Star Wars Movie Box Set To Be Available In 2020

With the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, fans have been able to revere and reminisce of the films that led to the conclusion of an era. For fans of the franchise, they can soon own a special collector’s box set of the films to relieve all of their favorite Star Wars moments for a lifetime.

In early 2019, Disney released a unique box set specifically for the Marvel Cinematic Universe that had 4K and Blu-ray Discs. Disney has yet to confirm a box set for the Skywalker saga. However, Best Buy Canada is showing a special 27 disc set with all 9 movies and most likely a myriad of special features. The set is showing a current retail price of $329.99.

The Best Buy Canada website doesn’t state exact details of what all 27 discs will be other than the 9 films in the saga. They also haven’t set an official release date for the box set or when it will be available in the United States and online.

One thing is for sure, fans are going to want to get their hands on this iconic set. Just from the image alone, it seems like it would fit any Star Wars fan’s collection perfectly!

Universal Studios Orlando Plans to Provide Affordable Housing

According to News Channel 8, Universal Studios Orlando plans to use 20 acres of land to create affordable housing in the Orlando area. This announcement was made just last week. This was right before requesting funds for road construction for Universal to build its third theme park: Epic Universe.

This project will aim to accommodate 1,000 mixed-use housing units. Anyone that lives in the Orlando area knows that affordable living is not easy to come by, so this is much needed.

Universal Studios is also planning on using another three acres for mass transit since the affordable housing would bring in a lot more traffic to the area.

Two New Lightsabers at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

Some exciting news for travelers going to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Two brand new lightsabers have appeared at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. The two new additions are Ben Solo’s lightsaber and the Reforged Skywalker lightsaber. Instead of building your own lightsaber, Dok-Ondar’s shop carries the iconic lightsabers wielded by characters in the Star Wars galaxy. So fans of the movies will enjoy wielding their favorite hero or villain’s lightsaber!

Ben Solo lightsaber is $139.99 and Reforged Skywalker lightsaber $129.99 before tax.

Ben Solo’s Lightsaber

This lightsaber was used by Ben Solo before he shifted to the Dark Side and became Kylo Ren. We saw this lightsaber in The Last Jedi when Ben Solo was still a student at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy.

Reforged Skywalker Lightsaber

Fans will remember that the Skywalker lightsaber was broken in half in The Last Jedi. Rey and Kylo Ren broke it while wrestling for using the Force. But the good news is that it’s been repaired as the Reforged Skywalker lightsaber! We’ve seen glimpses of Rey using it in the trailers for The Rise of Skywalker.

New Disney x adidas Mickey Sneaker Collection Is Coming Soon

It looks like a new Disney x adidas collaboration is on the horizon! Now pictures of new adidas sneakers showcasing Mickey graphics have been leaked online. If you loved the Star Wars adidas line, you won’t want to miss these either.

Three different shoe designs have been spotted online. Each pair has a white leather base, and features True Original graphics. The first shoe style has a design of Mickey dashing across the side in color featured on an adidas Superstar style shoe.

While the other two are a classic Stan Smith shoe style. The image on one is actually the same as the Superstar, but in black and white, and instead of color.

The second Superstar pair also has a classic comicstrip design.

No other details have been released, but we hope to see more of this playful sneaker collection soon!

Disney Helped Make Magic For a WW2 Veteran Who Helped Build Epcot

Disney loves to create happiness and spread some magic for people and that’s exactly what they did for Stephen Nemeth, a World War II Navy Veteran who helped build Epcot back in the day.

Stephen got the surprise of his lifetime when he was invited by the Epcot Operations team for a backstage tour at Epcot where he was able to see his work that continues to delight guests today.

He helped defend merchant ships from German U-boats in the Atlantic Ocean during the war and is also a retired pipefitter who helped build Epcot as part of the construction team.

Some of his work included the Audio-Animatronics inside Spaceship Earth like Michelangelo, the chickens in The Land and Frederick Douglas in The American Adventure! During the tour he shared some stories about his work and said “I enjoyed working here…this was the best job ever, to me this is my place.”

But the tour was not all, the “SALUTE” Business Employee Resource Group gave him a plaque with a work wrench to thank him for his contribution to the park and a challenge coin thanking him for his service to this country.

However, the best surprise of all was from the Marina cast at Epcot, they named one of their workboats after him as a tribute to the many contributions he has made to Disney and the United States of America. This was an emotional moment for him and his family for sure.

Special Cruise Line Treats Not to be Missed for the Holidays

We have reported a lot on all of the festivities around Walt Disney World and Disneyland, but what about the Disney Cruise Line?! Take a look at the special cruise line treats onboard the participating Very Merrytime Cruises.

First up, this one is for the chocolate lovers! A dark chocolate brownie dipped in chocolate is decorated with gold and silver snowflakes, blue sprinkles and a red chocolate drizzle.

This next special cruise line treat will make your mouth water. These marshmallows on a stick are dipped in chocolate with festive sprinkles and multi-colored chocolate drizzle.

Even the cruise line is getting into the Gingerbread spirit, because what’s a holiday dessert collection without a classic gingerbread cookie? The gingerbread Mickey-shaped cookie is dipped in chocolate with colorful chocolate drizzle and sprinkles on the ears. Sound delicious!

Instagramers get your cameras ready! The free-standing Christmas tree decorated with holiday sprinkles, resting on a Reese’s Cup trunk and featuring a classic gold star on top will surely make your Instagram followers go nuts!

Lastly, this ode to jolly ole Saint Nick is a chocolate and ginger-flavored cupcake with chocolate frosting. Topped with snowflake sprinkles and an edible chocolate Santa, this is sure to be a guest favorite this holiday season!

Disney Beats Out Sporting Events in Attendance

Disney Parks, all 14 locations across the globe, bring in a lot of guests! Turns out, the attendance across these parks is even higher than the most popular sporting events.

News research has concluded that during 2018, Disney Parks had an approximate total of 157.3 million visitors which was much higher than MLB’s 69.6 million total. In fact, Disney had higher attendance than MLB, NBA, and NFL combined!

Of course, it does help to create traffic within the parks with all of the exciting new attractions coming soon as well as the recent opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge earlier this year. The parks have plenty to offer, which is apparent when looking at the numbers!

Disney On Broadway Comes Back To Epcot Next Month!

Enjoy the magic of Disney on Broadway at Epcot!

The celebration of art, entertainment and food is back with the 2020 Festival of the Arts! And the best part is it brought back the Disney on Broadway Concert Series!

From January 17 through February 24, 2020 you will be able to sing along to your favorite Disney songs headlined by Broadway stars like Heidi Blickenstaff, Gavin Lee, Alton Fitzgerald White and Kissy Simmons.

The Disney on Broadway Concert Series will start the season with “The Lion King,” a musical that is without a doubt a fan favorite for sure!

Hyperspace Mountain Overlay being removed to make way for Classic Space Mountain

Disneyland’s Hyperspace Mountain will be closing on on January 7th, 2020 for a one-day refurbishment so the Classic Space Mountain can be restored.

This limited-time Star Wars overlay has been going strong for some time now and according to the OC Register, this fan-favorite overlay is being retired for now.

I had the pleasure of riding it many times and it is easily one of my favorite overlays.

New Wookiee Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There has been an awakening in the Force…and our appetites…because a new Star Wars inspired treat has appeared! The Wookiee Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich is a new treat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re looking for ways to celebrate the new Star Wars movie, then you should consider this delightful cookie sandwich!

The brand new dessert consist of two oatmeal cookies with marshmallow fluff in the middle and a chocolate piece on top. The chocolate piece is designed as Chewbacca’s signature bandolier. This new treat is fit for any Wookiee-sized appetite! The choice of oatmeal cookies is fitting for being a Wookiee themed dessert. The pairing of oatmeal cookies and marshmallow fluff is a great combination. The cookies are chewy (no pun intended for Chewbacca) and packed with nutty flavor. The marshmallow fluff is also nice because it’s sweet and adds a nice cream layer to enjoy when you savor each cookie bite. However, the chocolate piece is mostly for decoration since it’s a thin chocolate topping piece.

You can find this Wookiee treat at the Backlot Express inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s currently available for sale at $5.99 plus tax. You can grab this new treat after riding Star Tours, which now offers new planets and scenes featured in “The Rise of Skywalker.”
