Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Set to Reopen at Disney California Adventure

The popular Pixar Pier attraction, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, originally closed its gates on February 27 for what was scheduled to be a brief two-day refurbishment. Although it was initially slated to welcome guests back on March 1, the ride has remained unexpectedly closed ever since. Fortunately, the wait is finally over for anxious fans, as Disney has officially revealed the attraction’s highly anticipated reopening date.

According to the official Disneyland website, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is finally scheduled to reopen on June 18. This latest closure follows a previous downtime for the Pixar Pier attraction earlier this year, when it was temporarily shuttered from January 5 through January 23, 2026, for a separate routine refurbishment.

Ever since its doors closed, the Pixar Pier attraction has been hidden from view behind large purple construction walls.

When it reopens, guests can once again board the eight distinct Memory Movers, each uniquely colored to represent one of Riley’s core Emotions or a whimsical character straight from her imagination. As the ride begins, the vibrant, memory-packed shelves light up with glowing recollections while the vehicles ascend together, flying gracefully in a circle.
