‘Marvel’s Avengers’ is Now Available for Play on Playstation, Xbox and More. Game developer Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Marvel have teamed up to create a new game called ‘Marvel’s Avengers‘ and fans are ready for it! The near cinematic quality of the game will allow players to feel like they are a member of the team and band together with other players online to assemble their own team of Avengers to fight the forces of evil within the Marvel Universe.

“Marvel’s Avengers is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, the game is inspired by the long-running comic book mythology and adaptations in other media. … The team is forced to reassemble to save the world from peril. The game features an online co-op mode, allowing players to assemble a team of heroes of their own.”

Though the studios have both said the game will not be considered canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the game will feature nods, themes, and parallel’s to the Marvel films and comics. With the announcement and unveiling of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X game consoles many fans have been wondering if the game will be compatible with the new consoles. This week, Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Marvel confirmed Marvel’s Avengers will release on PS4 and Xbox One, but will be available on the new consoles after the launch during the holidays at the end of 2020. Owners of the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game will be eligible for a free PS5 and/or Xbox Series X version should they upgrade to the new console(s).

Playstation has also announced that Spider-Man will exclusively be available to players on their network. PlayStation shared the news via twitter with a teaser photo and caption stating, “Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man comes to Marvel’s Avengers, exclusively on PlayStation. Crystal Dynamics offers early details on its own, unique take on the post-launch Hero.”
