The trailer introduces 17-year-old Asha, the powerful King Magnifico, Asha’s pet goat Valentino, and Star, a celestial ball of boundless energy that Asha’s wish calls down from the sky.
It also features a snippet of the song “This Wish,” performed by Ariana DeBose; it’s one of several new songs written by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice for the film.
The all-new musical-comedy welcomes audiences to Rosas, a fantastical land located off the Iberian Peninsula. “Our heroine, Asha, lives in Rosas, known as the kingdom of wishes,” said director Chris Buck, who helms the film with Fawn Veerasunthorn. “People come from everywhere to give their wishes to a magical king who promises to grant their deepest desires—someday. Only he can decide which wishes will come true and when.”
Added Veerasunthorn, “We have been inspired by so many iconic films over Disney Animation’s 100 years, especially stories where we explore the power of someone with a wish, combined with the conviction to make that wish come true. Being able to honor that legacy with this incredible story and these amazing characters has been a joy for our entire team.”
The new spine-tingling twist for Haunted Mansion: a PG-13 rating
Disney fans have been buzzing with excitement ever since the announcement of the latest Haunted Mansion movie, which is slated to release this July. The highly anticipated film promises to capture the essence of the beloved Disney attraction while adding a new dimension of chills and thrills. Collider reports the latest Haunted Mansion installment has earned a PG-13 rating, promising a darker and more intense experience than previous films and stories based on the attraction.
Haunted Mansion is not the only Disney film to earn a PG-13 rating, as the recent Jungle Cruise and live-action Mulan films, as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean series, were all rated PG-13. This shift towards a more mature rating allows the filmmakers to delve deeper into the macabre aspects of the Haunted Mansion’s story, giving fans a fresh take on the beloved source material.
The Haunted Mansion is stacked with an all-star cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, Jaime Lee Curtis, and Danny Davito. The plot of the film centers around a mother (played by Dawson) and son (played by Chase W. Dillon) who move into a mansion that is evidently haunted. The due is aided by a psychic (Dawson), a priest (Wilson), a historian (Davito), and a paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield) as they attempt to navigate the mysteries and terror of the mansion, which include the famous Hat Box Ghost (Leto) and Madame Leota (Curtis).
The Haunted Mansion, directed by Justin Simien and written by Katie Dippold, will hit theaters on July 28, 2023.

No Showtimes Listed for Fantasmic! in Disneyland After Accident It appears Disneyland is suspending further performances of Fantasmic! Despite some initial reporting that the show would return this weekend with the dragon operating in B-Mode, we did some further digging and discovered performances of Fantasmic! at Disneyland have been canceled through May 4, 2023.
In response to Disney’s filing Florida Governor DeSantis Communications Director Taryn Fenske released a statement on the lawsuit.
“We are unaware of any legal right that a company has to operate its own government or maintain special privileges not held by other businesses in the state,” Fenske states. “The lawsuit is yet another unfortunate example of their hope to undermine the will of the Florida voters and operate outside the bounds of the law.”
While touring Middle East Countries Florida Governor Ron DeSantis talked briefly about the rift between Disney and the State of Florida.
“They’re upset because they’re having to live by the same rules as everybody else. They don’t want to pay the same taxes as everybody else and they want to be able to control things without proper oversight,” DeSantis said during a visit to Israel. “The days of putting one company on a pedestal with no accountability are over in the state of Florida.”
We expect Ron DeSantis to issue a full statement when he returns from his trip to the Middle East.

The Stanley Cup is returning to the Disneyland Resort this weekend! For the second year in a row the iconic trophy will be at Downtown Disney for guests to see.
From April 29 – 30 during the hours of 12 p.m. – 7 p.m., guests will not only be able to take photos with the Stanley Cup, but can also play air hockey with their friends and family! Guests will also have a chance to take home unique ESPN keepsakes!
