Pumpkin Spice Beignet Sundae is a Real Fall Treat

pumpkin spice beignet sundae

Even if it doesn’t feel like fall outside at least you can taste fall.  Pumpkin spice treats are popping up all over Disney World.  This is a twist on a crowd favorite, Mickey beignets.  You have the option to buy the pumpkin spice beignets by themselves or you can indulge in this delicious dessert.  The sundae is three pumpkin spice beignets topped with one scoop of ice cream, cranberry compote, whipped cream and fall sprinkles.  The cast member did ask if I wanted something other than vanilla so it seems you do have your choice of ice cream.  This was my first pumpkin spice treat of the season and the pumpkin spice flavor seemed to be more in the sugary topping than the beignet itself.

Pumpkin Spice Beignet Sundae is a Real Fall Treat

The beignets are usually made fresh, so the ice cream melts slowly into the beignets.  The cranberry flavor is just the perfect accent to the pumpkin spice.  And who doesn’t love a little fall decor, like sprinkles?

Pumpkin Spice Beignet Sundae is a Real Fall Treat

The beignets are only found in one place on Walt Disney World Property, Port Orleans French Quarter.  Look for the quick service Sassagoula Floatworks and Factory.  The sundae is $6.79 before tax.

Is Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way Worth The Additional Price During MNSSHP?

Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way

When Cruella de Vil isn’t trying to collect puppies and be a Disney villain she’s busy hosting a new dinner at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This fun new add on to the ticketed event is called Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way. This all you can eat and drink party is located at Tony’s Town Square inside the Magic Kingdom. Does this sound familiar? If it does you’re not wrong, this is the new Halloween take on the Christmas party version with Tony himself. Let’s dig into this fur-tastic party a little more.

Is Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way Worth The Additional Price During MNSSHP?

Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way is a separately ticketed dining event on top of your already purchased MNSSHP ticket. You must purchase a party ticket to be able to attend. The price of Cruella’s is $99 per person plus tax. While any character dining may come with a hefty price this one brings questions if it’s worth it due to the fact it takes up precious party time. This event is from 9:30-12:30 so you get an extra half hour after the party ends. You also can come and go as you please once checked it. You are given a wrist band for easy reentry.

Is Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way Worth The Additional Price During MNSSHP?

With Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way you also get special terrace viewing of the second Boo To You Parade. One valuable tip I found was to go ahead and watch the first parade with the party crowd. That usually goes against the rule of party parades but if you’re paying for this dining experience I recommend it. During the second parade Cruella’s party was empty and I had the place (and fun moments with Cruella) all to myself. No lines for food, photos, or drinks.

The center of the party is filled with cheeses and light eats and there’s also a spot set up for hot food. There’s pizza and ravioli which was nice and fresh even at 11 pm when I managed to eat. In a separate room there’s a bar area and dessert table.

The desserts at Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way were themed and not only delicious but adorable. The Kanine Krunchies were probably my favorite. Plus it’s all you can eat and drink the entire time.

So is this addition price worth the experience? It’s really hard to say per individual. Before going I would have said no. Now that I’ve been and really enjoyed it I would do it again. It is hard to get everything done in one MNSSHP though. While I enjoyed my time at Cruella’s there was a lot I missed out on during the party. Even if you don’t plan on this dining event it’s hard to catch everything at one single party. If you are a fan of character meals and interaction or maybe want a different scene then the trick or treating this maybe for you. It’s definitely a fun and unique experience and I thank Disney for giving us the opportunity to check this out.

You can check for tickets to Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way here or by calling  (407) 939-5277. Remember you must purchase tickets to both Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Cruella’s for this dining event.

More Food and Wine Booths Added to Epcot’s Festival

More Food and Wine Booths Added to Epcot's Festival

In case you missed it, we recently revealed the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine booths that will be available throughout the festival. The festival will be the longest-running festival for Food and Wine starting on August 29th and lasting through November 23rd!

Well, guess what! Now we can reveal two MORE booths that will make their debut as a Food and Wine Booth this year.  Debuting October 1, 2019, guests can enjoy eats from The Donut Box and Cool Wash.

Disney chefs have jumped even further onto the donut craze bandwagon by producing irresistible donut sensations!  Guests can visit the Donut Box to pick up crazy donut concoctions, such as the Black and White Coffee Cocktail garnished with a fresh yeast donut sprinkled with chocolate espresso bean crumbles!  Sounds delicious right?!

In addition, the Donut box will be serving up donut holes that are strawberry-dusted or for something a little different, a sweet corn fritter with Fresno and red pepper jelly.  Wash down your delicious treats with a Strawberry smoothie made with Blue Diamond Breeze Almondmilk or an exclusive festival beer called Boston Creme Donut Ale! Sounds like there might be something for everyone here!

Once you are done at the Donut Box, or you just need a new and exciting refreshing drink, head over to Cool Wash to create your own unique frozen beverages!  Guests can create drinks at this Food and Wine booth using slushy flavors ranging from Blue Raspberry to Orange Cream. Then, go crazy with mix-ins: Swedish Fish, Jelly Drops, Boba Pearls or even Pop Rocks! Sounds like all ages will be acting like a kid in a candy store at this amazing stop!

We can’t wait to try all of this year’s food booths!  Which booth are you most excited to try? I have so many on my list!

Not so Mini Minnie Milk Shake Hits Magic Kingdom

minnie mouse shake strawberry

After hitting it out of the park with the Chocolate Extreme Shake, the Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom has gone extreme again with the Minnie Milk Shake.  As you can tell, there is absolutely nothing mini about it.  This is a strawberry shake with lots of delicous toppings.  These include a strawberry glazed doughnut, chocolate cookie ears (Oreos), a chocolate bow and a strawberry cone. We also couldn’t resist trying some of those crispy pearls on the side.

Not so Mini Minnie Milk Shake Hits Magic Kingdom

My favorite part was probably the shake itself but we had fun dissecting the shake piece by piece.  Don’t be afraid to ask for a plate and lots of napkins. My son’s favorite part was the strawberry glazed doughnut.  It is definitely extreme and shareable!   As to which one is better, that completely depends on your taste preference.

Not so Mini Minnie Milk Shake Hits Magic Kingdom

Don’t forget you need to book reservations for the Plaza Restaurant if you’d like to enjoy either of these treats.  Both shakes cost $14 and Annual Pass discounts are accepted.  Which one will you dare to try?

Hong Kong Protestors Boycotting ‘Mulan’ After Star Shows Support for Chinese Government

Hong Kong Protestors Boycotting 'Mulan' After Star Shows Support for Chinese Government

Hong Kong Protestors Boycotting ‘Mulan‘ After Star Shows Support for Chinese Government. Citizens of China have been gathering in Hong Kong for weeks to protest a new controversial bill.

Yahoo Entertainment summarized the bill with this description: “For the past two months, protests have stormed Hong Kong over an extradition bill that would send alleged criminals to China to stand trial. Since 1997, Hong Kong and China have co-existed as ‘one country, two systems,’ and will remain so until 2047, per the colonial British deal. If the bill passes, contextualizes the Guardian, there is potential for Chinese courts to rule with bias.”

Disney’s new live-action remake of Mulan stars Liu Yifei, a Chinese actress, who showed her support for the Hong Kong police on the microblogging site Weibo. Liu posted in Chinese, “I support the Hong Kong police; you can beat me up now” and “What a shame for Hong Kong” below the image in English.

This outspoken statement has divided her fans online causing a storm of conflict in the comments sections with many unsavory things being exchanged between Beijing supporters and Hong-Kong supporters. So much debate has sparked online the hashtag, #BoycottMulan has started to circulate online and is gaining support from protestor sympathizers.

Hong Kong Protestors Boycotting 'Mulan' After Star Shows Support for Chinese Government

Many fans worldwide are starting to include their input on the matter and saying how “easy” it is for Yifei to support the Chinese Government since she is a naturalized U.S. Citizen and is not at the forefront of the confrontation. Many fans are stunned that an actress portraying a character who’s whole story revolves around breaking stereotypes and fighting oppression could be in support of a government that is mistreating its citizens so publicly.

Despite the Mulan boycott, the film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 27, 2020.

The Proud Family‘ is Coming to Disney+ and with All-New Episodes! According to one of the shows main voice actors, Tommy Davidson, The Proud Family will not only be available for streaming on Disney+ but will also be getting all-new episodes.

'The Proud Family' is Coming to Disney+ and with All-New Episodes!

“I forgot to tell you that, The Proud Family is coming back. Proud Family’s coming back,” Davidson, who voiced Proud family father, Oscar, told Where Is the Buzz at the carpet premiere of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. “It’s on one of Disney’s streaming [services]. Yeah, Proud Family’s coming back. They told me not to tell you. New episodes.”

https://twitter.com/whereisbuzzzzzz/status/1161487896286846976?s=21

The original series ran for 52 episodes between 2001-2005 on Disney Channel, and was the first cartoon to feature an African-American family. The Proud Family was also the first animated series to premiere on Disney Channel. Most shows at the time would first premiere on ABC to see how audiences responded to new content before they were given a formal Disney logo and switched to Disney Channel.

'The Proud Family' is Coming to Disney+ and with All-New Episodes!

Disney+ will include other animated originals such as: CG-animated Monsters at Work (spinoff of Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.), Toy Story 4 spinoff short series Forky Asks a Question, the Pixar-produced SparkShorts, Marvel Studios What If…? series and a revival of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Another Disney Channel based franchise, High School Musical, finds new life on the streaming service in the live-action High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which follows the next generation of East High Wildcats as they put on their own production of  High School Musical.

'The Proud Family' is Coming to Disney+ and with All-New Episodes!

There is no word yet if the rest of the original cast will reprise their roles for the rebooted series on Disney+ and Disney has not shared details on a date for the release of The Proud Family on Disney+ at this time, but we will be sure to update you as new details emerge. Disney+ launches November 12, 2019 for $6.99/month.
