Disney Reveals New Details for Asteria Storyliving Community in North Carolina

The dream of living with a touch of Disney magic is getting much closer for North Carolina residents. Today, Disney shared a first look at several key spaces coming to Asteria, the newest “Storyliving by Disney” community currently in development in Pittsboro, just outside of Raleigh.

At the center of the community will be the Second Star Club, a private club designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Taking its name from the celestial compass in the 1953 animated classic Peter Pan, the club is envisioned as a “campus of discovery.” Residents will be able to participate in everything from hands-on creative workshops and culinary demonstrations to Disney-inspired fitness classes and guided nature hikes.

Today’s reveal highlighted three specific areas that will anchor the Asteria lifestyle:

  • Lost Key Cottage: This is a first-of-its-kind, storybook-inspired home within the community. The bespoke five-bedroom home is themed entirely around Peter Pan, with storytelling elements woven through the architecture. It is designed to be a versatile space for resident gatherings and hosted experiences.
  • Marquet Hall: Serving as the community’s two-story signature restaurant, Marquet Hall will offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Keep an eye on the roof—Imagineers have shared that the weather vane will feature a dusting of “pixie dust” from Tinker Bell herself.
  • Aster Green: This expansive central gathering lawn will be the primary spot for the neighborhood to connect. It is designed to host everything from pick-up soccer games and family picnics to live music and Disney movie nights under the Carolina sky.

Asteria is being built within the larger Chatham Park development and is heavily influenced by the nearby Research Triangle. The community’s theme focuses on curiosity and lifelong learning, with subtle nods to other Disney classics like Alice in Wonderland, Bambi, and Beauty and the Beast woven into the landscape.

The community will eventually be home to approximately 4,000 residences, including single-family and multi-family options for all ages, as well as dedicated neighborhoods for adults 55 and better.

While we still have a bit of a wait before move-ins begin, this latest look at the Second Star Club shows that the “Disney difference” is officially heading to the Piedmont.
