Disney Reaffirms Commitment to Disneyland Abu Dhabi
Disney is moving forward with its planned theme park resort in Abu Dhabi despite ongoing conflict and economic uncertainty in the Middle East. During the company’s third-quarter earnings call, Disney leaders reiterated that they remain fully committed to the project, which will become the seventh Disney resort destination worldwide.

The new resort is being developed on Yas Island through a partnership with Miral, the Abu Dhabi-based company behind Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. Under the agreement, Miral will finance, build, and operate the resort, while Disney supplies its characters, stories, creative expertise, and design oversight.
Disney Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston said the company continues to believe in the project’s long-term strategy. While regional conflict and changing fuel costs could affect travel in the near term, Disney is looking far beyond the current headlines and expects the resort to operate for decades once completed.
