Orlando International Airport will continue with operations on Monday, September 2nd

After being reported yesterday that the Orlando International Airport will be closed on Monday, September 2nd due to Hurricane Dorian it seems they have reversed their decision.

They sent out this tweet last night:

Orlando International Airport will continue with operations on Monday, September 2.

Hurricane Dorian has recently been upgraded to a category 5 with winds of 150 mph.

The track of the hurricane no longer looks to be heading right into the state of Florida but clipping the coastline and working north.

We will continue to monitor any changes at the Orlando International Airport as we know many people who are coming and going to Walt Disney World are as well.

Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival has begun and there are many special events that you can participate in including, seminars, tastings and signing events. There will be great discount offers to take advantage of as well. As always these special events are subject to be changed or modified. These events make your art or figure purchases for example, even more special. You have this unique chance to meet the artists, hear their inspiration, and get to have them sign your selections. Making it something to cherish for years to come. Having taken advantage of these events many times myself, nothing beat being able to bring my mother-in-law (an avid collector) to one of the Precious Moments Signing. We had her pick out her doll, meet the Artist and have her doll signed! She even got a picture with the Artist and her doll. It was the highlight of her trip!

Disney Rumored to be Eyeing Benedict Cumberbatch for Hades in Live-Action ‘Hercules’

Disney Rumored to be Eyeing Benedict Cumberbatch for Hades in Live-Action ‘Hercules‘. I don’t think even Doctor Strange himself saw this coming with the Eye of Agamotto! According to a source close to WeGotThisCovered.com, Disney is not only making plans for a live-action Hercules, but has already started compiling a casting wish list.

Already rumored to be looking at Alexander Skarsgard to play the mighty Hercules, Disney seems to also be interested in Benedict Cumberbatch to play his nemesis, Hades. It is currently unknown if Disney has approached Cumberbatch about the role, but if they have, it is being kept deep under wraps.

Cumberbatch is not the only star they are eyeing for the role, but it seems the House of Mouse is very interested in seeing Benedict’s talent move from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and join the Disney Universe in the live-action remake. Rumors began swirling a little over a month ago that both Benedict Cumberbatch and Trevor Donovan were on Disney’s wish list to portray the Lord of the Underworld, with Donovan sharing that he is secretly up for the role, but “isn’t supposed to say anything.”

The cat may be out of the bag on this one, but until the role of Hercules is cast, it is likely Disney will wait to cast any of the supporting roles. There is no word yet who may play characters such as Megara (Meg), Phil, Pain, Panic, The Muses, or Zeus and Hera.

New Disney Character Buses Spotted, Dumbo And Guardians Of The Galaxy!

Remember those fabulous Disney buses featuring Mickey and the gang? Well now there are even more Disney Character Buses being spotted! Rocket & Groot and Dumbo have been spotted rolling around the Walt Disney Property!

The Guardians of the Galaxy bus has a bright spacy splash, with stars and galactic swirls. Rocket and Groot stand out fiercely against the starry pink and purple background as they blast you off on your adventures around Walt Disney World.

Our beloved pal Dumbo is ready to fly us off to our next Disney Park destination too! This bus design showcases a gorgeous image of Dumbo sailing in the sky over the big top circus!

We have also heard that there is a Lion King bus roaming around property, we hope to spot that one in the wild soon!

The new Disney Character Buses are a fabulous bit of magic to add an extra touch of pixie dust to your vacation at Walt Disney World. You’ll never know which bus will whisk you away to your destination! Will it be the red trimmed classic we all know and love, or a fun new character design?

Winnie the Pooh Delighted Pass-holders At Epcot

Winnie the Pooh says, “You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” And that he did. On August 29th for a special pass-holder perk he ventured from his usual spot in the Hundred Acre Woods at Magic Kingdom. He made his way over to Epcot to the United Kingdom’s Pavilion, where behind The Toy Soldier Shop is Christoper Robin’s Room. His room was out of the story book pages. So quaint and precious with all his little toy soldiers, trucks and hanging airplane, as well as pictures and his view out his bay window was just like the illustrations of the beloved books.

It was a special day, as it was also the start of the Annual Food and Wine Festival, so maybe he wanted to come to eat too, but for this one day only visit he treated the pass holders to a special meet and greet. Chip and Company was there, and let me tell you he was as sweet as honey!

I was lucky enough to catch him soon before he returned home. There was no line at all to meet him it was a private greeting in that sense. I felt like a V.I.P. I was able to have plenty of time visiting with him. We even fluffed pillows and gazed out the window together. I even returned with my son who was able to meet him for the first time and he fell in love with him. Silly ol’ Pooh Bear even got down on his level and played peekaboo with him. This meet and greet was something special. One I will never forget.

It’s one of those things I love about being a pass holder. You never know when special perks like this may pop up and add just that little extra touch of Disney Magic. This day there was also a special pop up meet and greet at Animal Kingdom too with Baloo, and the elusive Tarzan, and Jane. What a treat!

Disney World is monitoring Hurricane Dorian for potential closures

With Hurricane Dorian’s path heading closer to Florida and the closure of the Orlando Airport for Monday, Disney World is closely monitoring the path of the projected weather before announcing any closures.

As always Disney’s #1 concern is their guests and cast members!

They are taking precautions including canceling weekend sporting events and closing Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park on Sunday. They are also prepared to contact guests as necessary with current and upcoming reservations at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to plan for anticipated weather impacts.

So if you are staying at Disney World this weekend I would make sure to check the My Disney Experience App or check in with your hotel for updated information.

One of my favorite parts of this book, in addition to of course all of the fantastic ideas, was the Disney Fun Facts! As you flip through the exquisite photographs you’ll notice a pair of Mickey ears that will tell you delightful fun facts about Disney, including a few I didn’t even know!

The featured event on the cover of the book is “The Little Mermaid Bridal Shower Brunch”. It instantly blew me away, and almost made me jealous that I’m already married. This party plan takes the magic and wonder of Ariel, and turns it into a pastel party perfect for any soon to be married princess.

Orlando Airport closing for Hurricane Dorian

The Orlando Airport will be closed on Monday, September 2nd at 2 am in preparation for Hurricane Dorian.

They issued this statement on their twitter yesterday.

We all saw the expansion of the Magic Kingdom walkway. We all also disliked the expansion at first, but now that it is open, I think it is safe to say we all love the expansion and it was much needed!

The shortcut between Liberty Square and Fantasyland has officially opened, quietly, on August 24, 2019, and has already proven to most guests that the expansion was needed. In fact, this expansion should help with times when the castle area is severely congested due to the parades and stage shows.

As you can see the walkway is already being used by many.

Unfortunately, the moat still contains construction equipment and the water is still drained. No word on when the water will return.

Walt Disney World Epcot World Showcase Path Widening

Epcot World Showcase path widening has been completed! The path between Epcot’s Future World and Epcot’s World Showcase was previously closed. This was in order to make the pathway wider to improve the guest flow between the two parts of Epcot. Reopening just in time for Epcot’s 2019 Food and Wine Festival which takes place all around the World Showcase!
