Cementosaurus’ Extinct: DinoLand USA’s Transformation is in Full Swing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

RIP Cementosaurus! The towering concrete dino that once stood as the entrance to Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama has officially been demolished overnight, marking another massive step forward in the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into Tropical Americas. The demolition comes as Disney updates its closure timeline for the remaining attractions in the land, meaning if you’re a fan of prehistoric fun, you’ll want to make your way to Disney’s Animal Kingdom before extinction is complete!

DinoLand U.S.A. is Running Out of Time – When’s It Closing?

If you want one last trip back to the Cretaceous period, 2025 is your final year to experience DinoLand U.S.A. before it disappears into history books. Here’s what’s still open and when it’s expected to close:

Still Open (For Now!):

  • DINOSAUR – You still have until 2026 to help Dr. Seeker totally break every time travel rule possible.
  • Restaurantosaurus – Serving up grub through 2025, so you’ve still got time to grab a S’moresosaurus Shake and listen to the Dino Institute Intern belt out some prehistoric tunes.
  • The Boneyard – Your little paleontologists can keep digging until sometime in 2025.

🚧 Already Closed (Farewell, Fossilized Fun!):

  • TriceraTop SpinSpun its last spin on January 12, 2025.
  • Fossil Fun Games – No more tossing rings at dino tails after January 12, 2025.
  • Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures – Closed the same day, but don’t worry—Discovery Trading Co. and Island Mercantile still have all the Disney merch your heart desires!

One of the Largest Quick-Service Restaurants at Disney World – A Hacienda-style eatery with plenty of space to relax and refuel between adventures.

When Will Tropical Americas Open?

Construction is moving fast, and Tropical Americas is set to debut in 2027. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to DinoLand U.S.A., the future of Animal Kingdom is looking more magical than ever!
