The cruise industry has not sailed in the U.S. in over a year but it looks like cruises will be resuming soon! Carnival Cruise Line has announced sailings will resume out of Miami and Galveston this July. The CDC has also approved sailings to resume from Port Canaveral and Carnival should announce those sailings soon.

“This is the exciting news that we have been waiting for,” stated Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO. “A tremendous amount of cooperative went into these agreements as we worked closely with our partner Carnival Cruise Line. This is a monumental step to getting the cruise industry up and running once again.”

Carnival Cruise Line receives approval to resume cruising from Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral is one of three homeports for Carnival Cruise Line. The CDC currently requires cruise lines to have public safety agreements with their homeports before the implementation of simulated cruises.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line could also be resuming regular cruises soon. The cruise line will begin test sailings this month and might have regular sailings in July! July sailings were spotted on the Miami Dade County cruise ship schedule. Cruises listed start July 2, 2021 sailing on Freedom of the Seas. The Royal Caribbean website also shows dates in July available to book.

Royal Caribbean has also not cancelled its July sailings as of now. We are hopeful that this means passengers will get to sail again soon!

Johnny Depp Could Sue the ACLU for Defamation over Amber Heard’s Washington Post Op-Ed

Johnny Depp Could Sue the ACLU for Defamation over Amber Heard's Washington Post Op-Ed

Johnny Depp Could Sue the ACLU for Defamation over Amber Heard’s Washington Post Op-Ed. Back in 2018 and during the explosive news of major legal battles between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, the Washington Post hosted an Op-Ed article that was written in part by Amber Heard and “the assistance and advice of others.” The piece was titled: Opinion: Amber Heard: I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.

Fast-forward to 2021 and it has been revealed that emails and documents exchanged between Amber Heard, her representatives, and the non-profit organization American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) allegedly reveal that members at ACLU were responsible for coming up with the idea for Heard to write the opinion piece, and if proven to be true in a court of law, could leave them liable for a defamation lawsuit by Johnny Depp.

Though no activity seems to lean directly to a defamation lawsuit in the case, Depp has sued ACLU in hopes to share if Amber Heard honored her pledge from 2016 to donate her divorce earnings ($3.5 Million) to the non-profit.

Though there is no doubting the relationship and marriage was not a good one for either Depp or Heard the damage has been done and Depp is finding it hard to find work amongst the rumors and allegations with the verdict in his case against The Sun. So far the verdict from the UK courts has cost Johnny Depp his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise for Warner Bros. and his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which is currently set to film a reboot film starring Margot Robbie.

Though Disney has defended Depp in court, and is now reconsidering their decision to step away from the famed actor, that has not deterred Johnny’s legal team from pursuing an appeal in the libel case. Court of Appeal Judge Lord Justice Underhill shared that Johnny Depp and his legal team have been granted an oral hearing to push for an appeal on the verdict, citing they have more evidence to present in the case. The court is awaiting response from Heard’s legal team to present an opposition for the appeal. Her team has until February 21st to file, which will then offer Depp’s team to counter again before February 28th, or a week after an appeal opposition is filed by Heard’s Team, whichever comes first.

‘Cruella’ Earned $42.6 Million at the Global Box Office Over Opening Weekend. As moviegoers begin making their way back to the movies we are seeing a steady rise in opening weekend box office numbers. Likely it will take a few months, if not a year or two for audiences to fully return to theaters. Over Memorial Day weekend A Quiet Place II and Disney’s Cruella both premiered in theaters, with Cruella also opening direct-to-consumer via Disney+ Premier Access.

Disney’s Cruella earned the number 3 slot in theaters, falling behind both F9 and A Quiet Place II. 'Cruella' Earned $42.6 Million at the Global Box Office Over Opening Weekend

Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by Emma Thompson. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

If you are comfortable doing so, we highly recommend going to go see Cruella in theaters so you can thoroughly enjoy the thematic elements of the film, but for those who may not be ready to venture to movie theaters, Cruella is currently available to stream via Disney+ Premier Access. Moana Journey of Water Construction is now underway in Epcot

Moana Journey of Water

Moana Journey of Water Construction is finally under construction. After months of demolition, and clearing debris, we finally can see the foundation. You can see the photo below. Obviously, we have no opening date, we do know that it has been delayed until after 2021 due to the pandemic shut down last year.

The Moana – Journey of Water attraction will be an immersive walkthrough experience where guests can interact with “magical, living water.”

Clearly, there is a long way to go, but this gives us a chance to see how far along Disney Imagineers are. Epcot is undergoing a huge transformation right now. Firstly, we have Spaceship Earth getting new lights for Disney Worlds 50th. Secondly, new rides are almost ready to open, from the Hit Disney Pixar Film Ratatouille, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Thirdly, Harmonious – the new Firework Spectacular.

Stitch Crashes Aladdin Collection Revealed

Stitch Crashes Aladdin
Stitch Crashes Aladdin

Stitch has been crashing Disney movies every month this year! This collection has been wildly popular and the wondrous Stitch Crashes Aladdin collection has been revealed! No official release date has been announced yet, but we should see Stitch crashing onto the Disney Website and at the Disney Parks soon!

This Stitch is a lot of fun with an all-over print that looks inspired by the Magic Carpet, and the Cave of Wonders. It also has a Magic Lamp design woven throughout. The finishing touch is Abu’s hat sitting atop Stitch’s head! As always there will be a plush and a pin. A MagicBand will most likely release at the Disney Parks too.

The April collection was delayed, the May collection also did not debut in Disney Store locations. So there is a possibility that this collection will also be Disney Parks, and shopDisney only.

Boardwalk Ice Cream Shop now open

Boardwalk Ice Cream Shop

Boardwalk Ice Cream Shop now open. Following Walt Disney World resort’s closure last year for the pandemic, Ample Hills Ice Cream never reopened. Before the shutdown, Ample Hills had filed for Chapter 11 and subsequently found a new owner. The new owner was starting to reopen in their home state of New York, but not here at Disney’s Boardwalk.

Without a doubt, we were thrilled, when we happened to be walking on Disney’s Boardwalk and spotted the brand new Boardwalk Ice Cream parlor. This was a chance for us to see if it was anywhere close to being as good as Ample Hills. Undoubtablaly, this is great ice cream. With many flavors to chose from also a decent menu.

Related: Boardwalk Ice Cream Shop replaces Ample Hills Creamery

The new ice cream parlor is located in between ESPN Club and Boardwalk Bakery at Boardwalk Inn. The exterior resembles the Ocean City, NJ, that I/we grew up with. Furthermore, the inside has the very distinct feel of a turn of the century ice cream parlor. It will be hard not to compare it to the elephant in the room, Beaches & Cream, especially it being so close.

Inside Boardwalk Ice Cream Shop

This is a quick-serve, sit outside during a hot summer night and enjoy the view. While Beaches is a sit down inside, get off your feet, have a burger, and kitchen sink with the family. Personally, I prefer the chocolate ice cream at the new place!

I shared the Thundering Surf Peanut Butter Chocolate Sundae with 3 scoops of ice cream, it was more than I could eat alone. It should be noted here that this again resembles Beaches No Way Jose, minus the glass. It is definitely a different ice cream brand they are serving. 2 Scoops Vanilla, 1 Scoop Chocolate, Hot Fudge, Hot Peanut Butter, Whipped Cream, Chips, and a cherry. So yummy, check out the video below.
