Disneyland After Dark Events Returning for 2023 With New Princess Nite

Disneyland After Dark events are returning to the Disneyland Resort next year! We previously shared that Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite would be returning and now Disney has announced a new event. For the very first time, Disney After Dark: Princess Nite will take place.

Disneyland After Dark begins with a three-hour pre-party mix-in from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT at Disneyland park, then the private party begins from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. PT, which also means you may ride some popular attractions after regular park hours! Additionally, at each of these events, you’ll receive unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the party, plus commemorative keepsakes including a souvenir credential and event guide map, so you’ll have lots of fun ways to remember your Disneyland After Dark experience!

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite

Jan. 31, Feb. 2, 5, 7, 9, 14, 16, 2023, at Disneyland Park

Sweethearts’ Nite will take place on seven different “date nights” in Disneyland park – the most ever for a Disneyland After Dark event! Celebrate the love of your life, your best pal or cherished family at this very special evening that will put your heart a flutter:

ABC pulls Backstreet Boys Holiday Special following Nick Carter Lawsuit

ABC has canceled next week’s “A Very Backstreet Holiday” after the recent accusation made against Nick Carter.

The Backstreet Boys’ holiday special was filmed in Los Angeles, and was slated to air on Dec. 14. It featured Carter alongside AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough. The group debuted their first holiday album, “A Very Backstreet Christmas,” in October.

Seth Rogen, Meghan Trainor and Nikki Glaser were among the many other celebrities slated to attend the special.

On Thursday, Nick Carter was sued by a woman who alleged that she was 17 years old when Carter assaulted her on his tour bus after a concert in 2001, according to documents obtained by Variety.

Nick Carter has denied the allegations.

“This claim about an incident that supposedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally meritless but also entirely untrue,” Carter’s attorney, Michael Holtz, said in a statement to Variety. “Unfortunately, for several years now, Ms. Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick – and those allegations have changed repeatedly and materially over time. No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer – there is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize.”

Breaking: James Cameron Pitches New Updates for Avatar Flight of Passage

The director of the 2009 blockbuster “Avatar” is making an interesting pitch for updating the Flight of Passage ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

In a recent interview, Variety asked Cameron whether “Pandora – The World of Avatar” – the “Avatar”-themed land at Walt Disney World in Orlando – might be getting a water ride to tie in with the sequel.

“When Bob Iger came back a couple weeks ago, I did send him an email and say, ‘You know, we can do “Avatar 2” and 3 motifs and put them into the physical hardware of “Avatar Flight of Passage”,’” he reveals. “He liked that idea. So nothing has been decided. But, you know, we would like to carry that along and update it from time to time with things that flow back out of the new movies. Because I think there’s a good synergy between the physical base where you can go and just kind of meditate and be on Pandora and how the movies progress the story and bring in new imagery.”

If the movie sequel proves to be a smash hit, then James Cameron may be able to convince Disney to make changes to Flight of Passage.

James Cameron’s first follow-up to his “Avatar,” the highest-grossing film of all time, will open in theaters on December 16. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet.

Universal Orlando Gives Back

Universal Orlando Foundation as part of its ongoing partnership with the Central Florida Community has awarded more than $1 million in grants this week to over 30 local charities.

This is Universal Orlando Foundations 25th year serving the community. The Foundation gathered 30 community partners at a first-ever, “Celebration of Giving,” event.

Initiated in 1998, the foundation has delivered more than $30 million in grants to organizations helping Central Florida children and families. They have also developed several programs such as Art of Tomorrow for young students interested in the arts. Another program Bites, Camera, Action serves as a mobile food pantry.

Universal Team Members Give Back

Team members are giving back as well! The team members have volunteered more than 35,000 hours of their time.

“Central Florida is home for our company and for our 25,000 team members and we care about our community,” said John Sprouls, Executive Vice President, and Chief Administrative Officer, at Universal Parks & Resorts, and President of the Universal Orlando Foundation. “We are inspired by the vision and mission of all the community groups we partner with and we are thrilled for this opportunity to recognize their great work.”

Coming Soon to the Magic Kingdom is an all-new Mickey Balloon Premium Rainbow Popcorn Bucket!

The shiny metallic Mickey Popcorn bucket will include a rainbow strap and read “Magic Kingdom Established 1971” on the front.

Disney announced that it will be available starting on December 12th via mobile order and then on December 13th it will be available at all Magic Kingdom popcorn carts.

There is no word if the Mobile Order Pickup will be in the same location as the Mr. Toad Popcorn bucket (Big Top Treats) nor has Disney released a price as of yet.

Walt Disney Company’s Heroes Work Here Program Celebrates 10-Year Milestone

The Walt Disney Company just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its hiring program which has led to the onboarding of more than 12,500 veterans throughout the Company. The program is called Heroe’s Work Here. Hero’s Work here got its start in 2012 and is responsible for hiring, training, and supporting U.S. military veterans as they transition from military service to a civilian lifestyle.

“The Walt Disney Company is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Heroes Work Here program, which has seen us hire more than 12,500 veterans since it was established in 2012,” said Latondra Newton, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of The Walt Disney Company.

“The program is designed to recognize and honor their sacrifice and service and offer opportunities for veterans and military spouses as they look to build meaningful careers following their military service. Many of them have helped us continue to build and enhance the program with new ideas and innovative ways we support veterans at Disney.”

Veterans Institute

Heroes Work Here was so successful in 2013 it led to Disney creating the Veterans Institute. The Veterans Institute is designed to help companies enhance their recruiting, training, and development of veteran talent. Bringing together veterans, business experts, government officials, and leaders of veteran nonprofits.

Veterans Institute provides networking and advice for a successful transition from the military to the civilian workforce. Seven summits have been held across the country, with the most recent one presented by Disney Institute and the Wounded Warrior Project on August 19–20, 2022, at Walt Disney World Resort. That same month, Disney welcomed hundreds of elite athletes from the U.S. military and allied nations at the 2022 Department of Defense Warrior Games.

“We were thrilled to welcome the return of Veterans Institute Summit this past August,” said Cappy Surette, Senior Manager, External Communications, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products; a retired U.S. Navy Captain, and a founder of the Disney SALUTE Veteran Business Employee Resource Group. “

Heroes Supply Here

In 2015 Disney also created Heroes Supply Here which offers support for our veterans and their families. This program is aimed at increasing Disney’s spending with businesses that are owned by veterans, including service-disabled veterans.

“Disney is a company that enthusiastically reaches out to veterans, letting us know we have a part to play. Being part of the Disney family has made a difference as I’ve transitioned from the military to the next chapter in my journey,” said Ariel Elias, Manager, Supplier Diversity, a retired Marine Corps Warrant Officer, and a former participant in Disney’s military fellowship program.

Early Roots

The Walt Disney Company’s appreciation for the military started from its earliest roots. Walt Disney was a driver in the Red Cross Ambulance Corps, and his brother Roy Disney was a petty officer in the U.S. Navy.

A Newfound Sense of Purpose For Many of Our Veterans

Many of our servicemen and women often struggle to find a new path after their military careers have ended. Programs like the ones initiated by the Walt Disney Company are not only a great way to help retired veterans looking for new ways to support their families and serve the community but also serve to recognize them for their accomplishments and showcase and honor them for the heroes they are.

My father, Alexander Stromski was a U.S. Navy Pilot, and WWII Veteran before entering into his role as a Disney Cast member. His most famous role was that of the resident Gepetto and door greeter at Pinocchio Village Haus where he had a huge impact on both guests and fellow cast members.

The respect, honor, and recognition the Walt Disney Company gave to my father will forever be in my heart. He truly loved his job and it gave him so much happiness that he worked there right up until his passing at the age of 94. He was honored with the prestigious Legacy Award weeks before his passing. I am grateful for the support and kindness that the Disney Company has for its military and its families.

I think the programs initiated by The Walt Disney Company are great tools for many military families. I hope our heroes can find happiness and a place they feel they belong after sacrificing so much for our country. I applaud Disney for all their initiatives and to our heroes, I salute you!

Universal’s Great Movie Escape is now officially open at Universal CityWalk – bringing an entirely new level of escape room experience to Universal Orlando Resort. Created by the same masterminds behind some of the destination’s most exciting and innovative entertainment, Universal’s Great Movie Escape is comprised of two distinct, cinematic escape adventures inspired by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s iconic Jurassic World and Back to the Future films – each boasting eight immersive environments that feature state-of-the-art challenges, detailed sets and captivating storylines that allow guests to step into blockbuster films like never before.

Universal’s award-winning entertainment team partnered closely with escape room industry experts and the visionary Jurassic World and Back to the Future filmmakers to create this innovative experience that goes beyond the typical escape room. Jurassic World: Escape
Guests are new geneticists at a secret lab on Isla Nublar, where they are undergoing training that includes the completion of various day-to-day tasks that range from feeding ferocious dinosaurs to splicing dinosaur DNA to create new genetic codes…until they learn an apex predator has broken free and now they must work together to avoid becoming its prey.

Back to the Future: OUTATIME
Guests are transported to a museum in 1993, where they learn Back to the Future’s antagonist, Biff, is up to his antics and has stolen Doc Brown’s newest time travel device to sabotage the space-time continuum. Guests must work together to uncover Doc Brown’s clues as they travel through time to track down Biff and save the past and future before they run “outatime.”

Tickets for Universal’s Great Movie Escape start at $49.99 per person, plus tax for access to either Jurassic World: Escape or Back to the Future: OUTATIME (experience includes up to six guests per group and may include multiple parties). New Gelato Cart Spotted in Muppetsland at Hollywood Studios. If you are looking to cool off on a hot day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or just looking to stop and have a good snack or treat, Gelato is the newest addition to the Parks.

With no announcement by Disney, a new 3-wheeled bike stand selling gelato has arrived. Selling various flavors. They will also be selling a “flavor of the day”. According to the cast members, this is a permanent ice cream stand.

Fair Warning, if you try and walk onto Muppets Vision 3D with a scoop of gelato, they will not let you in!

First Look at Te Fiti at Journey of Water Inspired by Moana in Epcot

Construction is underway at Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in Epcot. Today Walt Disney Imagineering has shared with us the first look at Te Fiti from this all-new attraction coming to Epcot in LATE 2023!

This morning, our project team at Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana welcomed Te Fiti at her position along the trail.

This is a momentous milestone for the project team as we continue to bring this experience to life for EPCOT guests in Late 2023.
