Try This At Home: Disney's Tie Dyed Cheesecake Recipe!

So groovy!

Remember the delicious Tie Dyed Cheesecake from Disney’s Pop Century Resort? It’s a must-have when you visit the resort for sure!

And guess what? Now you can make this colorful dessert at home! Here’s an easy recipe so you can recreate it with your family! Take a look:


INGREDIENTS

  • Red Velvet Cheesecake:
    • 1/4 cup of butter softened
    • 3/4 cups of sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tbsp cocoa
    • 1 oz of red food coloring
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1 cup of flour
    • 1/2 tbsp of vinegar
    • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • Cheesecake filling:
    • 1 1/2 lb of cream cheese
    • 1 1/3 cups of sugar
    • 5 large eggs
    • 16 oz of sour cream
    • 1/4 cups of flour
    • 2 tsp vanilla
    • 2 tsp lemon juice

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Red Velvet Cheesecake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350 F
    • Grease a 9″ springform pan
    • Mix together the butter, sugar and eggs
    • In another bowl mix the cocoa and food coloring until you make a paste
    • Add the paste to the previous mix
    • Mix the buttermilk with the vanilla and salt and then add alternately to the flour
    • In a small bowl mix the baking soda and vinegar and add last then folding in
    • Don’t beat after adding the baking soda mixture
    • Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30min
    • Take it out from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan
    • Keep the oven on at a lower temperature of 325 F
  • Cheesecake Filling:
    • With a mixer beat the cream cheese until is light and fluffy
    • Keeping the mixer on a low setting add the sugar a little at a time and continue beating until you get a creamy texture
    • Add one egg at a time and beat after each one
    • Add flour, vanilla and lemon juice and mix well
    • Finally add the sour cream and mix everything very well together
    • Once the batter is done, divide it into 6 different bowls
    • Add color to each one: purple, red, yellow, blue, green and orange
    • Start dropping big spoonfuls of the colored batter randomly on top of the red velvet cake still in the pan
    • Swirl lightly to mix it together
    • Place the pan back in the oven now at 325F for 1 hour and 15 minutes
    • Once is done, let it sit in the oven with the door open for another hour
    • Remove from the oven and let it cool before putting it in the fridge for 24 hours
