Missing those African-inspired flavors of Animal Kingdom like this Curry Sausage Corn Dog!

This treat is a classic is knows as “Famous Sausages” at Harambe Market in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and features a corn dog inspired by a South African sausage called a boerewors, dipped in curry-infused corn batter, sound delicious right? Well we have great news because now you can make this treat at home!

Just follow this easy recipe from Delish and transport yourself to the famous African marketplace!

CURRY SAUSAGE CORN DOG

INGREDIENTS:

Curry Corn Dog Batter

1 1/4 cup of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of cornmeal
1/4 cup of sugar
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of coarse salt
1/2 tsp of curry powder
2 eggs
1 cup of milk

Curry Salt

1/2 tsp of curry powder
2 tbsp of coarse salt

Curry Sausage Corn Dog

Canola oil, for frying
8 cooked Bratwurst or knockwurst sausage
8 (6″) bamboo skewers
Curry corn dog batter
Curry salt, to taste
Mustard, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

To make the curry corn dog batter: In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking soda, salt and curry powder. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition. Slowly add 3/4 cup of milk, mixing until smooth and no clumps remain, 4 to 5 minutes. If the batter is too thick to coat sausages, add 1 tbsp of the remaining milk at a time until reaching desired consistency.
For the curry salt: Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
With caution, heat canola oil in a large pot to 350F. Thread sausages onto bamboo skewers, pushing skewer into about 3/4 of the sausage. Leave enough space at the end of the skewer to hold onto while eating.
Place batter in a tall, cylindrical container. Dip skewered sausage vertically into batter. Slowly remove sausage.
To fry corn dogs: With caution and using tongs to firmly hold skewer, place and hold dipped sausage vertically into the oil for 30 seconds, then carefully release the corn dog and fry for 6 to 8 minutes, until an internal temperature of 165F is reached and batter is golden brown, turning as necessary.
Use tongs to remove from oil and place on paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining sausages. Garnish with curry salt and mustard.

Great news! Disney Cast Members will be among the first to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure before the grand official opening on October 1st.

Bonjour Cast Members! As part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration honoring our 50th anniversary, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will officially open in the France pavilion at EPCOT on October 1.

With Cast Members at the very heart of our 50th celebration, we are thrilled to offer Cast Members some “squeak” peek opportunities for this recipe for excitement!

We’re still “cooking up” more details, so stay tuned to the HUB for more about preview dates and registration opportunities—coming soon! C’est magnifique!

Disney World is currently recruiting Cast Members for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as we speak.

Guests are once again required to wear Face Masks indoors at Disney World

Guests are being asked once again to wear Face Masks indoors at Disney World and also Disneyland starting today.

We were at Epcot and saw signage up all over the theme park.

The signage is on display before you enter the parks and on most buildings before you walk in.

The official word from Disney on Face Masks reads:

Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.

Over at Universal Orlando, only Team Members who work indoors are being asked to wear Face Masks at this time. With the number of COVID-19 Delta Variant cases skyrocketing in both Florida and California, we might see these policies change again very soon.

Sequel in the Works for Emma Stone’s ‘Easy A’. The 2010 film Easy A is based on the classic 1850 novel The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Easy A modernizes the story featured in the novel and follows Olive Penderghast who is prompted by her popular best friend to spill details of her boring weekend. Olive (Emma Stone), is a clean-cut teen, who decides to spice things up by telling a little lie about losing her virginity. When the high-school busybody (Amanda Bynes) overhears the conversation and spreads it all over campus, Olive is suddenly notorious but for the wrong reasons.

Interest in a sequel hasn’t been lost on the film’s screenwriter Bert Royal who in recent years shared that there is plenty to be explored should a sequel be picked up by Sony Pictures. Royal shared with Variety back in 2019, “Times have changed quite a bit since I wrote that movie! The term ‘slut-shaming’ wasn’t even in existence when the movie came out, and people were barely texting back then. Now, we’re in this whole new world where people are very open and things that were taboo even 10 years ago are not as taboo now. There’s a lot of fun stuff to explore.”

Emma Stone’s Easy A co-star Aly Michalka recently confirmed that a sequel is in development, telling E! News, “There are talks that there might be a sequel. That actually is semi-real…It would be kind of like a new retelling but you’d see some of the characters from the original come back into the story.”

E! News went on the share that the reported sequel would focus on Olive’s younger and adopted brother Chip Penderghast and be “set at the same high school and will explore many of the same themes as the original.” It is currently unknown who would return for the featured film or if the movie would be released in theaters or via streaming services. Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. First look at the out of this world foods coming to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

This morning Disney shared a Behind the Scenes look at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Disney Imagineers discussed all sorts of details about this groundbreaking project that is coming to Disney World in 2022.

One thing we wanted to point out from that video is the out-of-this-world foods coming to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. In the video, we learn all about some of the new foods that are included with your stay.

Some of these new Star Wars food items feel like they are from a galaxy far far away. This looks like some sort of peel & eat shrimp.

People will be surprised at how unique these new food items will be and how they relate to the different locations in the Star Wars Universe.

Disney Chefs are taking really delicious things and presenting them in unexpected ways.

These new foods remind me of Pandora and how Disney Chefs were able to take traditional foods and turn them into things that seem out of this world.

ICON Park on scheduled to open World’s Tallest Attractions this December. “The Orlando Slingshot™ and “Orlando Free Fall™ are joining their sister attraction the Orlando StarFlyer™, the world’s tallest stand-alone swing ride, to make ICON Park the ‘Land of the Giants’,” said Ritchie Armstrong, owner of Slingshot Group of Companies™. “We’re excited to introduce these towering attractions to Central Florida and make the holiday season more exciting than ever.”

The Orlando Slingshot™ at ICON Park will stand at 300 feet, making it the world’s tallest slingshot. The two-tower attraction will launch two riders out of an “exploding volcano” approximately 450 feet straight up into the sky, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.

The Orlando Free Fall™ at ICON Park will stand at 430 feet, making it the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower. Thirty riders will be able to embrace the beautiful sites of ICON Park and I-Drive as the ride vehicle rotates around the gigantic tower and rises high into the skyline. Once the ride vehicle reaches the top, it’ll tilt forward 30 degrees and face the ground for a brief moment before free-falling nearly 400 feet at speeds reaching over 75 mph.

Disney Responds to Scarlett Johansson Lawsuit

Disney Responds to Scarlett Johansson Lawsuit. If you haven’t been on the internet the last two days or saw that one of the most prolific actresses (Scarlett Johansson) and one of the largest entertainment conglomerates (Disney) are now duking it out in court over a breach of contract here is a quick synopsis:

Per Scarlett Johansson’s contract for Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, a portion of her contract stated the film would have a theatrical-only initial release, meaning the movie would premiere in theaters and potentially premiere on other platforms at a later date. It is no secret that the film was released simultaneously in theaters and via Disney+ Premier Access (D+PA), and though Johansson will still make earnings on the D+PA release, her contract was never renegotiated despite her legal team and representatives had reached out to Disney throughout the pandemic regarding the release of the film when the world was adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the alleged offer to renegotiate, Disney reportedly never responded to Scarlett’s team or offered the chance to renegotiate her contract before announcing and implementing the film’s revised premiere plans. Standing up for herself, Scarlett and her team have chosen to sue Disney over the breach of contract, citing the terms of her contract were broken despite her willingness to renegotiate and being stonewalled by the company through the pandemic.

Johansson’s legal team shared in a statement regarding the lawsuit, “Disney intentionally induced Marvel’s breach of the agreement, without justification, in order to prevent Ms. Johansson from realizing the full benefit of her bargain with Marvel.” One of Scarlett’s attorney’s in the case, John Berlinski, added, “This will surely not be the last case where Hollywood talent stands up to Disney and makes it clear that, whatever the company may pretend, it has a legal obligation to honor its contracts.“

Now, Disney has responded to the suit, claiming Johansson is being dismissive of the effects of the global pandemic for her own gain. The official statement reads, “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.“
