Steel Construction Permit Filed for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A new construction permit has been filed for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, pointing to possible maintenance work at the popular attraction inside the Chinese Theatre. The permit lists Coastal Steel Inc. for “General Construction” at the ride’s address, although Disney has not shared any details about the exact scope of the project.

The contractor named on the permit has experience with both steel work and ride systems, and its portfolio includes previous work on the Chinese Theatre façade. That leaves several possibilities on the track, including exterior refurbishment, structural maintenance, or work involving attraction equipment. For now, however, the permit does not confirm what area of the ride will be affected.

The filing came from Disney’s Facility Asset Management team, which typically handles routine upkeep and maintenance rather than major thematic changes. That suggests this project is more likely a behind-the-scenes tune-up than a major update to Mickey and Minnie’s cartoon adventure.
