Universal Orlando Resort has created its most life-like animated figure for the most highly themed, immersive coaster experience yet, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – opening June 13. And it’s none other than Hogwarts gamekeeper and Care of Magical Creatures professor himself – Hagrid.

Guests will come face-to-face with Hagrid during their journey as his hyper-realistic animated figure tries to contain his beloved Blast-Ended Skrewt. The gentle half-giant will guide guests through their adventure into the Forbidden Forest as they encounter some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Hagrid’s animated figure are being brought to life by Universal Creative, the team responsible for creating Universal’s iconic rides and attractions. The team spent thousands of hours creating Hagrid’s animated figure with a level of detail that has never been done before, working alongside actor Robbie Coltrane – who portrays Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series – to develop the most advanced and realistic animated figure of its kind.

No details were spared when precisely replicating Hagrid for this new experience. Every detail about Hagrid is authentic to what has been featured in the Harry Potter film series – all the way down to his iconic pink umbrella.

The animated figure features an extensive motion profile of 24 different body movements and facial expressions, mimicking Robbie Coltrane’s exact motions as Hagrid from the Harry Potter film series
A digital scan of Robbie Coltrane’s mouth was used to create Hagrid’s teeth
Hagrid’s entire face was meticulously sculpted by hand
Hagrid’s costume was designed by the same team that created his on-screen wardrobe
Robbie Coltrane recorded a custom script for Hagrid in this new adventure
And the height of the animated figure is 7 feet 6 inches tall – exactly proportional to Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series.

Environmental Groups Issue Concerns Over Disney Cruise Line’s Development Of Lighthouse Point

Back in March, we wrote about an agreement signed by the Government of the Bahamas, for Disney Cruise Line to develop an area of land at Lighthouse Point. Disney purchased the property from Meritage Hospitality Group back in 2018 and plans to create a cruise port here for guests on Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries.

However, five environmental groups have recently joined forces to oppose the project under its current environmental guidelines. BREEF, EARTHCARE, reEarth, Save The Bays and Waterkeeper Alliance wrote in a letter to Walt Disney Company’s top sustainability officer, that they have concerns about the size of the project, and the adequacy of the environmental impact study.

Per the signed Heads of Agreement, no construction will take place before the environmental impact assessment (EIA) has been completed. But, the groups are concerned that the assessment is being handled by a very small consulting firm from the Bahamas. They are concerned that this group lacks the recourses to conduct an assessment for the size and scope of the Disney project.

The environmental groups included a comprehensive list of studies and analyses that should appear in the EIA. They also expressed that Disney seeks out additional firms for the project if all of the recommended studies cannot (or will not) be completed by the small Bahamian firm.

Lighthouse Point sits on the southernmost tip of the island chain, and the property is considered an important natural and cultural site, located in the heart of a Marine Protected Area.

Late last month Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., President of the Waterkeepers Alliance, made a visit to the site to speak about the proposed project:

“Companies do not have the right to destroy something that they can’t create… Disney needs to show that they are going to protect (Lighthouse Point) and not degrade it.”

The environmental groups hope to see Disney live up to the high environmental standards that it holds for it’s other properties to around the world. Disney has many beneficial standards and large Environmental initiatives in place at its many parks and resorts as well.

In addition to the creation of the new cruise port, 190 acres of land will be donated back to the Bahamian Government for conservation and the creation of a public national park.

Watch the All New Trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, in Theaters July 2. Warning: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame!

Marvel Studios has released the new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the first film taking place after the outcome of Avenger: Endgame. Fair warning, the trailer and this article contain major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, do not continue reading this article or watch the trailer if you have not seen Avengers: Endgame.

First let’s watch the new official trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home then we’ll discuss what we see:

Wow. Okay, let’s dive in to what we know about the movie so far.

The film opens with Peter Parker still morning the passing of Tony Stark after his heroic sacrifice to save all those who were lost after the first Snap from Thanos. Tony succeeded in his endeavor to save those who were lost and bring them forward to their current timeline so his daughter Morgan, and others like her, could still be alive as well. It was a majorly heartbreaking moment as Tony could finally rest after everything he has done and we saw almost every character return towards the end of the film, including Peter and apparently his friends from school who are still in High School despite the 5 year difference. Yup, that means they would have disappeared in the snap as well.

Happy, Tony Starks ex-body guard and close friend, has been working with Peter/Spider-Man since Tony’s passing and has even been helping him try to fill the role Tony/Iron Man left behind since Happy knew how much Tony cared about Peter and his future. In an earlier trailer it also appears Happy has a *thing* for Peter’s Aunt May.

Moving forward, We also know that Nick Fury has feverishly been trying to get ahold of Peter, apparently for quite some time. While he and his friends go on a school trip to Europe, Nick interrupts the trip and brings Peter into the fold of a new mission. He is unsure at first and asks if anyone else can help, but at the moment it seems to just be Peter/Spider-Man. Well, him and “Beck”.

Who is “Beck”? Fans of the comics, especially Spider-Man will recognize “Beck” as Mysterio a regular adversary of Spider-Man in the comics. It appears Beck/Mysterio is on their side at the moment, but who knows how long that will last.

For now, it seems Mysterio has stepped in to be the hero for Earth at a moment where it is desperately in need of someone to take the place of those who have fallen or are currently unavailable. Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed Beck is wearing a wedding ring. That could make things much more interesting since Beck/Mysterio isn’t known to be married in the comics. We will see where that goes.

Oh and one more thing….

Beck CONFIRMS the MULTIVERSE in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No big deal, right??? We won’t go down the significance of that thread at the moment because there are literally books worth of material on that matter. Just know that is very very very important.

I hope you enjoyed the trailer as much as we did. We can’t wait to see Spider-Man in action this summer!

New MagicBand options are coming to Walt Disney World!

Planning your trip to WDW is half the fun, in my opinion. Choosing where to eat, what to ride, how to dress, and receiving your MagicBand in the mail are all part of the Disney experience!

Previously, you were able to choose a MagicBand customized with your name and favorite color. Now, Disney has added a few more choices!

Disney Resort hotel guests and new/renewing Annual Passholders will now have the option to upgrade (at a discounted price) from the free solid-color MagicBands to one of more than 30 new options! The new options will feature your favorite Disney characters and designs.

You can purchase the new MagicBands before your trip for $14.99 less than the regular retail cost when you order through the My Disney Experience website.

PizzeRizzo’s Has Re-Opened At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, For Now

PizzeRizzo Now Closed - Reopen is Unsure

PizzeRizzo’s Has Re-Opened At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, For Now. The Famous Original PizzeRizzo, located near Muppets 3D has re-opened as of May 4th.

Previously Disney had announced that PizzeRizzo’s would act as a seasonally operated restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the foreseeable future, but they seem to have reopened the doors earlier than anyone could have anticipated.

This could partly be due to the fact that the ABC Commissary has closed for refurbishment and PizzeRizzo’s can accommodate a heavy number of guests during lunch time at the park.

PizzeRizzo’s is currently operating from 11a.m. – 4p..m at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The restaurant is set to operate at this time from now through May 25th, but that may extend into Disney’s Summer hours depending on how long the ABC Commissary is closed (At least until June 1st) and if Disney decides to keep the location open to guests for the summer.

Walt Disney World Provided 40,000 Disney Books to Central Florida.

Through a collaboration between Disney, First Book and A gift for teaching, Walt Disney World provided 40,000 Disney books to Central Florida educators, children and families in need during the second annual First Book Family Festival which took place Saturday, May 4, 2019. The 40,000 books donated by Disney Worldwide Publishing represented both classic and new Disney tales appealing to readers of all variety of ages.

Through a longstanding partnership with the nonprofit organization dedicated to providing new books to educators and organizations serving children from low-income families, First Book, Disney aims to inspire children. First book and Disney hope to inspire children and families by cultivating a lifelong love of imaginative storytelling and reading. “The Magic of storytelling and the power of imagination can be seen in every corner of Walt Disney World Resort. Extending that magic and power beyond our resort and into the homes of our neighbors helps to cultivate a love of learning, reading and growing together,” states Tajiana Ancora-Brown, director of external affairs for Walt Disney World Resort.

To help make this festival possible, over 100 Disney VoluntEARs from across Walt Disney World Resort, alongside family and friends, helped bring the festival to life by organizing the 40,000 books donated by genre and age.

“Much like Walt Disney World Resort, reading has the power to transport children and families into other worlds, letting them explore all their imaginations have to offer. There’s no better wa for us to showcase the magic of reading than by partnering with Disney to host events like the one today,” states Kyle Zimmer, president, CEO and co-founder of First Book.

The unique festival experience was open to all educators, nonprofit organizations servicing children, and families in the Central Florida area. Participants were encouraged to come out and explore the magic of reading. Those attending the event left with new, Disney-themed books, providing opportunities of in-home experiences where children and families can read and explore their imaginations together.

The NBA Experience Construction is Almost Complete!

The NBA Experience Construction is almost complete! Look how massive this place is, although we are not that surprised due to the amount of experiences the NBA Experience attraction offers. In the summer of 2019, guests can now have an NBA experience at Disney Springs! Created by Walt Disney Imagineers, in collaboration with the NBA, this experience will be an amazing interactive experience for everyone!

This experience will be out of this world as you start of by experiencing a huge milestone in any basketball players life. The NBA Draft! During this experience you will have the opportunity re-create the atmosphere of the draft stage in your career complete with a photographic moment.

Players will then take part in a replicated NBA Combine challenge. During this stage players will track and improve their jump shots and passing skills. But make sure you do your best, because at the end of the session players will see the scouting report that highlights the players stats.

Great you made it! Now it’s time you take your first steps out onto the court to hear the roar of the crowd. Don’t get sucked into the fame and stardom. Players now need to maneuver through a series of timed shots to aim for a high score! Nice moves you have there! You are one amazing player, now execute that slam dunk for the cameras around the basket can capture!

Way to go scout! You are doing amazing!! However, you are not done yet! We have more skills to test! Next up, your ball-handling skills. Your interactive trainer will challenge you with a variety of dribbling routines. Do you have what it takes?

Guests will also have the opportunity to use an over-sized slingshot to launch basketballs at hoops of varying heights. The player has the challenge to make as many shots as possible before time runs out.

If all this fun wasn’t enough, guests will also have other NBA experiences that will top of their amazing adventure. Guests can immerse themselves in the history of NBA and WNBA championship-winning teams, access a team locker room complete with up-to-date statistics, test their knowledge of the NBA and WNBA, and enjoy two 180-degree cinematic presentations.

New Avengers Attractions Making Way into Many Disney Parks Across the Globe!

As all fans know, Avengers: Endgame killed it in theaters across the world! Now new Avengers attractions will be smashing their way into many Disney parks across the globe! As of May 3, 2019, the movie shattered records with $1.2 Billion in box offices worldwide! Yes, that is Billion, with a “B”!!

Disney has previously announced that the Avengers will be setting up new headquarters around the world! New Avengers attractions will be in at Disney’s California Adventure, Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Hong Kong Disneyland paved the way for the new Avengers Attraction with the debut of the fan-favorite Iron Man Experience that opened in 2017 and the new Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle which debuted in March. As a continued effort, the Iron Man attraction is part of the continued development of an ultimate hub for Super Hero action as part of the multi-year expansion for Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disney’s California Adventure will begin their recruitment for the new Super Hero-themed land in 2020! In addition, headquarters in California and Disneyland Paris will “invite new recruits to ‘suit up’ alongside Spider-Man with the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB).”

Disneyland Paris will also be gaining new Avengers attraction at the Walt Disney Studios Park to include a re-imagined attraction where “riders will team up with Iron Man and their favorite Avengers on a hyper-kinetic adventure”.

Go For A Wild Ride With The Cozy Knits Mr. Toad Plushie

The Cozy Knits plush collection is taking a wild ride, with a cute plush inspired by the film the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. The Cozy Knits Mr. Toad is a cute and cuddly version of the fast driving toad. He’s dressed for a day in the countryside, even though it won’t be the leisurely ride we’re expecting.

We found this cutie at Walt Disney World, even though the iconic ride is no longer there. It’s a nice bit of nostalgia for fans who love and miss the ride from Magic Kingdom though. He’s knitted in his classic red jacket and dapper blue bowtie.

The automobile crazed toad joined other classic and vintage characters as part of the Cozy Knits collection, and retails for $27.99. The tag also has the date “1949” on it, which is the year the movie The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad debuted. I wonder what the next character in the Cozy Knits series will be?

‘Avengers: Endgame’ is fastest movie to reach $2 Billion in box office sales

Avengers: Endgame’s historic run continues this weekend. The blockbuster film from Marvel Studios has crossed the $2 billion mark at the global box office, earning an estimated worldwide gross of $2.189 billion in just 11 days of release—the fastest any film has reached this threshold. Avengers: Endgame is now one of just five films ever to earn more than $2 billion globally, joining its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War as the second Marvel Studios film on the list; and, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it becomes the third release from The Walt Disney Studios to achieve this milestone.

The film has now moved past Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068 billion) and even Titanic($2.187 billion) to become the No. 2 release of all time behind only Avatar ($2.788 billion).

Avengers: Endgame now holds the No. 9 all-time spot domestically, with $620 million; and is No. 2 internationally, with $1.528 billion, behind only Avatar ($2.028 billion).

Records continue to fall overseas.
