Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Grinchmas returning to Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood will ring in the “Awesomest Celebration of the Season” with the return of fan favorites “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™” and “Grinchmas™” beginning Friday, November 25, 2022, and running daily through Sunday, January 1, 2023. All holiday festivities are included in the price of theme park admission.

“Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” brings the spirit of the holiday season to the village of Hogsmeade™, which is transformed with festive décor and merriment. Guests can savor a delicious Hot Butterbeer™ while enjoying a special holiday a capella performance from the Hogwarts Frog Choir. Activities also include holiday shopping for exclusive items within the village shops, including personalized ornaments and notebooks, and dining on hearty holiday fare at Three Broomsticks™.

As night falls on the snowy town, Hogwarts™ Castle will come to life in a dazzling spectacle, “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.” The impressive light projection show will amaze audiences with its stunning imagery and animation as the castle infuses the land with joyous wonderment and features music and sounds from the Harry Potter film series.

The cheerful “Grinchmas” Who-bilation will return in jolly fashion to Universal Plaza, located in the heart of the theme park. Festive park-goers can marvel in amazement at the topsy-turvy 65 foot-tall “Grinchmas” tree decorated with hundreds of ornaments and thousands of LED lights. Every evening, a jovial tree lighting ceremony will excite guests as they listen to the Grinch himself tell his story along with the Who-ville Whos, ending in a snowball flurry, bringing joy and merriment to all.

A variety of activities are available to guests looking to get into the “Grinchmas” spirit. The Grinch and his faithful dog Max will be available for photo opportunities throughout the day. Cindy-Lou Who leads daily story time for young visitors looking to learn of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and the Who-ville post office will be accepting postcards with holiday messages. Additionally, an array of sweet holiday treats, including hot cocoa, will be available for purchase.

Adding to the theme park activities, Universal CityWalk will be dressed for the holiday season with spirited décor and a 40 foot-tall Christmas tree featuring more than 200,000 LED lights. The infamous Voodoo Doughnut will tempt guests with delicious seasonal flavors to celebrate the holiday spirit.

First Look at Halloween on the High Seas on the Disney Wish

Halloween on the High Seas has returned to Disney Cruise Line! Halloween on the High Seas is a spooktacular Halloween celebration on select Disney sailings. The Disney Wish, the newest ship in Disney’s fleet, is celebrating Halloween for the first time! Take a look at all the Halloween happenings on the new ship.

The enchantment of the already-gorgeous Grand Hall is elevated with beautiful garland ordained with pumpkins and fall florals.

But of course, the highlight of the décor is the all-new Pumpkin Tree. Every Disney Cruise Line ship features a signature Pumpkin Tree in its atrium with a unique look and personality, and the tree on the Disney Wish features lighter bark, graceful branches and a mystical face, setting it apart from the rest. As the tale would have it, this enchanted tree – named Boo! – grew perfect gourds with the help of a Wishing Star at night, producing the perfect pumpkin that became the coach that carried Cinderella to the Prince’s Ball.

Also new this season, we’re putting a spell on Disney Cruise Line guests with a wickedly fun character meet and greet opportunity. While all characters on board adorn Halloween costumes as part of the festivities, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow can be found running amuck on each ship as their favorite Halloween sisters, the Sandersons from the movie “Hocus Pocus.”

Halloween Candy Pizza Cookie from Hollywood Studios is Treat and a Trick

Does the new Halloween Candy Cookie Pizza taste like a pizza, or a cookie? We had to find out. With that red sauce and white cheese-like topping we didn’t know what to expect. We at Chip & Company took it upon ourselves to head over to Hollywood Studios and do a little investigating for you.

This cookie might be a trick to your eyes but it’s a treat for the tastebuds. You may want to share this one though because it is very sweet.

Halloween Candy Pizza Cookie Flavors

One of the first surprises is the texture of the cookie. The sugar cookie underneath is soft, bordering a crumbly texture. The soft cookie is in contrast to the hard white melted chocolate on top which can make eating the cookie in one piece a bit more difficult. My one complaint is there is too much white chocolate making this pizza cookie overly sweet.

The red sauce you see below the white chocolate is a strawberry jam that I thought had a nice flavor and complimented the sugar cookie well.

The toppings, while adding to the already high sugar content, were fun and festive. Mini M&M’s, sprinkles, candy corn, pumpkins, and the occasional eyeball made me think of Rizzo and his rat friends in the back of the restaurant throwing these pizzas together.

Rizzo is a wisecracking streetsmart rat and a loveable character from The Muppet Show.

You can get this Halloween Candy Pizza Cookie in Hollywood Studios at PizzeRizzo’s quick-service pizzeria just across from the Muppet Vision 3D show for $4.29.

All in all, I think this is a fun and tasty snack that’s best shared with someone due to it being so sweet. It will certainly help give you a quick energy boost!

Named by USA Today the “Number One Thing To Do In December In Orlando” when it debuted in 2020, Night of a Million Lights is back for its third year in a spectacular new venue – with more pizzazz, sparkle, and excitement than ever before!

From November 11, 2022, through January 1, 2023, Island H2O Water Park in Kissimmee, FL, will be transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland featuring millions of lights, luminous displays, festive family activities, and live entertainment for a one-of-a-kind, fully immersive holiday experience. Nightly entertainment will include performances by Dueling Pianos Jingle and Jangle and the strolling a cappella group Santa’s Dancing Reindeer, with DJ Jack Frost Ice Block Party leading an interactive holiday hits dance party. Final Disney World Railroad Tracks getting ready to be installed in the Magic Kingdom. We have been following the progress of the Walt Disney World Railroad contribution happening under the new Tron Lightcycle/ Run Coaster for months now, and we have been seeing some real advancement lately.

The tunnel that runs under Disney’s newest coaster is complete, with tracks finally laid in place, and now it looks like the construction crew is laying the rock stabilizers between the tracks. Furthermore, we can see the ground leading out of the tracks that will reconnect the whole system is done and ready for track placement.

The Cast Member walkway through the backstage area leading to the Tron ride has been finished. The only thing truly left to do is see how the Cast will cross the railroad tracks and if Disney will be installing gates in the pathway.

All Aboard!

Listen to the clamor of the engine, the chug of the wheels, and the call of the whistle as you travel aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Take your seat on 1 of 4 meticulously restored, vintage narrow-gauge steam trains—originally built between 1916 and 1928—and enjoy a relaxing 20-minute, 1.5-mile scenic round-trip tour.

New Tower of Terror Merchandise Drops into Hollywood Studios

We checked into Hollywood Tower Hotel to see some new merchandise that recently dropped in. I’m sure thankful I didn’t have to take the elevator!

Tower of Terror Clothing

This long sleeve burgundy women’s shirt is a newer addition. It’s lightweight and soft. It has the Hollywood Tower Hotel logo on the front and an HTH logo on the back just under the neckline. It retails for $44.99.

Next up is a 3/4 sleeve women’s shirt in a grey/ taupe shade with “A Warm Welcome Back To Those Who Made It” on the front alongside a 1930s retro-looking Minnie Mouse. The Hollywood Tower Hotel logo is just underneath. It is priced at $39.99.

Capri-style leggings in sizes from small to 3x are available. They are a dark grey/faded black color with the HTH logo printed on them. They will set you back $39.99.

This soft black zip-up hoodie jacket has a Hollywood Tower Hotel logo on the front and a large print on the back with the saying “Late One Fateful Night They Disappeared Out Of Sight” in between the lettering “1939 Hollywood Tower Hotel” and it is detailed in gold lettering. The lining of the hood is burgundy with the HTH logo in black lettering. The hooded jacket sells for $69.99.

Tower of Terror might be one of the scariest rides in Hollywood Studios but nothing is as scary as a morning without caffeine. This black Hollywood Tower Hotel coffee mug features Mickey in his 1930s attire with the quote “Drop-In… If you Dare”. The back side has the HTH logo along with Hollywood Tower Hotel on it. It’s priced at $14.99.

The classic Hollywood Tower of Terror Bellhop has a new look. A new design is featured on the top of the hat showing the outline of the hotel. It is $24.99.

This newer version of Minnie Ears has burgundy, gold, and black coloring. The bow is a cream color and has numbers representing the floors of the hotel while the center of the bow features 2 hands that point forward to the elevator’s current destination. It is Loungefly branded and sells for $39.99.

This adorable keychain is a great souvenir to remind you you are one of the lucky survivors of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. It is a miniature version of the TOT’s Bellhop hat. It has a velvety texture and is detailed around the top and sides. It is priced at $14.99.

New Marvel Experiences coming to Disney Parks & Cruise Line

New York Comic Con took place yesterday, October 7. The Suiting Up with Super Heroes at Disney Parks and Experiences panel announced new Marvel experiences coming to Disney parks and Disney Cruise Line.

In 2022 alone, Avengers Campus opened at Disneyland Paris, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT started launching guests on an intergalactic chase through space and time and plans for a third attraction for Avengers Campus at the Disneyland Resort were revealed during D23 Expo. This upcoming epic family adventure will let you team up with the Avengers and their allies to battle against foes from the multiverse, including King Thanos, a villain designed specifically for Avengers Campus. Also in 2022, the Disney Wish set sail with Worlds of Marvel and Marvel Super Hero Academy.

With Super Hero offerings now at Disney Parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Hong Kong, Paris and Shanghai, and on multiple ships across the Disney Cruise Line fleet, panelists had so much to discuss about the interconnected storytelling that brings fans into the action and allows them to join the next generation of Super Hero recruits. Whether it’s introducing new characters or opening new lands, one thing is certain from the panel: these heroic experiences are just getting started.

Since the opening of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park, the roster of heroes guests can encounter has continued to grow with each new film or Disney+ series, from Shang-Chi to America Chavez, Loki, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and so many more. With the Nov. 11 release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” guests will soon discover even more at the Disneyland Resort. Check out the teaser below.

M’Baku, one of Wakanda’s greatest warriors and chieftain of the Jabari Clan, will soon make the journey to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. Stay tuned for more announcements coming later this month on what’s to come for Avengers Campus at Disneyland Resort in celebration of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

And also joining the Wakandan action just in time for the new film is Disneyland Paris! More details are coming soon on how the resort is celebrating the next chapter in the Black Panther story.

Disney Cruise Line guests can summon their inner Super Hero during an unforgettable day aboard the Disney Dream during select sailings from Miami in early 2023.

Occurring on one action-packed day during Marvel Day at Sea sailings, Super Heroes assemble aboard the ship in a full-scale takeover. The event includes all-day entertainment, encounters with Super Heroes and Villains, themed youth activities, an adults-only Ravagers party in the nightclub, special merchandise, unique food and beverage offerings and more. The event culminates with “Heroes Unite,” an action-packed show where the largest collection of Super Heroes and Villains face off in an exciting battle at sea — featuring incredible stunts, special effects, pyrotechnics and music taking over the upper decks of the ship.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded, so has the roster of characters and stories we can bring to life on board, and it was announced during the panel that next year’s Marvel Day at Sea event will feature new characters and new entertainment inspired by recent films and television series. It’ll be everything our guests have loved about this event and more. If you love Super Heroes — and you want the perfect excuse to escape the winter and have an amazing tropical vacation — this is the cruise for you. Announced earlier this year, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort will receive a special holiday remix just in time for the holidays. The Guardians will trade their classic hits playlist for a new holiday song for a limited time this holiday season. Guests will get the chance to help save the galaxy on the attraction they know and love all while rocking out to a mash-up of classic holiday tunes.

The panel may be over, but New York Comic Con attendees can still explore the Wonders of Xandar outpost. Following the successful opening of the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion at Walt Disney World Resort, Xandarians have traveled to New York to continue their mission of learning more about Terra (or as we call it, “Earth”). They’re trading Galactic Units in exchange for Terran artifacts or knowledge, and as it so happens, they also have a Zarg Nuts vending machine on site that accepts Galactic Units. Come meet the Xandarian Ambassadors, learn more about our shared galaxy and try Drax the Destroyer’s favorite snack for yourself!

The Wonders of Xandar outpost is inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, an all new thrill-coaster at EPCOT in Florida. We know you’ll leave the space hungry for more…and luckily, Walt Disney World Resort is only a quick Terran flight away.
