Disney’s BoardWalk Begins Refurbishment Work on Village Green Courtyard

If you have an upcoming stay planned at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn or Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, you’ll want to take note of a temporary lawn closure coming to the resort later this month.

As part of the multi-year transformation work continuing across Disney’s BoardWalk Resort through late 2026, the Village Green courtyard will be temporarily closed from August 10 through September 4, 2026.

The Village Green is the central grassy courtyard space located between the main lobby and the waterfront promenade. It’s a popular spot where resort guests often relax, stretch out, or take part in daily recreation offerings.

During the nearly four-week closure, popular resort activities typically hosted on the Village Green—including Movie Under the Stars, outdoor yoga, lawn games, and scheduled crafts—will be relocated to alternative spaces throughout the resort property.

Disney has noted that guest amenities, including dining options, shops, and main resort pathways, will remain accessible throughout this phase of work. However, guests staying nearby may see or hear construction daytime activity around select areas of the Inn and Villas.

Looking further ahead, Disney has also confirmed that a second phase of maintenance will take place in early 2027:

• Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations will close for routine maintenance from January 11, 2027, through April 2027.
• During the Luna Park Pool downtime, the leisure pools at both Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas will remain open for guests.
