I don’t know about you, but when I go on vacation, I always have a list of people I want to bring back a little something for – just a little souvenir to let them know I was thinking of them while I was away. So what do you bring back those baby sitters/dog sitters/friends from Walt Disney World? Here’s my top picks for WDW Souvenir gift-giving:
“The Little Things” – In the under $10 souvenir category there are quite a few good ideas – assorted pens/pencils/marker sets, magnets, keychains, decks of cards, washcloths – these are all things that are small, cheap, and best of all – they are actually useful to almost anyone you would give them to
Kitchen Accessories – These are great for any foodie, or really anyone who enjoys spending time in the kitchen. Disney Park souvenir shops offer a wide range of different products to choose from, like wine stoppers, spatulas/whisks/spoons/tongs, cookbooks, pot holders, ice cube trays, and much more
Edible Souvenirs – This might be my favorite category – because who doesn’t love to receive FOOD as a gift?! Especially Disney food (since its only some of the best food ever!). There are plenty of items that will travel well and make it back to your house in one piece (as long as you don’t eat them that is…) – like Mickey Rice Krispie treats, bagged candy, cookies/crackers, fun candy bars, bags of caramel corn, Mickey Pasta, even Disney Fudge can be packed up and transported home as a sweet gift
Pair A Mug With Their Favorite Drink: There are tons of great Disney mugs to choose from at the Parks – big ones, small ones, travel ones, metal ones, ceramic ones – so you should have no trouble finding one for anyone and everyone on your souvenir list! For an added treat, you can give them their favorite hot beverage along with the mug – Disney Parks has various teas, coffees, and cocoas available for purchase (my personal favorite is the Holiday Cheer coffee – reminds me of Disney and Christmas – yum!), and these would go great with a Disney mug featuring their favorite character, wouldn’t they?
For Kids: There are many choices for the little ones on your souvenir list – Coloring books and crayons/markers, stuffed animals, books, Mickey Ear hat, fun shaped pens/pencils, and much more for them to squeal over and play pretend with
Some Things I DON’T Love Giving As Souvenirs: T shirts – you never can be 100% on people’s sizes, or if they would like/wear the shirt you pick, any toys that make noise (that’s just plain mean to parents ha), Wine/Beer/drinking glasses – these tend to be a lot less sturdy than the Disney mugs, and much more likely to break in transit, and that extends to really anything fragile like glass something that might easily break, and Disney Pins – while I love them and collect them, not everyone does, and if they do, they might already have that particular pin. Mickey Ice Cream Bars also don’t travel too well…seriously though, some food items might melt/crumble/get smushed/break on the trip home – items like those giant lollipops, chocolate, and most items from the bakery case like cupcakes/cookies are probably not going to make it home in one piece
There are SO MANY great souvenirs available at the Disney Parks that it can be overwhelming trying to pick out the ‘perfect one’ for your loved ones back home – so I hope that this list can help you narrow it down, and I would love to hear from you too – what do YOU like to give as Disney souvenirs to those back home?
