Test Track 3.0 is Racing Toward the Future—And Women in Construction Are in the Driver’s Seat!
The next generation of Test Track is coming to EPCOT, and Disney is hard at work bringing this high-speed reimagining to life! In honor of Women in Construction Week, Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind-the-scenes look at the project, following Project Engineer Carleigh through a day of working on Test Track 3.0.
In the video, Carleigh gives us a pit stop tour of the ride in its stripped-down, work-in-progress state. She walks up to the round, silver-paneled show building, passing scaffolding surrounding the ride’s exterior track—a clear sign that big changes are underway!
Inside, the queue area looks completely transformed, with bare concrete floors, plain white walls, and little remaining from the previous iteration except for some familiar curved silver handrails. The video wraps up with Carleigh standing at the ride’s final section, next to a mesh metal wall and staircase, hinting at even more changes coming to the ride’s finale experience.

This third major overhaul of Test Track is set to reopen in late summer 2025 and will pay homage to the original World of Motion, which operated from 1982 to 1996 before Test Track 1.0 took over in 1999. With this new version, General Motors is reclaiming sponsorship from Chevrolet, potentially bringing some retro-futuristic vibes back into the mix!
For now, all we can do is buckle up and wait, but one thing’s for sure—Test Track 3.0 is revving up to be an exciting ride into the future! 🚗💨
