RunDisney’s Wine & Dine 2019 Half Marathon Weekend Race Themes Revealed. Now you can plan out your costumes for the Disney Wine & Dine 2019 Half Marathon Weekend runDisney Races! Woo hoo!

Get ready racers! runDisney has released the themes for this years races during the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. The races this year will take place from October 31st – November 3rd at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The Disney Fall Feast 5K will be themed after Disney Classic Animated Feature Film, The Jungle Book. The 5K race will take place at Epcot for the first time ever! Participants in the Disney Fall Feast 5K race will receive a special tee shirt as part of their registration amenities.

Sven and Olaf, from Disney’s Frozen, will host the Disney Wine & Dine 10K. This year your friends and family are welcome to join the “ChEAR Squad” and witness the racing event from the finish line at both the Disney Wine & Dine 10K and the Half Marathon races. Be sure to check out the “ChEAR Squad packages on the runDisney site to get them signed up!

Mickey Mouse is wearing his best patriotic outfit and will be running the whole 13.1 miles with true American Spirit in the 10th Anniversary Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Be sure to prep your best Red, White, and Blue apparel for this Half Marathon!

After this 19.3-mile FIESTA styled run with the Three Caballeros (Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles) for the Disney Two Course Challenge you will want to take a well deserved siesta. But hurry! Spot of filling up fast!

Now in 2019, participants in both the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon and the Disney Two Course Challenge will get the chance to celebrate with early entry to the weekend-exclusive Post-Race Party! Participants can enjoy all the festivities of the 2019 Epcot Food & Wine Festival starting at 5 p.m., with special 10th Anniversary after hours fun and entertainment starting at 10 p.m. Participants can order tickets for their friends and family to join them at this special event by CLICKING HERE!

Get the whole family involved with the runDisney Kids Races, hosted by runDisney and GoGo squeeZ Applesauce. the 2019 runDisney Kids Races are themed after Timon and Pumbaa from Disney’s The Lion King. Beat the Heat With A Treat From Puck’s Gelateria at Disney Springs. This ‘grab and go’ styled quick service location is a great place to stop and get a special drink or treat to fight the heat while walking around Disney Springs.

Puck’s Gelateria can be found adjacent to Wolfgang Puck’s Bar & Grill at their new location near Planet Hollywood, in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort.

The menu consists of Cold and Hot Beverages, wide variety of Gelato flavors, sorbet, toppings, brownie bites, and for guests over the age of 21, Beer, Cocktails, and Specialty Drinks.

Toys and merchandise inspired by Pixar’s Toy Story 4 has begun to hit shelves at retailers worldwide. Toy Story 4 Inspired Toys are already popping up at shops just in time for when the movie comes to theaters June 21, 2019.

Epcot International 2019 Food and Wine Festival Merchandise Preview

Minnie’s Garden Party had a sweet surprise for guests attending this week. A delightful display featuring a preview of the 2019 Food and Wine Festival Merchandise! This delicious display offered a peek at what we can except to see when the festival returns this year in August.

It looks like they’ve gone a new direction this year, and I’m very excited about that! The first look showed a cutesier cupcake and pastry inspired theme, versus the usual rich provencal style of grapes and cheese. Lots of rose gold and pink hues are used in this collection along side frosted confections.

The Mickey and Minnie chef designs have also gotten a very cute update. I also spy on the oven mit a new design for the World Showcase landmarks!

We’ll be seeing new mugs and drinkware for this festival too.

Of course what we all want to know about, the Minnie Ears! The 2019 Food and Wine festival will have rose gold cupcake ears! It’s like Disney took my favorite things and made ears, rose gold, mouse ears, AND cupcakes, how much more perfect could they be?

This definitely looks to be one of multiple assortments for the Food and Wine Festival, just like how we saw the multiple lines for Flower and Garden this year. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we see more than one pair of Minnie ears for F&W this year too!

California Legislature Officially Declares May the 4th “Star Wars Day”

California Legislature Officially Declares May the 4th “Star Wars Day”. According to THR, in honor of the fan established ‘holiday’ the State of California put to a vote and declared May 4th to officially be “Star Wars Day.”

Before getting too political on the matter, please note there was a serious side to this vote.

During discussions about matters of the state, California legislation acknowledged that Disneyland Resort will soon be opening up its biggest expansion since the parks creation, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the new land is projected to bring an estimated $14 million in tax revenue to the City of Anaheim annually. So this was indeed a cause for celebration for the insolvent state by its government.

During the voting session it was also acknowledged that The Walt Disney Company has a “decades-long record of enhancing the quality of life for people in California and beyond” and they wanted to do something in celebration of the ‘neighborly’ relationship between TWDC and The State of California.

To mark the special occasion a charity group dressed as Stormtroopers from the Star Wars franchise gathered at the states Capitol and a hot air balloon in the shape of Yoda was flow from the Capitol Building steps.

Now that it’s official (at least in California), Happy Star Wars Day, Everyone, and May the 4th be with you!

Lucasfilm’s Cult Classic ‘Willow’ May Get A Series or Sequel on Disney+

Lucasfilm’s Cult Classic ‘Willow’ May Get A Series or Sequel on Disney+. The popular 1988 Lucasfilm Film, starring Warwick Davis as ‘Willow’, may get revived for Disney +, Disney’s new streaming service coming this November.

During the filming of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Ron Howard, who directed both Willow and stepped in as director for Solo, was approached by one of the writers, Jon Kasdan, about the idea of exploring other intellectual properties of Lucasfilm, particularly Willow. Willow is an 80’s cult classic about a reluctant dwarf who’s children find a human infant girl in a river and must protect this special child from an evil queen.

“There are some really serious discussions going on with Jon Kasdan, who was one of the writers of Solo, who kept hounding me about Willow the whole time we were shooting and also hounding Kathy Kennedy,” Howard said. “We’re in discussions about developing a Willow television show for the Disney+. And I think it’d be a great way to go. In fact, George [Lucas] always talked about the possibility of a Willow series, and it’d be great and more intimate, and built around that character and some of the others. And Jon Kasdan has, I think, an inspired take on it and it could be really, really cool.”

During an interview with Comicbook.com, Howard did not confirm anything has been green-lit for the project, but stated there were talks going on at Lucasfilm and with Disney about the potential for a series that could be released via Disney+, Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service set to be available in November 2019.

“I don’t want to give away too much, but there is a little talk of Willow,” Howard said. “We wouldn’t call it Willow 2, I think it would focus a lot on Elora Danan, although Willow would have to be significantly involved.”

Howard also added, “I thought about that movie a lot as I was working on Solo because there are certain scenes, especially around some of the Madmartigan stuff, was reminiscent of a character with that kind of swagger and bravado. And also some of the humor around some of the action in Willow was something I inspired to get into Solo.”

If the project is green-lit by Disney and Lucasfilm we would not see anything Willow related on Disney+ for the first few years of streaming while they write, film, and produce the series. There is no word yet from Warwick Davis if he would be willing to reprise his role as Willow for the potential series.

Fans of the 80’s hit film are excited at the idea they might get to see more of Willow’s story and feeling a wave of nostalgia at the mention of the classic film. Would you like to see a Willow Series on Disney+? Let us know in the comments!

Disney Brings Avengers: Endgame to the US Troops in Afghanistan

We shared the news last week of the interaction with Bob Iger and a fan on Twitter about bringing Avengers: Endgame to the troops overseas.

U.S. troops stationed overseas in Afghanistan who had been resigned to avoiding spoilers until the end of their deployments were surprised with special screenings of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame this week. The Walt Disney Company brought the record-shattering film to Bagram Air Field on Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, with showings planned for Kandahar this weekend.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger was inspired by a social media post from Kat Lancaster, a Disney fan whose husband, Air Force Major Joshua-Lee Lancaster, is currently deployed. Iger and Disney reached out to the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, and a plan was put into action to bring Avengers: Endgame to the biggest American bases in the region.

“We’re thrilled to be able to do something special for our troops in Afghanistan, to boost morale and show our gratitude for their service,” said Iger. “I’m grateful to Kat Lancaster for the great suggestion, and to the Army & Air Force Exchange Service for helping us make this happen.”

Servicemen and women assembled for multiple showings of the film, which arrived at Bagram under the highest security. The disk that contained the film could only be unlocked with a special code that was guarded by Army & Air Force Exchange Service employees and Disney’s senior vice president of North American theatrical distribution, Ken Caldwell.

Disney has a history of partnering with Army & Air Force Exchange Service to bring films from Marvel and Star Wars to bases in Afghanistan, Iraq and other U.S. Central Command locations, in some cases, even ahead of their official releases in the U.S. This is one of the many ways that The Walt Disney Company supports our troops—both while they are serving and after they have transitioned out of the armed forces—and is part of a commitment to military families and veterans that includes the Heroes Work Here program, which has led to the hiring of more than 10,000 veterans since the 2012 launch of this companywide initiative.

Jim Cummings voice actor for Winnie the Pooh accused of rape and animal abuse by his ex-wife

According to reports online Jim Cummings voice of Winnie the Pooh has been accused of rape and animal abuse by his ex-wife.

Documents were filed in Los Angeles court by Stephanie Cummings of his alleged actions of misconduct.

The couple were married back in 2001 and divorced 10 years later in 2011. They have recently been battling in court over allegations of Mr. Cummings’ misconduct and treatment of Ms. Cummings since they divorced up through 2018.

Blast is reporting since her divorce from Jim, he has engaged in physical, sexual and emotional abuse including but not limited to death threats, rape, and various sexual deviant behavior forced upon me without my consent.

His ex-wife has obtained two separate domestic violence restraining orders against Jim and he did not dispute the incident but remembers it differently than his ex. Ms. Cummings is claiming fear for their daughters’ safety and is seeking full custody of their girls.

In addition to filing a temporary restraining order against his ex-wife on March 1, 2019, Jim filed a child custody and visitation order to prevent his ex-wife from having access to their daughters.

Jim has done over 400 different animated characters such as Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh and more.

Disney to offer New Extra Extra Magic Hours for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and beyond

Guests of Disney and other select Disney World Hotels will have more opportunities to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours benefit with Extra, Extra Magic Hours for a limited time at select Disney theme parks!

The Extra, Extra Magic Hours benefit will include Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as other experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom theme parks.

Here’s the rundown:

Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Daily from Sept. 1-Nov. 2, the park will have Extra, Extra Magic Hours from 6-9 a.m., including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, plus Toy Story Land attractions and select other attractions. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its experiences subject to capacity.

(Please note that on Aug. 29-31, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open at 6 a.m. for all guests. There will not be Extra, Extra Magic Hours on those days.)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Extra, Extra Magic Hours will happen daily Aug. 29-Nov. 2, from 7-8 a.m., featuring Pandora – The World of Avatar and other attractions throughout the park (same as today’s morning Extra Magic Hours offerings).

Magic Kingdom Park —Extra, Extra Magic Hours will happen daily from Aug. 29-Nov. 2, from 7-8 a.m., featuring favorite attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland (same as today’s morning EMH offerings).

Extra Magic Hours will also continue to be available on select days at Epcot.

If you’re visiting this fall, you should know that the Extra, Extra Magic Hours benefit at the Walt Disney World Resort requires a valid theme park admission and hotel ID. Guests without the Park Hopper Option or Park Hopper Plus Option must spend the day at the same park where they’d like to enjoy the Extra, Extra Magic Hours benefit.

Also, not all Walt Disney World attractions are available with the Extra Magic Hours benefit. Park hours and available attractions are subject to change without notice. *Applicable theme park, days and times of operation, attraction and service availability may vary and are subject to change without notice. Extra Magic Hours is one of the many benefits and amenities you can enjoy as a guest of a Disney Resort hotel.
