Mickey Shorts Theater Closing Briefly for Kermit Passholder Magnet Distribution

Attention Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Muppets fans! If you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the coming weeks, you’ll want to take note of a temporary operational change coming to Echo Lake.

Beginning August 9, 2026, the Mickey Shorts Theater will temporarily close its doors to prepare for the distribution of the newest Annual Passholder magnet featuring everyone’s favorite amphibian: Kermit the Frog!

The temporary pause on showing the Vacation Fun animated short film will allow the space to serve as the main pickup hub for Passholders.

The Kermit the Frog Passholder Magnet distribution will officially run from August 11 through September 24, 2026, during regular park operating hours (from park open to park close), while supplies last.

How to Get Your Kermit Magnet

If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios to claim your magnet, here is everything you need to know:

• Location: Mickey Shorts Theater (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
• Dates: August 11 – September 24, 2026
• Hours: Park Open to Park Close
• Requirements: Each Passholder must be physically present and show a valid Annual Pass (via physical Passholder card, linked MagicBand/MagicBand+, or Disney MagicMobile pass) alongside a government-issued photo ID.
• Limit: One magnet per Passholder, available while supplies last.

The new magnet isn’t the only green goodness coming to the park this month. Alongside the pickup at Mickey Shorts Theater, Passholders can look forward to additional exclusive Muppet perks through September 24, including:

• Exclusive Kermit Magic Shot: Pose with a banjo alongside Kermit the Frog near the end of Hollywood Boulevard (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily).
• Key Lime Kermit Milkshake: Treat yourself to a special themed key lime milkshake over at Dockside Diner by showing your Passholder ID.

Note: Theme park admission and a theme park reservation may be required to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios depending on your pass type and date of visit (or visit after 2:00 PM / on a Good-to-Go Day).
