Scaffolding Comes Down As Disney Prepares for Opening of the New Roundup Rodeo BBQ. With the opening date finally announced for Disney’s Holywood Studios’ newest restaurant, we are seeing work being completed and scaffolding coming down from the outside.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ is located in Toy Story land next to Woody and on the backside of Slinky Dog Dash and is set to open on March 23rd, 2023. Rustle up some tasty BBQ fare at this western-themed restaurant where you’ll see the world through the eyes of Andy’s toys.

We can now see on the outside some of the themes that are coming to Andy’s backyard. Lamps are hung by bread ties, Tinker Toys are semi-built, and it looks like Andy and maybe Molly has been coloring in their favorite characters. Up on the roof of the new building little flags are held in place by clumps of Play-Doh.

Discover what it feels like to be one of Andy’s honorary toys. At Roundup Rodeo BBQ, you will be surrounded by Andy’s rodeo at play––everything from western towns and train station playsets.

Plus, take a gander at images of popular characters, including a larger-than-life display of Jessie riding on the back of a Trixie pull toy! You can also view a scene of Bo Peep and her sheep posed to perform in the rodeo.

Grab a meal and enjoy a whimsical kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets!

Disneyland Esplanade Music Updated with Disney100 Playlist

The Disney100 celebration begins at the Disneyland Resort today! As part of the celebration, the Disneyland Esplanade music has been updated with a new playlist.

While guests are walking between the theme park entrances as well as through Downtown Disney, they’ll hear a new music playlist. This new playlist has been released just for the Disney100 celebration. The following songs are on the playlist:

Wondrous Journeys Dazzles Guests for Disney’s 100th Anniversary

Wondrous Journeys will debut tonight, January 27! We had the opportunity to experience the new nighttime spectacular last night and it was AMAZING. This is one show you won’t want to miss and you’ll want to see it multiple times!

The all-new nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” debuts at Disneyland Park on Jan. 27, 2023, during the Disney100 anniversary celebration at the Disneyland Resort. A tribute to 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios, this new spectacular by Disney Live Entertainment features nods to all of the iconic studio’s films to date in a journey filled with artistry, music, storytelling and heart. Walt’s original magic kingdom becomes a magnificent canvas with lighting effects, projections and more. “Wondrous Journeys” ignites the dreamer in all of us, illustrating the possibilities, excitement, heartache and determination we all face when working to make our dreams come true.

The show will run nightly, enhanced with sparkling fireworks on select evenings.

The nighttime spectacular weaves in music, characters and moments from every film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios over the past century, including “Hercules,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Peter Pan,” “Treasure Planet,” “Big Hero 6,” “Frozen” and the upcoming “Wish.”
State-of-the-art projection effects surround guests with blank pieces of paper, pencil sketches and splashes of color, as the artistry of animators breathes life into beloved characters ranging from Mickey Mouse and Bambi to Ariel and Mirabel.
MagicBand+ enhances “Wondrous Journeys” by glowing with color and pulsing with haptic vibrations along with the show.
The projections are customized for each primary viewing area – Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America and the façade of “it’s a small world” – creating a unique experience for each location.
During a climactic moment in the story, the thumping bass of the song “Immortals” from “Big Hero 6” can be heard as Baymax takes to the skies over Disneyland Park (for the first time!) with his rocket boosters propelling him into the night.
Butterflies appear as a recurring motif throughout “Wondrous Journeys,” representing a physical manifestation of wonder. Butterflies are a wonder of nature and show up regularly in Walt Disney Animation Studios films, from “Alice in Wonderland” and “Winnie the Pooh” to “Tarzan” and “Encanto.”
18 Disney songs are heard throughout “Wondrous Journeys,” including the original song, “It’s Wondrous.” The new song features music and lyrics by Duddy Brown and GRAMMY^® Award-winning artist Alex Geringas.
The musical score was recorded by an 80-piece orchestra and includes 16 lead vocalists and a 33-voice choir.

Zoe Saldaña Becomes First Actor to Have 4 Movies Make Over $2 Billion at Box Office. Whether you want to call her Gamora or Neytiri, you better put some respect behind either one. The actress is the only female or male to have her name attached to 4 of the top-grossing movies of all time, with Avatar The Way of Water Breaking $2 Billion dollars last weekend, Zoe Saldaña is a huge box office draw.

Her other three titles to reach the milestone are 2009’s Avatar, 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. At this rate, she will probably end up in a few more too. With great expectations surrounding her upcoming projects, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Avatar 3.

“I feel grateful and like the luckiest girl in this town knowing that I was invited to join films with special directors in a special cast,” she told Deadline. “And they resonated with people so much so that we get a chance to come back again and come back another time. If anything, I’ve reaped all the benefits of that, I’ve gained friends. I still have mentors that I call and I lean into.”

She added, “I think that once I started my family, it just became really hard for me to sustain both worlds and also then cater to this curiosity of playing other different characters or playing earthlings, you know? But I’m happy in space. I’ve always been happy in space. I relate to people that love space as well.”

New Shazam! Fury of the Gods Trailer Released

Warner Brothers released the second full trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods today. The sequel to the 2019 DCEU film follows Billy Batson and his superhero family as they square off against all new supernatural threats to the earth. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is one of four DC films slated for release in 2023 along with The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

The film stars Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson / Shazam! New cast members joining the pantheon include Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso, and Rachel Zegler, whose role is currently unknown. Shazam! Fury of the Gods releases in theaters on March 17, 2023.

The headband features a smiling sun on one ear and Mickey & Minnie riding a train on the other. The back is light blue with a pattern featuring icons from the attraction and the middle features a Chuuby plush looking extra adorable!

You can also adjust the headband with a self-adhesive hook and loop closure in the stretch strap that can be fastened behind the head or under your chin.

New Disney 100 Character Walls Up at Downtown Disney

Disneyland is no stranger to construction right now, especially in Downtown Disney. While there recently we noticed new Disney 100 character walls are up.

These new Disney 100 walls are a little more exciting and selfie worthy than the other construction walls. They are a blue-purple color with silver sparkles and feature the characters in their new Disney 100 outfits.

All New Kids Club Coming to Disney Springs

All New Kids Club Coming to Disney Springs. Disney’s outdoor shopping mall is filled with fun for the whole family now, but it is about to become more enjoyable for kids who may not like going from store to store with their parents. Disney just announced that Saturdays at Springs will feature Disney Springs Kids Club, with dancing, musical acts from the parks, DJs, and more.

Saturday mornings at Disney Springs are about to get a whole lot more fun! Our entertainment team has been hard at work curating a lineup of high-energy, engaging performers to get the whole family up on their feet, moving and grooving. Disney Springs Kids Club kicks off this Saturday, January 28, and is a brand-new entertainment offering designed for the whole family to enjoy together. It will take place at Waterview Park every Saturday morning starting at 10:30 a.m.

These unique, family-friendly acts will vary each week, and new entertainment will frequently be added to the lineup. To kick things off, you may recognize Wassalou, the Afropop band from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! They’re taking their show on the road to our side of town, bringing trademark energy and style to Disney Springs Kids Club. Pick up bongos, maracas and more, while you play and dance along in the drum circle. Or, boogie down with Flight Crew Jump Rope at a high-energy dance party featuring dazzling jump-rope routines and thrilling acrobatics. The best part?

The crew will have you jumping along like a pro in no time. Rounding out the current Disney Springs Kids Club lineup, DJ KD Queen will bring her signature flair to the stage, hosting games, singalongs, and more.

And the fun doesn’t have to stop there! Afterward, enjoy some kid favorite activities like lunch at Splitsville Dining Room, taking a ride on the Marketplace Train Express, or building at The LEGO Store play tables – just to name a few. Police Report States Jeremy Renner was Rescuing Nephew from being Hit by Snowplow

Actor Jeremy Renner was critically injured recently while trying to stop his snow removal tractor from sliding into his nephew. According to the now-released Nevada Sheriff’s report, Renner was pulled underneath the vehicle and crushed.

Failure to engage the vehicle’s parking brake allowed it to begin a sideways slide after Renner had used the vehicle to pull his nephew’s truck out of the snow. “The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding, causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake. Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”

The report noted that the brake lights were also malfunctioning on the Pistenbully, so mechanical failure is also a factor in the accident. Renner was injured on New Year’s Day and spent two weeks in the hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries to repair fractures in his leg.

Renner has returned home from the hospital following this traumatic accident and has been hitting all his recovery goals. We look forward to seeing the recovered superhero back on the screen very soon and returning to full health.
