Fully Vaccinated Universal Orlando Team Members No Longer Required to Wear Masks Indoors starting tomorrow

Fully Vaccinated Universal Orlando Team Members No Longer Required to Wear Masks

Fully Vaccinated Universal Orlando Team Members No Longer Required to Wear Masks Indoors starting tomorrow. In a safety reminder post to all Team members today. Universal goes onto say that Team members can choose for themselves if they want to wear a mask. This applies to fully vaccinate members. Non-vaccinated Team Members must still wear masks at all times while on the property unless they are backstage and able to social distance.

It has been a tough year for everyone involved with working around the parks. Along with guests being cooped up for too long. Now with summer upon us here in central Florida, and the extreme humidity, it helps not to have to wear masks if fully vaccinated.

While on property – Wearing Protective Face Coverings

All Team Members who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear a facial covering but may do so if that is their preference.

The last line is important, at least to us, importantly it gives Team members the option and liberty to choose. We have noticed any time this type of situation arises, some while and some won’t wear a face mask. As long as they are fully vaccinated, we see no issue to force anyone to wear it now.

I personally choose to keep wearing one even though I have been vaccinated. Also, I have not been sick in over a year. Clearly, though I also do not wear one if I am outdoor and not around tons of people. We are happy the science is working, and this pandemic is winding down.

With more and more opening at the Theme Parks, Universal has started preshow’s back up, removing social distancing and importantly letting people decide for themselves how to best operate inside the parks.

Will Disney Be Replacing Kathleen Kennedy with Jon Favreau as Head of Lucasfilm?

Will Disney Be Replacing Kathleen Kennedy with Jon Favreau as Head of Lucasfilm?

Disney May Be Replacing Kathleen Kennedy with Jon Favreau as Head of Lucasfilm. There is no denying that there are several camps growing in regards to who should be running the show at Lucasfilm, but two distinct camps seems to be growing by the day, those in favor of current President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy and those who would rather see her replaced by The Mandalorian showrunner and Marvel Studios Star Jon Favreau.

Favreau and fellow showrunner Dave Filoni immediately gained favor from Star Wars fans after an extremely successful premiere of the Mandalorian that has now spun off into several upcoming Star Wars live-action series for Disney+ including Ahsoka, Andor, Lando, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett and more. Many fans believe that Favreau’s ability to remind audiences of why they love Star Wars stories so much is a welcome change after the disappointing final trilogy in the Skywalker Saga under Kennedy’s leadership. Prompting many fans to call for Favreau to replace her as President of Lucasfilm after Indiana Jones 5.

Star Wars fans are not the only ones that seem to be unhappy with Kathleen Kennedy’s leadership, with several reports stating that Lucasfilm creator George Lucas would rather see The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch showrunner and executive producer Dave Filoni as President of Lucasfilm.

The news that Disney may be reconsidering Kennedy’s position with the studio should be taken with a grain of salt, since during the 2021 shareholder meeting, Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke out on various calls for Kennedy’s firing from Lucasfilm, stating: “We look forward to having Kathy direct the activities of the entire Lucasfilm organization for many years to come.“ Though, if prompted for change, Disney has been known to reconsider their choices in regards to filmmakers and leadership, so we shall have to wait and see if Disney is willing to listen to fans on this one.

Lucasfilm has several major projects in the works, including films by directors such as Taika Waititi and Rian Johnson, as well as original series that will premiere exclusively on Disney+. Some upcoming titles include Ahsoka, The Rangers of the New Republic, Andor, Rogue Squadron, The Mandalorian: Season 3, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, The Bad Batch, and more. First look at the new pavement you will find in Epcot

First look at the new pavement you will find in Epcot

First look at the new pavement you will find in Epcot. Pavement is not something we pay attention to very much. Unless you are on at Walt Disney World, then you notice! Definitely, Disney does an awesome job with theming, especially when it makes its way to places we often think about, like the ground we walk on.

Think of the “brown” pavement in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. Also, the ground near Storybook Circus, where you can see the elephant tracks along with the cart tracks. Importantly, one of the best-themed resorts, Wilderness Lodge looks like wildlife walked through the wet cement as it was being poured. Included in this would also be the Leave a Legacy stones at Epcot or the bricks in front of Magic Kingdom.

Zach Riddley posted on Instagram about such things, you can see the whole post below. In it, he goes onto explain some of the new pathways we are used to walking on.

new pavement you will find in Epcot
From Zach Riddley – Disney Imagineer –

Continuing to look at the inspiration and design details of EPCOT, today I’m sharing a story about paving. It’s a surface you don’t often pay direct attention to, but the color and texture of the ground under your feet are a primary surface for storytelling. Cobblestones, brick, curbing, scored concrete, patterned terrazzo (like the new flooring coming to Club Cool and Creations Shop that I’ve shared previously) all work to immerse you in a believable place.

But we actually prefer you don’t notice the ground too much! It’s all part of the bigger composition of placemaking that makes each of our parks and neighborhoods special.

Related: Creations Shop construction continues in Epcot

For EPCOT we set out to find new paving materials to define this texture for World Celebration. We wanted warm grays in a range of hues to complement the silvers and off-whites of Spaceship Earth and many of our new World Celebration facades. Here you can see some of the material and samples the team evaluates when thinking about scale tone, reflectivity, and overall colors.

Funny how something as simple as pavement can be so important to achieving an environment that just “feels right.”

Disney’s Polynesian Resort Construction update

Disney's Polynesian Resort Construction

Disney’s Polynesian Resort Construction update. Clearly, we are all looking forward to the Polynesian resort reopening. Importantly, they are doing tons of projects trying to get the resort ready for guests again. With Ohana about to welcome guests back, along with the Moana room refurbishment. As well as repainting, and that is all besides the major Monorail overhaul. Additionally, whatever is going on next to Pineapple Lanai. We have some updated images to share with all of you.

The major cranes have been removed and importantly, the roof is almost done along with the new entrance way. It looks like a good amount of cosmetic work needs to be finishes, but the major structural work is done. Now, onto the inside, fresh paint signs are up around the resort. Stairways are getting a fresh coat. We noticed work also being done outside to the rooms and bungalows.

We also noticed how many workers they have on property getting things done. I would like to say they are doing an amazing job, and cannot wait to see the final product.

Polynesian Resort has been closed for well over a year now, shutting down at the same time as all the other resorts when the pandemic hit. It never reopened with the rest of Disney World Resort, except for the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows for DVC members. Also, open at the Polynesian is the Lava pool, Capt. Cooks, Tambu Lounge Pineapple Lanai, and Kona Café. Ohana remains closed along with Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.
