Doctor Strange Sequel Set to Begin Filming January 2020

Doctor Strange Sequel Set to Begin Filming January 2020

Doctor Strange Sequel Set to Begin Filming January 2020. According to DiscussingFilm, the Doctor Strange sequel will begin filming in the United Kingdom in January 2020.

This theory does line up with recent comments from Doctor Strange and Avengers: Endgame Actor, Benedict Wong (Wong).

While appearing at Denver Pop Culture Con, Wong responded to a question about the long awaited sequel to Doctor Strange and hinted that filming could begin “some time next year.”

“I know they’ve now got a writer on board who I met at the Endgame premiere.” Wong explained. “So I think that may be happening some time next year.”

Since the premiere of Doctor Strange in 2016, Marvel has not hesitated to say that the film will get a proper sequel, but that it would take a little more time since the set up for Infinity War and Endgame were the primary focuses of the Studio at the time.

Doctor Strange Sequel Set to Begin Filming January 2020

“Sometimes, it’s where do those characters pop up?” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said of Doctor Strange in an interview last year. “[Doctor] Strange, you know, whenever we do another Strange [movie], which we will do, it will be a number of years from the first Strange, and yet he’s a very big part of Infinity War. So it is just a good problem to have when you have too many beloved characters that people want to see more of, whilst keeping to our core belief that we need to keep exploring nuance and keep doing different types of things.”

If only we had control of the time stone to make it happen a little faster, but good things come to those who wait.

Since the announcement of a sequel, fans have been speculating on the potential storyline, with a heavy sense that Baron Mordo will appear again, this time as a multi-dimensional villain.

Doctor Strange Sequel Set to Begin Filming January 2020

“For those of you who have ever read the comics, you know that Baron Mordo has a very particular arc, and that’s something we discussed with Chiwetel [Mordo] while working on the first movie,” C. Robert Cargill said in an interview with Movie Web. “And part of the reason Chiwetel wanted to play Mordo was because he has a definitive ending as a character and it’s such a fascinating ending. And I do know that whether we’re attached or not, that Marvel plans on working towards that ending and fully realizing Mordo as more than just a cardboard cutout villain, but actually taking him to kind of Loki levels of awesomeness. That’s the goal with him.”

Cargill also went on in that interview to say the character, Nightmare, will be the primary villain in ‘Doctor Strange 2.

“Marvel movies work in threes. They also work outside of their threes. Some of the better Marvel films have more than one villain in them,” Cargill said to Movie Web. “Me and Scott have not laid the groundwork for it, but what I can say is that I have a feeling that whatever Nightmare is involved with, Baron Mordo, being somebody who considers himself the defender of natural law will have something to do with it.”

We are stoked to see Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), and Chitwetel Ejiofor (Mordo) return to the big screen in what is sure to be a spectacular combination of breath-taking imagery and compelling storytelling from Marvel Studios.

More New Photos of the Moat Construction at the Magic Kingdom

More New Photos of the Moat Construction at the Magic Kingdom

We have more new photos to share of the moat construction at the Magic Kingdom.

Previously, we have reported that there is currently construction happening near Cinderella Castle, which required the moat to be drained.

As you can tell from the picture above, the pathway from Liberty Square to Fantasyland is also closed.

The walkway from Liberty Square and Fantasyland is being expanded around the Castle. Once completed, the path will be wider for guests, making it easier to navigate the park. This will surely be a welcome addition, especially at more crowded times or even for those looking to “rope drop”.

Progress is moving right along and I know I am very excited to see the finished product! Are you excited for this change?

Costume Policy Stays In Effect for Galaxy’s Edge

Costume Policy Stays In Effect for Galaxy's Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge invites guests to roleplay as allies with the Resistance, First Order, or as a smuggler from a galaxy far, far away. Keep in mind, the costume policy will stay in effect!

Although we all want to join in on the fun, the park requests that the current costume policy stays in effect. The current policy states that guests “14 years of age or older” may not wear costumes, especially if they are too similar to the characters in the park.

Most speculate that the reason for the costume policy is primarily to prevent ill-intentioned guests from giving a false idea of Disney and/or its characters. This rule is also for guest safety and protection.

Some are finding this rule especially frustrating because official costumes are being sold inside Galaxy’s Edge. Although you might want to walk around in your Luke Skywalker getup ($200 custom lightsaber in tow), you will have to wait until you exit Disneyland Park.

I expect to see a lot more Disneybounding tips and tricks in the coming months to combat this issue.

Heroes and Villains Exhibit Coming to D23 Expo 2019

Heroes and Villains Exhibit Coming to D23 Expo 2019

The D23 Expo is coming this August and this year they are celebrating heroes and villains with a spectacular new exhibit.

The Walt Disney Archives returns to D23 Expo with an all-new exhibit, “Walt Disney Archives Presents Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume.” From the classic Mary Poppins to this year’s live-action retelling of Aladdin, more than 70 costumes from 55 years of Disney movies and television shows will be on display from August 23–25 at the Anaheim Convention Center during the biennial event, presented by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.

Guests entering the 12,000-square-foot exhibit will be greeted by “Cinderella’s Workshop,” a gallery featuring the beloved fairy-tale character’s dresses from her numerous Disney incarnations, including 1997’s Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella; the gown worn by Scarlett Johansson for Annie Leibovitz’s 2007 Disney Dream Portrait series; 2014’s Into the Woods; the 2015 live-action reimagining of the animated masterpiece Cinderella; and the ABC hit series Once Upon a Time.

The main gallery will be broken into three sections: “Disney Heroes,” “Disney Villains,” and “Spaces Between,” reserved for the antiheroes whose fascinating journeys make them among Disney’s most complex characters.

Among the costumes included in the “Disney Heroes” section are Belle’s village dress and ballgown from 2017’s Beauty and the Beast; creations worn by the Genie, Aladdin, and Jasmine in this year’s live-action Aladdin; and—for the first time ever displayed together—three iconic Mary Poppins “traveling dresses” worn in three Poppins productions: the 1964 original film, 2019’s Mary Poppins Returns, and the Broadway musical. “Disney Villains” ensembles include the trio of wonderfully wicked witches from 1993’s Hocus Pocus, the duo of dresses worn by the stepsisters in 2015’s Cinderella, and the dress worn by the incomparable Bette Davis in 1978’s Return from Witch Mountain. And “Spaces Between” includes Maleficent’s gown from the 2014 film, as well as the Evil Queen and Hook’s costumes from Once Upon a Time.

The exhibit includes costumes from some of Hollywood’s preeminent designers, past and present, including Academy Award®-winners Colleen Atwood, Sandy Powell, and Tony Walton, as well as Emmy® winner Ellen Mirojnick and Emmy nominees Eduardo Castro and Penny Rose.

Many of the costumes on exhibit will be featured in The Art of Disney Costuming: Heroes, Villains, and Spaces Between, a dazzling new book out this September from Disney Editions. The book will also be available in advance exclusively at D23 Expo.

Single-day tickets for Friday and Sunday of D23 Expo 2019 are available for $89 for one-day adult admission and $69 for children 3–9. Gold Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club can purchase tickets for $77 for a one-day adult admission and $59 for children 3–9. Single-day Saturday tickets and three-day passes are sold out. For more information on tickets and D23 Expo 2019, visit D23Expo.com.

Electric Vehicle Parking At Hollywood Studios

Electric Vehicle Parking At Hollywood Studios

We spotted electric vehicle parking at Hollywood Studios finally! Hollywood Studios is the final park to receive these parking spots. The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal kingdom, and Disney Springs have already had them for a little while. It’s exciting to see that the changes to the parking lot finally brought these spots to Hollywood Studios. The surrounding area was still under additional renovations. Temporary orange fences were nearby as well as new plants. Luckily the chargers are in working order as of now!

ChargePoint operates the charging stations. In order to use these, you will either need a ChargePoint card or the app on a smartphone. It’s really simple to use these chargers. Either tap the card or the phone to the reader and it will unlock a charging cable. Take the charging cable and connect it to your electric vehicle. Depending on the electric vehicle you may need an adaptor to properly connect the cable. Tesla’s specifically will need the adaptor port. What is nice about ChargePoint is on their app you can actually check to see if there are charging stations available before getting to the parks or Disney Springs.

Electric Vehicle Parking At Hollywood Studios

While using the charging stations, there will be a fee. That fee depends on how long you are charging as well as how fast you are charging. In some cars, the amp levels can be lowered to draw in less electricity. If this is done, the cost will be minimum while staying at the parks. We did notice that after leaving Hollywood Studios there was not a charge. Most likely this was a glitch since the machines are still new to the system. It was a much-appreciated glitch though!

Electric Vehicle Parking At Hollywood Studios

The big perk of having an electric vehicle with these spots is the proximity to the main entrance! At all of the parks, the electric vehicle spots are just about as close as you can get to the front. This is really helpful for those that may need handicap parking with an electric vehicle. Overall, electric vehicle parking at Hollywood Studios was much needed and very exciting!
