Upcoming Big Event Possible For The Mandalorian

Dave Filoni, Executive Producer of The Mandalorian, recently teased that “A Big Event” could come to the series

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is in full swing on Disney+, with three episodes of the current season released. In a recent interview with The Wrap, executive producer Dave Filoni teased a big event could potentially be on the horizon.

Filoni’s comments came while he was noting the expansive timeline The Mandalorian takes place in. The series takes place post-Return of the Jedi and prior to The Force Awakens, providing 30 years’ worth of time to fill. While the series could, in theory, continue in perpetuity, Filoni notes “the reality of there being a big event in this time period is very real.” The balance between a continuing series and a specific event, Filoni commented, is not an either/or decision, since the series “could build to a climactic thing” while continuing indefinately.

Disney World Imagineer Confirms Villians Land is in the Works. “We’re dreaming every day about what could be next at Walt Disney World,” Chris Beatty told EW in a recent interview.

“We’re dreaming every day about what could be next at Walt Disney World. We just wanted to give you a peek at some of the amazing things that could be coming. It’s changing every day. It’s exciting. I think Josh was really trying to get across that spirit of creativity, of what could be next, of innovation, of the possibility of what could be is still alive and well at Disney and Imagineering,” he says of the D23 presentation, which he stresses was not intended to highlight concrete plans for the parks, but rather his team “dreaming about what could be” ahead.

“[The villains’ concept] got pretty good applause,” he admits. “We took note of how loud the applause was when we announced that.”

The Blue Skies projects got a huge buzz during the D23 Expo presentation and we have all waited for more news to come along firming up what the future could hold for Beyond Big Thunder Mountain.

Disney is also hard at work on bringing rides and attractions based on Zootopia, Frozen, and Big Hero 6 to its global properties in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and California, respectively.

Disney Moves Tiana Disney+ Series Release to Coming Soon

Release date for the Tiana Disney+ Series has been changed again, this time to ‘soon’

Walt Disney Animation Studios has again moved the release date for the upcoming Tiana Disney+ series. Initially slated for 2023, the premier of the show was updated to 2024, and then changed to note it is ‘Coming soon to Disney+’.

The timeline update was shared on Twitter by user Disney Animation Promos:

The show’s timeline occurs after the events of the Princess of the Frog movie, following Tiana as she travels the world as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia. Disney has not released an official statement on what ‘soon’ means, but we can only assume this means the series has been delayed.

TRON Lightcycle Run Merchandise Pop-Up Taking over Stitch’s Great Escape

A pop-up TRON Lightcycle Run Merchandise shop will be hosted in the former Stitch’s Great Escape building in Tomorrowland

Guests looking to pick up some TRON Lightcycle Run swag will want to head to the building that was previously home to Stitch’s Great Escape in Tomorrowland. Disney recently announced a pop-up merchandise shop will be located here along with the official opening of the ride on April 4.

Old school fans, like myself, may recall the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter attraction that was previously housed in this space. Alien Encounter was later re-themed to Stitch’s Great Escape, which closed in 2018 and was replaced by a Stich character meet-and-greet. This is the same location in Tomorrowland in which guests will find the pop-up shop.

The shop will feature Tron-related merchandise, such as light-up jackets and a backpack that can hold the Tron identity disk (and also double as an audio speaker). Other items that will be found in the shop include T-shirts and collectibles, such as the TRON Lightcycle Handlebars. The handlebars will feature lights and sound effects from TRON as well as an interactive game for up to four players.

Reservations For Happily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Parties Opening Next Week

Fireworks Dessert Parties for Happily Ever After can be booked beginning next week

Another milestone in the long-awaited return of Happily Ever After has arrived: fireworks dessert parties will be open for booking starting next week.

Dessert parties offer an amazing way to catch Happily Ever After. Guests are afforded a large array of desserts to snack on at Tomorrowland Terrace and will enjoy the fireworks from a prime location on either the Tomorrowland Terrace or the Plaza Garden area in front of Cinderella Castle.

The Tomorrowland Terrace option, known as the Seats and Sweets party, affords access to the desserts and a seat on Tomorrowland Terrace to watch the show. The Plaza Garden affords two options to choose from: a pre-party, with access to Tomorrowland Terrace for snacks prior to Happily Every After, and a post-party in which guests will enjoy Happily Ever After from the Plaza Garden and then head over to Tomorrowland Terrace for the dessert party.

The menu for the dessert parties includes:

A selection of pastries prepared by a pastry chef
A selection of cheeses
A selection of drinks, including beer/wine offerings for guests 21 or older

We have personally done the dessert party in the past, and have found the Garden viewing area to be our favorite location to catch the fireworks in the entire park. Not only are the snacks amazing, but you get an unobstructed view of the show without having to stand around for hours to reserve a spot.

Reservations open on March 23, and the parties themselves start on April 1. The cost of the Happily Ever After dessert parties starts at $99 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $50 per child (ages 3-9) for the pre-party and post-party Plaza Garden viewing packages, and $114 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $69 per child (ages 3-9) for the Tomorrowland Terrace Seats and Sweets package. Given the popularity of Happily Ever After, dessert party reservations will certainly sell out quickly.

Indiana Jones Adventure Expected to Reopen This Week in Disneyland

Indiana Jones Adventure is reopening this week at Disneyland! The attraction has been closed for around 3 months for refurbishment.

According to the Disneyland website, Indiana Jones Adventure will reopen on Friday, March 17. The ride was closed for regular maintenance and refurbishment. One rumor is that the large snake featured in the attraction has finally been fixed.

The Disneyland website describes the attraction as:

“An Ancient Legend
Follow Indy’s footsteps into the crumbling Temple of the Forbidden Eye past intricate booby traps. Inspect carvings and frescos that tell the story of Mara, a powerful deity who promises great treasures—and vengeance to those foolish enough to gaze into its all-seeing eyes.

Closer Look at the Mouth Watering Food from Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land

Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land is opening in just a few days! We recently got to try the tasty BBQ offerings from the new restaurant. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. Both are $45 per adult plus tax and gratuity and $25 per child plus tax and gratuity.

For starters, guests can enjoy The Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Sweet Pepper Jelly. 3 salads are available as well: Rootin’ Tootin Tomato Salad, Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad, and Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad.

There are eight different sides available. Guests can choose four for the table. The ones available to choose from are:

Mean Old Potato Salad
The Married Spuds
Veggie Slaw
Force Field Fried Pickles
Campfire-roasted Vegetables
Slinky Doooooooooog’s Mac & Cheese
Buckin’ Baked Beans

Disney Cast Members Reenact Pirates of the Caribbean with Guests while Ride was Shutdown

While Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom was unexpectedly down, Cast Members reenacted the ride with guests! A video of the interaction was shared to TikTok.

In the video, shared by @strawberries_and_makeup, Cast Members can be seen completing their duties in a unique way. Guests are “loaded” into a boat made out of tape on the ground. Some Cast Members then reenacted the entire ride while reading through the attraction’s script. Other Cast Members provided sound effects while some sang “Yo Ho, Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me).”

New Limited Time Offerings Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for 25th Anniversary

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! Guests will be able to experience some new limited time offerings as part of the celebration.

The 25th anniversary will be celebrated on Earth Day, which is April 22, 2023. Just in time for the 25th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Moana, from the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film, will greet fellow voyagers on Discovery Island for the first time, starting April 22.

Since it opened on April 22, 1998, this one-of-a-kind theme park has offered awe-inspiring animal encounters, thrilling attractions and larger-than-life musical stage shows. Since 1995, with support from The Walt Disney Company and guests, the Disney Conservation Fund has directed $120 million to support nonprofit organizations working with communities to save wildlife, inspire action and protect the planet. Additionally, the Disney Conservation team leads best-in-class scientific programs to conserve wildlife in Disney’s backyard and beyond, connects people to build a network for nature, and cares for the planet through everyday actions.

In April, there will be new ways to join in the celebration for Earth Day and this milestone, including new sweet and savory treats, specialty merchandise and limited-time character sightings in the park.
