Must-Do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences at Disneyland Park.

Must-Do Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Experiences at Disneyland Park.

With over 14 acres there are many must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences located throughout the new land at Disneyland Park. The new land, which opened May 31, 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is packed with immersive storytelling and these 10 must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences at Disneyland Park.

The number one must-do on everyone’s list is to fly the “Fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run. Guests can strap into the Falcon cockpit to take control while on a mission to help Hondo smuggle goods.  Pro-tip: Save this for the last thing on your list since they won’t kick you out of line.

The next must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences at Disneyland Park is to visit the Black Spire Outpost Marketplace. The bustling marketplace is full of vendors showcasing wares from across the galaxy. While visiting, guests can pick up authentic Batuuan attire, start a collection of rare artifacts at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, or peek into the cages in the creature stall.

Ever wonder what the blue milk tastes like that Luke Skywalker experienced in “Star Wars: A New Hope”? Guests visiting the Black Spire Outpost can stop by the Milk Stand to pick up the delicious frozen blends of both blue and green milk with dashes of fruity accents.

Don’t have time to sit down to eat? Grab a bite to go at Ronto Roasters! The marketplace stall offers mouth-watering Ronto wraps, sweet-or-spicy Nuna Turkey Jerky, and a selection of specialty beverages. While you wait, be sure to check out the large podracing engine hanging overhead and the former smelter droid turning a spit of meats.

Next on the list of must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences at Disneyland Park is, of course, to craft together a Lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop or build a Droid inside the Droid Depot. Guests can construct a Lightsaber, which is a rite of passage in the life of a Jedi, at Savi’s Workshop- Handbuilt Lightsabers. Feel the force as you craft your own Lightsaber with customizations of various hilts, décor and the all-important kyber crystals. Pro-tip: Build your own Lightsaber is by reservation only.  Guests must make their reservation, pay for their Lightsaber and then wait for your build time.  The experience takes about One hour to complete.

Guests can build some of the most loyal companions in the Star Wars galaxy at the Droid Depot. Guests can build and customize their own astromech friends by picking their own pieces and parts from a conveyor belt to construct one of the two core models (R-series or BB-series).

Must-Do Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Experiences at Disneyland Park.

Once you have completed your Lightsaber and/or Droid, the next stop on the must-do list is to drop by for a drink at Oga’s Cantina. Guests can gather in the heartbeat of Black Spire Outpost to share their tales from around the galaxy as they enjoy exotic beverages served in unique vessels with a coaster.  Pro-tip: This line is very long and you should head here first if you are after one of these amazing Tiki Mugs!

While you are exploring the new land be sure to download the Play Disney Parks Mobile App to gain access inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on your very own datapad. Use your datapad throughout the land to scan the contents hidden inside containers, translate languages and tune into communications.

While using the Play Disney Parks Mobile app throughout the land, guests can also play the game “Outpost Control” where you can choose to support the Resistance or the First Order. The faction that controls the majority of the blinking light panels next to doorways throughout Black Spire Outpost first wins the game and demonstrates their allegiance to their side’s cause. The conflict plays out multiple times a day.

Finally, the last must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experience is to keep your eyes open for Kylo Ren, Rey, and other Star Wars characters. Guests may encounter the supreme leader Kylo Ren as he lands at Black Spire Outpost to gather Stormtroopers to help him hunt for Resistance fighter Rey, the Millennium Falcon co-pilot Chewbacca, or Resistance spy Vi Moradi.

Guests can enjoy these must-do Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences at the Disneyland Park starting May 31, 2019. May the force be with you!

Tram And Security Updates At Hollywood Studios

Tram And Security Updates At Hollywood Studios

We have spotted more changes at the parks! It appears there are tram and security updates at Hollywood Studios. These updates are exciting as it appears they are more permanent!

New security and tram drop off areas have finally been revealed. Thankfully, it appears the security area is actually larger than it was previously. This should allow guests to enter the park more smoothly. Especially during those morning rush hours. It is now located more towards the left side as you enter from the parking lot. We also noted the fans above security which will help tremendously during summer in Florida.

Tram And Security Updates At Hollywood Studios

With the move, the no bag line is more central to the tables instead of off to the side as it is at other parks. All the new security tables are undercover via the blue structure instead of any temporary tents. We also noticed some new lighting around the security area to help out once the sun sets. All in all the new security area is really nice.

Tram And Security Updates At Hollywood Studios

If you have been to Hollywood Studios recently, you may recall a very long walk past many work fences. This long walk occurred after the parking tram stop which was inconvenient for many guests. Finally, after months of temporary tram stops, the new permanent one has been unveiled. This one is closer to the main entrance and easier to navigate towards the front. I’m sure many will rejoice that the tram finally stops closer to the entrance. Especially once the park closes and no one wants to make a long walk to the tram to get to their car.

All of these changes should help with guest flow. Once Galaxies Edge opens up, the new security and tram areas are bound to see some heavy use.

Thank you to @seanatdisney for the photos!

LEGO Ideas: Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO Project

LEGO Ideas: Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO Project

If you haven’t heard about the LEGO Ideas page, it’s a really fun site to check out. It is a community where fans can submit their ideas, like this amazing Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO Project. Sometimes these ideas can even become a reality like the Steamboat Willie LEGO set we all fell in love with earlier this year.

After seeing the very cool Haunted Mansion LEGO project last month, I’ve become totally addicted to searching the site for cool Disney inspired ideas. There are lots of amazing fan submitted projects, and there are many I hope we one day see become a reality, like the Main Street Train Station.

Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO

The train station on Main Street U.S.A. is one of the first things we notice when entering the Magic Kingdom. It has long been a welcoming entry way for people who call the Disney Parks, home. This set is meant to capture the striking visual aspect and the wonder of the Train Station in Lego form.

Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO

The station is fully three dimensional, and has 360° of gorgeously detailed views. The train station itself measures about 24 inches by 6 inches.

LEGO Ideas: Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO Project

The Main Street Train Station LEGO project comes complete with a built in motor and IR capability. An engine, coal car, and two passenger cars make up the train measuring about 29 inches. I love how there is even a puff of LEGO “smoke” coming from the smoke stack!

Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO

What is great about the Main Street Train Station LEGO Project is that it would appeal to Disney fans, and train collectors alike! Can you imagine setting up a full circular track for this, and having it go around the incredible 4,000 piece Disney Castle LEGO setLEGO Ideas: Main Street U.S.A. Train Station LEGO Project?

What do you think of the fan submitted ideas to LEGO Ideas, do you hope we see more of these awesome fan inspired projects become real sets?

Over 600 Anaheim Children Enjoyed an Unforgettable Experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Over 600 Anaheim Children Enjoyed an Unforgettable Experience at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

This week, over 600 Anaheim children enjoyed an unforgettable experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The kids were given the opportunity to explore this all-new land and all that it has to offer.

The kids, from many non-profit organizations in Anaheim, were invited to explore Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Thursday afternoon. The organizations included the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Boys and Girls Club. This was a whole new experience for all involved as previously, only VIPs, cast members and their guests and the news media had been permitted to enter the land.

The kids were able to spend 4 hours building their very own lightsabers, eating in the new restaurants, exploring the shops and of course, riding the newest attraction – Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.  The kids also had some great photo opportunities with the iconic ship and beloved Star Wars characters including Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, and even Rey!

Over 600 Anaheim Children Enjoyed an Unforgettable Experience at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Many of the kids came by bus to visit the park but a few were so close that they were able to walk! Some of the kids had never visited Disneyland Resort before. The Anaheim YMCA CEO, Rick Martens, points out that for many of these kids, it was a “life-changing experience” to come to the park for even one day. Martens said that the YMCA After-School program helps 7,000 of Anaheim’s neediest kids, including 180 homeless children.

What a wonderful way to encourage a love of Star Wars in these younglings, giving them an unforgettable first look at the land of Batuu!

Disney has been revealing plans for the future of the park and just announced that at the D23 Expo this fall they will reveal even more. These include new pavilions like the play-themed pavilion and the Guardians of the Galaxy-themed roller coaster.

However, they did make it very clear in a tweet that they absolutely have no plans to get rid of  The Land Pavilion or The Seas with Finding Nemo!

Schmoozies! is a Quick Service location in Hollywood Land offering some of the best snacks at Disney Califonia Adventure Park. Seasonally changing treats plus delish smoothies and epic coffee choices make this one of our favorite stops.

New Lemon Blueberry Magic AKA Donald Duck Butt Cronut in Disneyland

The New Lemon Blueberry Magic AKA Donald Duck Butt Cronut is filled with lemon blueberry jelly, which offers a great balance of sweetness and tartness. It is HUGE and can be shared between two people for sure. The cronut is flaky, and light just like you’d want from the donut hybrid. It’s topped with whipped topping to mimic Donald after he has been shot into the wall during Mickey’s Philharmagic. Totally adorable!  The Sorcerer Hat is white chocolate

Corn Dog Nuggets Are Back at Casey’s Corner

Corn Dog Nuggets Are Back at Casey’s Corner

Corn Dog Nuggets Are Back at Casey’s Corner

Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has put their corn dog nuggets back on their menu!

After much crowd feedback, the original beef corn dog nuggets have returned. The crowd goes wild! Frequent park goers and other snack fans will remember not long ago, a change was made to the classic dog in the nuggets and we were left with chicken instead of the all-beef dog. It seems like due to the popular demand, the all-beef dog remains the top choice for snack fans. Even though Casey’s Corner has a different hot dog every month, it looks as if the classic corn dog nuggets are here to stay for now.

To get your hands on the $8.99 corn dog nuggets meal with apples or with fries, head on over to Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A. If you love corn dog nuggets, but also want to try something new, try their limited time offerings. Currently, they have Casey’s All-Beef Classic Hot Diggity Dog and Casey’s Classic Loaded fries. If chicken and beef are not your thing, Casey’s now has a Plant-Based Dog either with loaded slaw or plain. Then you can wash it all down with a Frozen Mint Julep Lemonade. Then, later in the evening, come back for round two of the corn dog nuggets just in time for the Happily Ever After fireworks show! Sounds like a winning combination, to us!

What’s your favorite snack to get at Casey’s Corner? Let us know in the comments!

A Guide to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Galaxy's Edge Disability

A Guide to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

As one of the most talked about attractions coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge it’s no wonder fans want to know more about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.  The new ride combines immersive storytelling with interactive game play which allows guest to become protagonists of their own Star Wars adventures.

As the most famous of all of the Star Wars star ships, this vessel is often called a “piece of junk” or “bucket of bolts”, but the ship built in the land is far from that!  Guests who are 38 inches or taller can climb aboard the Millennium Falcon after Chewbacca brought the Falcon to the Black Spire Outpost for repairs where he loans the Falcon to Hondo Ohnaka in exchange for replacement parts.  As a result, a smuggler is now making good use of the ship with your help.

Hondo Ohnaka is a business owner of a business called Ohnaka Transport Solutions.  Guests meet Hondo in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run where he needs extra flight crews to make a few runs for him.  Hondo is looking for a crew that won’t ask too many questions about the cargo or how he acquired it.

If you accept your quest you then enter the Falcon via an access hatch on the ship’s starboard airlock.  Once aboard, guests spend time in the main hold and lounge where they can explore the equipment in the room or sit at the famous Dejarik (chess) table.

A Guide to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Your mission is about to begin!  Strap your crew of six into the Falcon cockpit where you are assigned one of three critical roles to complete the mission.  Guests are assigned the role of Pilot (2) where two guests work together to steer the ship, Gunners (2) who use blasters and missiles to defend the Falcon and its precious cargo, or Flight Engineer (2) who keep the Falcon from falling apart on the mission by managing the ship’s systems, repairing damage and taking control of the “special modifications” Hondo installed.

Pilots! start up the Falcon and make the jump to light speed to start your mission!  While on your mission be ready to listen for Hondo Ohnaka and Chewbacca as they help guide you along on your mission.  At the end of the mission, Hondo will inform guests on how well they accomplished their objectives.  Good luck aboard the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run during your mission!
