Many critics were shocked to find Frozen II was even better than the original, some in more specific categories, but various elements seem to be up to par with Frozen. Several reviewers went so far as to say the music, one of the key elements, surpasses the catchiness of the first film and thinks Disney fans will be singing these new songs for years to come.

A common theme among the reviews online is the expression that the sequel is darker than the original, but how does Disney go darker than losing family members tragically then having someone pose as someones true love to gain control of a kingdom and tear what remains of the family apart? Haven’t these girls been through enough? (I guess not…)

This review is the most insightful without outright spoiling the film, but says that Frozen II explores a new kind of villain…

Mickey’s Christmas Tree Popcorn Bucket Shows Up at Animal Kingdom

Mickey's Christmas Tree Popcorn Bucket at Animal Kingdom

The holidays bring many wonderous things into the Disney Parks…one of those things being this magnificent popcorn bucket! It was supposed to be a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive, however, this Christmas tree popcorn bucket has been spotted in Animal Kingdom (DinoLand, U.S.A.) as well as Disney Springs (near the Christmas Tree Trail).

The bucket is $25, but there are only a limited amount outside of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party so grab them while you still can!

From the colorful lights strung around the perfectly “trimmed” Evergreen to Mickey sporting a festive Santa hat, can a popcorn bucket get any more magical? The tree even lights up!

I think this will be a great addition to the perfect Disney Christmas collection, especially with the other popcorn buckets and sippers that are coming out!

But what happens if they sell out before you can grab one? Well, I guess you will have the perfect excuse to go to a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party then!

I am also really loving the special ornament for this year’s party. It is no longer just a flat ceramic style like we have seen in the past. Instead it is a beautiful round red bulb, complete with Mickey and a Christmas tree on top.

As always we have an exclusive MagicBand to celebrate the party with!

The theme this year is definitely a cozy one, so I love that they have a special Christmas light shaped hot chocolate mug offering! The mug is available for $24.99.

The Alex and Ani is also gorgeous this year, is a shiny colored enamel charm on a gold bangle. I love that they gave the charm an oval shape, because it kind of gives it a Christmas bulb look!

Annual Passholders have a few nice treats this year! Passholders can commemorate their party experience with a t-shirt, phone case or pin that is just for them!

What are your favorite treats from this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Merchandise collection?

Disney+ Bundle Deal For Disney Cast Members Revealed

Disney+ Bundle Deal For Disney Cast Members Revealed

Disney+ Bundle Deal For Disney Cast Members Revealed. Jayne Parker, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer announced the news today via Disney’s Cast Member Only site referred to as “The Hub”. Here is Parker’s statement released to Cast Members as of today:

“Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Jayne Parker announced today that Disney employees will soon be able to customize how they experience the Disney magic.
Beginning in January 2020, eligible full-time and part-time employees will have the ability to select annually either the Disney Parks Main Entrance Pass or the Disney+ bundle, which includes Disney+, ESPN+, and ad-supported Hulu. Having this new option allows employees to choose the Disney experience they most value and what works best for them.
No matter which option is selected, eligible employees will continue to receive complimentary park tickets each year, and self-admission to U.S. theme parks will still be available.”

Disney+ Bundle Deal For Disney Cast Members Revealed

Let’s break this down real quick before the uproar:

In January 2020, Full Time and Part Time Cast Members will have the opportunity to surrender their guest passes that usually come with their self admission maingates. They can still use their self admission, but if they choose the Disney+ Bundle they will not get those guest passes that year. They are still eligible to receive complimentary tickets, usually presented at the holidays.

If you are not a Full Time or Part Time Cast Member, i.e. a participant in the Disney Internships and Programs, Seasonal Cast Member, or Contractor, you will NOT be eligible to receive this offer.

Cast Members, please be aware: The Disney Bundle ( Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu) is valued at approximately $156 USD annually. Guest maingates are valued at $507 USD for the equivalent of 3 guests with 1-Day Park Pass with Park Hopper Feature. The $507 value is just for ONE day of usage. Full Time Cast Members have the ability to earn 16 days worth of guest passes, equaling to around $8,112 USD annually in total benefits from having the guest passes. (Just saying)

With that in mind, it does make sense for Cast Members who do not frequent the Disney Parks to take this deal (i.e. Cast Members who work for The Disney Store, Walt Disney Studios, ESPN, ABC, etc), but for Cast Members who work in or close to the Disney Parks this hardly seems like a fair trade, and they can easily keep their maingates and pay for the streaming service or bundle on their own.

Disney is likely waiting to see if Cast Members would prefer other options, especially for those who may not utilize their full benefits, but this does seem like a drastic difference for those who choose to select the Disney+ Bundle over their guest passes.

What do you think of the Disney+ offer for Cast Members? Do you think it’s a fair trade? Or should Disney make a new offer to their hard working Cast Members? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
