mansion is T-Shirt definitely sums up the nostalgia many of us have for this iconic ride.

Thanksgiving is a time to come together with friends and family to feast and give thanks for what we hold most dear. Sadly, for many in this country, that is an opportunity that isn’t readily available due to homelessness. In that spirit, Thanksgiving is also a time to come together to support those who are less fortunate making it truly a season of giving. More than a fancy meal, Thanksgiving is a time to give back to our communities.

In keeping with their long-standing tradition of giving back, Disney Parks will be doing their part. On Thanksgiving, Chef Lenny DeGeorge (culinary director at Disney’s Animal Kingdom) together with his culinary team will prepare the traditional Thanksgiving feast and a team of VoluntEARS will serve the meal to more than 700 residents at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

Disney’s relationship with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is not a new one. In fact, Walt Disney Worlds food and beverage teams have been serving meals at the Coalition twice a month for the last 20 years. The belief in a strong community is a central value of the Walt Disney Company and they continually show this by their VoluntEARS work and charitable donations in local communities nationwide.

In honor of the holiday and the season of giving, Disney Kitchens has shared one of its favorite holiday recipes – a Sweet Potato Casserole – with us. We know what we will be bringing to our family potluck this year!

Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen at EPCOT is serving up great authentic Mexican food this holiday season. It’s part of EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays with a dish that will have you coming back for more!

The Enchilada de Pollo con Mole is made with chipotle chicken. The chicken is tucked into a corn tortilla, which is topped with Mole Negro. The enchilada is then garnished with shredded Oaxaca cheese and sesame seeds. Yum!

The amazing dish is one of Disney Food Blog’s Festival Winners for the 2018 Holiday Kitchens at the International Festival of the Holidays.

Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrate Mickey and Minnie Like Only They Can

On November 8th the world celebrated the birthday of one Mickey Mouse! This was no different at Shanghai Disney Resort who went all out to show their love and gratitude for the “mouse that started it all!” With activities across the city, Mickey (and Minnie too) were celebrated throughout China. Fireworks, shows, treats, and fans marked the 90th birthday of Mickey and Minnie…culminating in a fireworks spectacular held at Shanghai Disney Resort. Here’s a glimpse at the fun!

Happy Birthday From the Shanghai International Marathon

Mickey and Minnie were treated to a special treat to start their day. 30,000 runners from all over the world gathered to compete in the Shanghai International Marathon, one of China’s largest sporting events. The mousy couple cheered on runners as they cast their “Happy Birthday” wishes at the duo!

Celebrations at Shanghai Disney Resort

After the race…Mickey and Minnie headed back to Shangai Disney where (as the sun went down) they were treated to a special appearance by Goofy, Donald, and Pluto who were all sporting gifts for the two. Just in front of the Enchanted Storybook Castle, guests say an impromptu “Happy Birthday” to the pair. Thousands attended and belted the tune to commemorate 90 years of magic!

Some Very Special Guests

Some of the guests singing “Happy Birthday” to our favorite mice included hand-picked contest winners who received a special opportunity. Winners of the “Birthday Card for Mickey” campaign, a program coordinated by Disney, the Shanghai Adream Foundation, and China Eastern Airline, presented their personalized and hand-crafted birthday cards to Mickey himself.

Culminating With Special Fireworks

No evening at a Disney park would be complete without fireworks…especially when celebrating Mickey and Minnie’s birthday. Guests settled in for a original projection show followed by Ignite A Dream – A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light at the Enchanted Storybook Castle.

It was surely a day to remember as the world celebrated both Mickey and Minnie and their 90 years. Shanghai did their part by hosting guests for a magical experience that they’ll be sure to remember for the rest of their lives. We only wish that we could have experienced Mickey’s birthday at every park! Can’t be two places at one time though!

Universal's Holiday Parade Featuring Macy's Is A Must-See Wintery Event

Holiday festivities are kicking off all over the world, and Universal Orlando is no getting in on the seasonal fun. Like other parks and resorts around the globe, Universal Orlando is bringing holiday entertainment for guest to enjoy, complete with a holiday parade featuring Macy’s. Nothing gets you feeling more jubilant than a Christmas parade, right? Well be sure to check this one out for some much needed holiday fun.

Complete with snowfall, lights that twinkle, and festive music, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is a delight to guests young and old. For its second year, the parade will run from November 16 – January 6, 2019 and provide a jovial mix of ‘merry and mayhem.’ So what can you expect…let’s explore and find out together!

Characters Galore

“Featuring Macy’s” tell you one thing…character floats! And this parade has tons of them. Relive your childhood memories with beloved character appearances in float form or just walking the parade route. Each night characters from Despicable Me, Madagascar, Shrek and more are bringing holiday mischief and joy to parade spectators.

Larger Than Life Parade Floats

There are a total of 15 hand-made floats that participate in the parade. In whole, they will experience 26 miles of parade route over the season. That’s pretty astonishing. Included in these floats is a 30,000 lb dragon with a 16 ft wingspan! That’s huge! Not only that, but as is true to Macy’s, large balloons and other high-flying characters take flight through the parade route astonishing guests with their size. With these type of parade props, you can expect serious planning to have taken place to ensure complete control, which is why practice begins in the summer!

Pass Holders

As with many theme parks, pass holders at Universal Orlando should definitely consider taking advantage of specific viewing spots dedicated totally to them! Often, these spots offer the best view of the parade route.

More Characters and Dancers

The parade includes over 100 different characters and dancers sure to ‘wow’ guests!

Let It Snow

Orlando doesn’t get very cold, but you can bet you’re likely to see some snow flurries while viewing the parade. Last year, pumps pushed over 220 gallons of snow machine fluid over the head of amazed guests.

The Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s is definitely something to behold. If you find yourself down south this holiday season, be sure to pop in and check it out! Each item captured the whimsical spirit of Mary Poppins in fantastic detail.

This Mary Poppins trifle consists of layers of pound cake, mixed berries, raspberry jam, and pastry creme and is topped with a candy Mary Poppins silhouette. I don’t know about you, but I think that sounds amazing! You can get it for $13.99 (price includes a souvenir spoon).

There is something so immensely satisfying about it and I could just stand there and watch all day. I also love to watch the Candy Apple makers and….well just about all of it actually. The candymakers Disneyland have been hard at work creating delicious treats! You’ll want to hurry though, this festive fare is only available through Jan. 6, 2019. Letters For Santa at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe with Completed Refurbishment

Christmas is in the air. Here at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World, it’s always Christmas. You’ll always find gorgeous ornaments and delightful stockings any time of the year. At Christmastime, children are invited to mail a letter to Santa Claus.

Placed near the cash register area you will find crayons and clipboard with a letter template children can easily fill out. Santa’s bright red mailbox marked “Letters For Santa” is sitting right next to the clipboard and crayons so once the child completes the letter they can pop it right into the mailbox. I’m sure Santa picks up his mail after the parade and before he heads back to the North Pole.

Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in the Liberty Square section of Magic Kingdom Park has recently completed a quick refurbishment that began in September of this year.

Even though it was undergoing magical enhancements the shop did remain open throughout the process. It’s no wonder how easy it is to spend hours browsing around the shop taking in all of the ornaments, nutcrackers, and personalized Christmas gifts the shop has to offer. It’s so wonderful that it’s Christmas every day here.

Cirque du Soleil in Disney Springs is Holding Auditions

If you’ve ever gone to a Cirque du Soleil show and walked away thinking “Hey! I could do that!” Now is your chance! Auditions are being held for a BRAND NEW SHOW in development. Cirque du Soleil is looking for a Mime or physical actor to play a non-speaking role. If you’re interested check out the requirements below!

Character’s traits:
Tall, slim man
Plays the piano
Height 6’00” (1.83 cm) and up
Fatherlike figure.

Requirements:
Ability to portray character’s traits
Extensive training and professional experience in mime or physical acting
Piano skills, a strong asset
Experience working with or comfortable performing alongside kids between 10 and 12 years of age
Be available starting November 2019 for a minimum of two years.
If you meet the above requirements, please submit an application. To include in your application:
A CV/resumé (including years of training and professional experience, height, weight, date of birth, citizenship, etc.)
2 photos (one headshot and one full-length photo)
A maximum one-minute presentation (slate) to the camera in English: tell us your name, your age, your city of residence, general background and your reasons for wanting to join Cirque du Soleil
1 video (maximum 5 minutes) of a physical acting performance on stage or in a studio
1 video about any other skill that you may have (maximum – 3 minutes).
