Annual Passholder Holiday Bonus Week for Theme Park Reservations. Okay, let us get this out of the way, no matter how this article is written, I am going to get hate. People hate the reservation system, and people hate that they can’t buy Disney’s Annual Passes right now. So here is an article about both at the same time. Woot!

Happy Holidays from the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Reservation System (think that may be a brand new sentence). This week, prior to most passes being blocked out for the Holidays here at Disney World, all Disney Parks are Bonus reservations. Meaning any reservation this week for any park will not count against your reservations.

To enter a theme park, all Guests ages 3 and older must have a theme park reservation in addition to valid admission for the same park on the same date (limit one park per day). At this time a theme park reservation is not required to visit a water park, however, theme park reservation requirements are subject to change

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary next year and has released a Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration Commercial. The celebration, which honors 100 years of Disney, will kick off at the Disneyland Resort on January 27, 2023.

Instagram user “disneynewsplus” shared the commercial, which you can see above. The advertisement shows Sleeping Beauty Castle and a glimpse at Mickey’s new celebration costume. The tagline for the commercial is “Where Wonder Comes to Life”.

The 100 Years of Wonder Celebration will include new nighttime spectaculars, new costumes for characters, special decor, exclusive merchandise, and so much more!

Hong Kong Disneyland Cast Members Sign Part of Arendelle Castle for NEW World of Frozen Land

A new World of Frozen Land is coming to Hong Kong Disneyland! Cast Members gathered recently to sign part of the Arendelle Castle.

Early on the morning of November 22, 2022, a group of Magic Makers gathered in a special spot overlooking the construction site of World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort in celebration of a historic construction milestone.

Cast members, including Hong Kong Disneyland Resort managing director Michael Moriarty, leaders, Imagineers, Project team and the Test and Adjust team, came together for the first cast engagement activity of the themed land: the “Ice Magic Signing Moment.”

The group signed their names on pieces of Ice Magic, which were placed on Arendelle Castle, forever becoming a part of the themed land. Cast members were thrilled to become a part of the story of World of Frozen.

“I joined Park Operations in 2016 and moved to the World of Frozen Test and Adjust team this June, and today standing here having my name signed on the Ice Magic, I feel like I have grown up with this place,” said Fanchi Chan, Attraction Test and Adjust coordinator.

“Our team was very excited to join this iconic moment. It is truly memorable and meaningful for us to be part of a milestone of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort!”, Issac Lam, Attraction Test and Adjust coordinator, shared.

The Ice Magic pieces were inspired by the story of “Frozen,” where Elsa gains control of her magical abilities and uses Ice Magic to decorate areas throughout the land; some can be seen in the movies, while some are unique to the World of Frozen. Winter could not be more magical at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort this year.

Star Wars Actor Gary Friedkin Passes Away at Age 70

Actor Gary Friedkin has passed away at the age of 70 due to complications from COVID-19. His family shared details regarding his passing in his obituary which stated he had died on December 2, 2022, while in hospice care at a facility located in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. A portion of Gary’s obituary reads:

“He was a gift to all who knew him as an amazing son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend. Gary lived his life to the absolute fullest, bringing endless laughs to his family and many friends, while never letting the obstacles he faced get in his way. Gary put countless smiles on people’s faces and left so many with their own special “Gary story.”“

Friedkin was best known by fans for his roles in Star Wars (Ewok), Happy Days (Clarence), The Twilight Zone, Blade Runner, and more. Gary earned 15 credited roles during his career.

Our deepest condolences go out the family, friends, and fans of Gary Friedkin.

Best boss ever! Billionaire Ken Griffin treated nearly 10,000 employees and their families with a special trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL after a record-breaking year for his company, Citadel.

Griffin gifted his employees from around the world with a 3-Day trip to Disney World which included airfare, hotel lodging, food & beverage, and park admission for themselves and their families to celebrate the hedge fund company’s record returns and major milestones.

During a private concert featuring Coldplay, Carly Rae Jepsen and DJ Diplo held for his employees to kick off the festivities, Griffin shared with the crowd, “We have built the most extraordinary team not only in our history — but also in the history of finance. We have an incredible future ahead of us – and I look forward to the chapters yet to be written.

Some of the Citadel employees who were invited to Walt Disney World Resort traveled from New York, Houston, Paris, Zurich, and other locations around the world. Griffin has also announced another special trip planned for Citadel’s employees located in Asia at a later day who did not get to celebrate at the place “Where Dreams Come True”.

From December 12 through December 23, 2022, Passholders can enjoy this increased discount.

New Avatar: The Way of Water Inspired Food and Drinks Coming to Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

New Avatar: The Way of Water inspired food and drinks are coming to Satu’li Canteen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to celebrate the debut of Avatar: The Way of Water. Take a look at the unique eats and drinks you can enjoy starting next week.

For all the foodies out there, there are a few new items inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water” making their way to Satu’li Canteen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Dec. 16. The Metkayina Mousse is a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, decorated with raspberry gelee, mango coulis, boba pearls and finished off with a milk and white chocolate garnish. The colorful Ocean Moon Bowl is made with tuna, blue noodles, watermelon radish, pickled daikon, rainbow carrots, avocado, cucumbers and red cabbage with a miso and sweet soy drizzle. Wash it all down with the new Ilu Splash Margarita which is a mix of kiwi Monin syrup with lime juice, sour mix, Corazon Tequila Blanco, and a floating slice of Kiwi.

NEW Set Photos from Star Wars: The Acolyte Disney+ Series

New details are emerging on Star Wars: The Acolyte Disney+ series!

Set 100 years before the Skywalker Saga, The Acolyte will bring the High Republic era to the screen for the first time. It’s thrilling news to Star Wars fans since many books, comics, and video games have explored this era.

The Daily Mail provides a new look at characters of the upcoming show. Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae was seen in costume for the first time on the forest set of highly-anticipated Star Wars prequel, The Acolyte, which began production November 7 at the UK’s Shinfield Studios.

What’s surprising to hear is how showrunner Leslye Headland will reportedly be drawing from elements of the Star Wars Expanded Universe (E.U.) as inspiration.

“Leslye Headland is a gigantic Star Wars fan,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said of the series’ showrunner. “What’s wonderful about Leslye is she knows it all. I mean, she’s read a gazillion books inside the E.U. There are little bits and pieces that she’s drawing from that no one has explored yet in the onscreen storytelling.”

Even though it’s set before The Phantom Menace, it’s unlikely that we’ll see characters such as Palpatine given the era of The Acolyte. However, we could very well see his master, Darth Plagueis!

We can’t wait to learn more about Star Wars: The Acolyte as we get closer to production.
