Disney World Files New Construction Permits for Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean may be getting a little attention from Disney’s construction crews, with two new permits filed for the classic Magic Kingdom attraction.

The permits cover two separate addresses along Caribbean Way. One lists 4873B Caribbean Way, which corresponds to the attraction’s facade and queue area, while the second covers 4875 Caribbean Way, the Pirates of the Caribbean show building. Both permits were filed by Walt Disney World’s Sourcing & Procurement team.
Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney’s in-house construction contractor, is listed on both permits. The scope of work calls for providing labor, materials and/or electrical work for construction. The filings do not provide additional details about exactly what work is planned inside or around the attraction.
Disney has not announced a refurbishment or temporary closure for Pirates of the Caribbean at this time, so the permits do not necessarily mean Jack Sparrow and his crew are heading ashore. The work could potentially be completed after park hours or as part of routine maintenance without requiring an extended closure. We will be watching for any additional permits or operational changes that could offer more clues about what Disney has planned.
Pirates of the Caribbean remains one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic attractions, taking guests through a world of treasure, cannon fire, singing buccaneers, and plenty of questionable pirate behavior.
