While Disney’s Hollywood Studios was abuzz last week with all-things-Star-Tours, there also was an electric (guitar) feeling in the air along Sunset Blvd., as Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry made a surprise visit to the roller coaster bearing his band’s famous name.
Our good friend and former Disney’s Hollywood Studios Cast Member, Ashley Eckstein, returns today to take us on a quick video tour behind-the-scenes of “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.”
Year after year, I have watched the fan excitement unfold at Star Wars Weekends. Much like the Force, it’s everywhere at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – from meeting celebrities from the Star Wars galaxy to being the first guests in line to face Darth Vader at Jedi Training Academy. I like visiting Jabba’s Hut, a specially designed merchandise location created just for Star Wars Weekends (by the way, it’s located near Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster this year). The excitement in the “Hutt” is overwhelming as guests from all over the world descend upon this location for “must-have” Star Wars Weekends merchandise. This year promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever.
You better believe we’re counting down the days until Star Tours re-launches at Disney Parks. And if you’re as excited as we are about this monumental occasion at Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort, then we’ve got some great news to share. You’ll be able to see the grand opening of “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” as it happens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios right here on the Disney Parks Blog.
Star Wars Weekends 2011 will be a Tour de “Force” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, celebrating the grand opening of the new Star Tours attraction as the Walt Disney World Resort theme park welcomes Jedi, Sith, Ewoks, Wookiees, galactic bounty hunters and stormtroopers for the park’s annual celebration of all-things-Star Wars.
NBA basketball superstar Dwight Howard, All-Star center for the Orlando Magic, stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios today and had the chance to visit everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca.
Guests to last night’s finale of “The American Idol Experience” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios had a nice surprise, as “American Idol” Season 8 Top 5 Finalist Matt Giraud stopped in to check out the attraction. The Kalamazoo, Mich. native is on vacation here this week.
The Tables in Wonderland team just keeps coming up with fun ideas for dinner. This time it’s a “Cairo Dinner Show” at the Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – and everyone gets to be on stage! . Diners will watch the first scene of the live-action show from the first two rows, then the set will open to reveal a beautifully set dining room right on the stage. And while guests dine, the director yells “Action!” and the adventures continue all around the tables.
