Orlando Dreamers Reveal New Renderings for Proposed $2 Billion MLB Stadium
The Orlando Dreamers are stepping back up to the plate with new renderings for a proposed Major League Baseball stadium in Central Florida. The group is continuing its push to bring an MLB franchise to Orlando, with plans centered around a domed, 45,000-seat ballpark along the International Drive tourism corridor near State Road 528.

The proposed stadium is expected to cost about $2 billion, with the Dreamers preparing to request $975 million in Orange County Tourist Development Tax funding. Private investment would cover a significant portion of the remaining costs, while the tourism tax contribution would help move the massive project closer to reality.
The latest plans show more than just a ballpark. Additional development would surround the stadium, creating a larger sports and entertainment district near one of Orlando’s busiest tourism areas. An updated economic impact study commissioned by the group estimates the project could support more than 38,000 construction jobs and over 52,000 permanent jobs, while generating billions of dollars in economic activity over several decades.
The proposal will face plenty of innings before any shovels hit the ground. Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax Task Force is currently reviewing nearly $3 billion in funding requests, with only a limited amount of tourism tax money available. County leaders will eventually need to decide whether the Dreamers’ stadium deserves a major share of those funds or whether the money should go toward other competing projects.

Orlando currently does not have a Major League Baseball franchise, but the Dreamers believe the region’s growth, tourism industry, and expanding sports scene make it a strong candidate for a future team. These new renderings are meant to show both county leaders and MLB officials that Central Florida is ready to play ball.
